Poor quality and poor customer service

It’s a shame because I liked the product after being gifted one of the wands and despite AI saying that it was just a ‘hydrating balm stick’ I ordered three more. When they arrived I gifted one of the balms and of the other two, one was grainy. I contacted the company as they advertised a money back guarantee.
I was asked to send a video of the product on the 15th June which I did. On the 28th June they agreed that the wand was defective in quality control and offered half the money back of my order. I agreed but it’s now the 13th July and still waiting for the refund.
Is this hassle worth it when paying £20+ per wand ?

Hi Vania,

We’re very sorry for both the defective wand and the delay in issuing the refund that was agreed upon.

Once our team confirmed the quality-control issue and you accepted the proposed refund, it should have been processed promptly without requiring any further follow-up from you.

Please reply to your existing email thread with “Trustpilot Review” in the subject line and your order number so we can prioritise the outstanding refund and ensure this is fully resolved.

We completely understand your frustration and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and time this has taken.

Best regards,
Nothora Team

Dishonest delivery company

Dishonest delivery company, businesses such as EE should really stop using this company.
I was supposed to have a phone delivered and the response was that I had not given the authorisation code. This was untrue as I could verify through Ring Doorbell that no attempt was made to deliver. It was then put through by EE for next day delivery only to come back with a change of delivery for two days time, again this was untrue.
My son had a similar situation in another area where the driver pulled up but did not get out of the vehicle but then put it down as a failed delivery.
This mistaken has cost EE a £600 purchase which I have now cancelled.

Beware – Major Design Flaw Ignored by Wren Kitchens

I strongly advise caution before choosing Wren Kitchens. Initially, everything seemed smooth – the surveyor came out twice to measure, and I clearly explained there was a boiler and consumer unit in the cupboards. Despite this, Wren designed a sealed unit where the electrics were located – a major design flaw that any competent surveyor should have picked up.
When my fitter started the installation, this issue immediately came to light. Instead of offering support under the 28-day warranty, Wren dismissed responsibility. Customer services (Vanessa at Head Office) promised to liaise with my fitter but instead just sent a generic terms and conditions email. We had already rejected those T&Cs because they contained loopholes that left customers unprotected – exactly what has now happened.
I’ve spent £20,000 on this kitchen and now face extra costs to move the consumer unit, which Wren has flatly refused to contribute towards. This shows a complete lack of accountability for their surveyors’ mistakes.
Had I gone with Howdens, as my fitter originally recommended, this would have been identified at the design stage. Instead, I’ve been left out of pocket and extremely disappointed.
Wren may look appealing at first, but if issues arise, don’t expect them to stand by their work.

Why is the app so bad!

Why is the app so bad!
It doesn't matter how many times I travel with BA, the app lets it down.
It slow and often I only end up viewing the lead boarding pass and spend hours jiggling until I can locate the others.
Come on BA it can't be hard to get this right.
It can't be me when AI and Reddit are posting the same.

Parking for Heathrow was a dream

Excellent service making parking for Heathrow effortless.
I booked Maple parking in all honesty because it was the cheapest with easy transfers to Heathrow, even cheaper for us when we calculated train fares from Essex for two adults.
I got an NHS discount from purple parking.
The directions were clear.
They took excellent care of our car and transfers were easy, just literally hopping onto the transfer bus and being dropped outside the entrance.
Will most definitely book again.

Easy to get hold of and very supportive

I am a landlord, and I contacted Mydeposits as I needed to unprotect a deposit and wanted advice. I spoke to Hannah, who informed me of all the legalities around this and gave me some very good advice. It is really appreciated, especially on a Friday late afternoon.

Waste of money if y9ou are wanting to buy a gift for someone.

I am trying to contact Buy A Gift as I linked three vouchers that are not showing in my account. One of the vouchers is showing as expired despite the attraction being closed.
I have been waiting in the queue online for an hour!
It is a waste of money which is a shame because they were really good in the past but now they cannot cope with their own success!

Complete waste of money

I initially had home emergency landlord cover with CET through simply business. They were called out for a lock that wasn't working. They removed the lock and basically left the door with no working lock. I cancelled my insurance with simply business based on this. I then took insurance out with LV. CET came out for a blocked drain on my residential property and stated that they only carry out partial unblocking which took around 10 to 15 minutes. The drain was still blocked and they refused to come out again based on the drain being partially blocked by limescale.
According to LV, home emergency cover should be carrying out a full unblock not a partial one.
I still have an issue with a blocked drain which CET are refusing to unblock.

Gives no protection

My husband and I have been using a Tesco credit card for over 10 years at least. We loved the clubcard points that went with it and felt secure in it's protection.
I was recently a victim in Thailand of counterfeit goods which I had paid for with my Tesco credit card.
As soon as I realised (that evening) I contacted Tesco. I was shocked at how unhelpful they were and are still continuing to be despite having a joint liability under section 75.
They initially rejected charge back claims with no explanation and no advice on how to appeal using section 75.
I have since appealed but heard nothing and it has now gone to the financial ombudsman.
In the past if I had any concerns with purchases I had gone to my first direct bank who always advised straight away. As this was a large purchase this was made with my credit card which happened to be tesco.
My advice is keep tesco credit card more as a general clubcard but I will take out a more reputable credit card that does what it should, which is offer protection against rogue purchases.

Corrupt company

My son had been involved in a terrible accident in Thailand and unable to now fly to his next destination which was Egypt.
We tried to cancel his trip and accepted cancellation charge, however the breakdown of the deductions were incorrect in their favour. There were undisclosed taxes.
When asked for the breakdown of the deductions or the representative to spell his name, the phone was disconnected three times in a row.
This company is corrupt and a scam. I would hate for others to be scammed. My suggestion would be to book directly with the airline. Our airline would have been ETIHAD which is reputable would have dealt with this.

Easy to set up impossible to claim!

Having a nightmare!
I am a landlord who has paid a good amount of money for this landlord insurance but will not be renewing. This is the situation currently:
Day 1 13th May 2024- contacted Simply business for two issues- broken lock and a sunken drain. I was told that I was covered for these issues and an engineer visit was booked. I explained hat I am the landlord and gave the tenants number. I kept receiving the messages but with the name of my tenant. I was given an appointment for the next day which was fine and I forwarded this to the tenant.
I was then told that I had an appointment for 01.00 am! I called back as my tenant has young children and would have been petrified to have a visit at 1am. It took ages getting through. I changed that appointment and the new call handler apologised explaining that the previous call handler had not inputted the information correctly.
Day 2: I received a message again directed to my tenant. I again sent this to my tenant. The engineer regarding the drain arrived but was a plumber and did not deal with fallen drains. My tenant is still waiting for the locksmith. My husband tried to call and the call handler kept hanging up. Eventually I was called and told that for fallen drains I needed to go back to Simply business and request a claim through the home insurance. I was unable to get through. My tenant has a fallen and dangerous drain which I still do not know if I am covered for. At nearly £800 of insurance, it truly is a waste of money, if for nothing else the time it has taken to try and get this resolved. I will definitely not be renewing and would rather pay more to a more reputable firm. They are fine until you have to try and make a claim.
UPDATE :Locksmith came but only made 'safe' not a repair, so I still have to get a locksmith. Drain, I have had to go online as I could not get through and I have no faith it will get done.
I thought it was such a good insurance for a landlord as they seemed professional when setting the policy up, but if there is no support when there is a problem, it is a complete waste of money.

Poor returns service

Two stars for beautiful dresses, however ordering is just not worth it! It is fine if the dresses are OK but returning is costly, a hassle and you wait a long time for a refund.
I ordered two dresses, one of which was faulty. The returns policy is that you only get a refund if they receive the item and the responsibility is yours. So as the only secure way with insurance was special delivery, I paid £9.95, of which only £4.95 was refundable.
I have now waited for 12 days and I have still not been refunded.
I contacted British Retro only to be told this can take 14 days, despite knowing that the item was received the next day through special delivery.
Better off using collectif or other online retailers, as well as these do not have good customer service.

Lip service protection

I used to love PayPal as a consumer, however, the protection it once used to offer consumers is a lip service exercise,so much so that I haven't even pursued a recent case because my bank will do a better job
My bank First Direct has been more proactive in retrieving money that has been caught in disputes. I have kept my PayPal open for now but have reduced my spend through them. I will be looking at closing my account.
