Really easy website to navigate. Quote was a lot less than my renewal from Staysure for the same conditions and cover.

The SAGA website was easy to navigate and it was simple to choose the different options needed to select the details of my trip and to complete the information for the medical declaration.
Would definitely use again if I need single trip or annual travel cover!!

Back in June I rang Saga to renew insurance on my mother's flat and report that she had died. I was told that, as the property was now unoccupied, coverage would be reduced to exclude certain events such as flooding. I was told that, once Probate was granted, I should inform Saga immediately and would then need to take out a new policy. Nothing was said about ceasing coverage entirely.

I rang today to renew or change the policy and, after waiting on hold for several minutes, was put through to a person with an accent so strong that I had great trouble in understanding them. Eventually they cancelled the existing policy and then kept me on hold for some time, before then telling me that Saga doesn't do insurance on unoccupied properties! To add insult to injury, on pointing out that I had only been told that after cancelling the policy (as instructed), I was offered the facility to make a complaint and, when I answered Yes, I would like to do that, was put on hold again!

Being kept on hold, switched to a different department, put on hold again and only then being told Saga couldn't help me was not only a waste of my time but also unnecessarily increased the stress following a bereavement and dealing with the complications of my mother's estate. Why couldn't I have been told this months ago so that I could investigate insurance elsewhere?

As neither I nor my mother has ever made a claim, Saga has rewarded good customers by simply abusing their time. I would advise anyone reading this to avoid Saga Insurance.

Needless to say I declined to renew with Saga. Found like for like insurance for the price I paid Saga last year. A small percentage increase may be acceptable. Greedy, over-the-top increases are just that. GREED. BYE.

Good reliable service and very friendly

The link to Trustpilot on the Saga car insurance website doesn't work: they really don't want to know what you think. Avoid this insurer: just talking to them and then not making a claim will raise your insurance premium regardless. And the chances are you won't be able to understand the person you're talking to on the phone, as their call centre is not UK based.

Good choice of cover and easy site to navigate.

Completed an insurance policy, after submitting and paying the first month i had nothing, no contact, no paperwork or email evidence. I used the live message service which was useless. I had the policy for 2 hours and decided to cancel. I was charged £20 for this service. Absolutely useless unhelpful, i cant belive SAGA use a company that behaves this way with its customers

Having cars for almost fifty years lhave always chosen insurance companies based on price and name recognition just in case something goes wrong ie an accident which Saga covers all these criteria.

We made a claim due to ill health and having to cancel our holiday.
The company sent us the claim form. After we returned the form, they quickly reimbursed us.

Once through to a real person insurance was obtained via a very capable and friendly adviser despite a fairly complex medical situation. It was however first refused by the online service.

I have had problems with Saga in the past when they accepted my policy and then informed I was not covered and later again they were forced to have to apologise to me and compensate me for the mistake.

This year I tried to ensure my home through them again and the following happened, I applied on line and ended up with a price of £244 but wanted to add accidental damage, unfortunately this sent me back to the start of the quote again so I tried ring up and sorting it out the old fashioned way.

After about 30 mins on the phone I was given a price of £933 so I explained the initial price excluding accidental damage and the following reasons were given.

None of this explained the difference, I was welcome to make a complaint but this would take a long time.
