I selected a survey listed as 3 minutes long by Savanta. It was about cell phone carriers. It just kept going on and on asking the same questions over and over. I think their plan is to get the info they need in the beginning and then frustrate the survey taker to quit the survey to forfeit getting paid. But I was determined to stay the course after I had already invested so much time. When I finally got to the end it let me rate them and provide feedback and I wrote how I felt the survey was unnecessarily too long. Once I hit submit, I got a message saying the affiliate had closed the survey. So I did not get paid! This has happened a few times that the clients have cheated me out of the spare change promised. It will do you no good to complain to the survey site. These are their paying clients so they let them get away with this behavior. Since I like taking the surveys, I'm not going to keep getting played. I'm keeping a list of all the scam companies listing surveys. Specially for Savanta, I am going to report them to my state Attorney General's office. Or to the US dept of labor. I may do a change org. Petition to get these survey sites to protect the survey taker a little more. I'm also going to set up a group on Reddit where other survey takers can report other scam researchers. Until we can get some action, I would strongly encourage survey takers to keep a list of the fraudulent survey providers and not take their surveys. If a survey starts running over the quoted time, exit immediately and record it. Our time is valuable too. And if you're angry enough, report it to your state Attorney General's office. These companies are so sleazy but exposing them has to start somewhere.
