The installer was approachable, explained the procedures clearly, got on with the work and worked hard, not wasting time. He showed me and my other half the test results that we were connected and hel... See more

Engineers arrived on time
Engineers arrived on time , informed us of the procedure & were polite & answered our questions. They completed the work promptly & very satisfactorily.
Polite and Friendly Engineer
The engineer was polite and friendly. He explained what he was going to do. He made sure I was content with siting of connection boxes. When a security bolt was required to make safe a ladder he requested permission beforehand. He checked all was working properly.

The engineer was helpful and was successful in finally connecting the service. However the internal "politics" within BT and OpenReach has meant that it has taken 17 weeks and three cancelled contracts to get tge Internet restored

Excellent service - good information beforehand (although a bit duplicated) and the engineer was very efficient and helpful
Worrying bad engineer
Openreach solicited this review!
The engineer was worryingly unskilled and showed no pride in his job and left a proper bodged job hoping nobody would notice.
Small things like the wall anchor on the house is wonky, the cables going down the house are unclipped and just flapping about, not cleaning the dust from drilling, leaving random bits of rubbish on the driveway.
The main issue was the unit on the wall. The rawlplugs were a complete mess. One hole is half drilled and nothing in it, the other was drilled too big and the rawlplug loose and came out. The unit was just precariously left on the wall clearly hoping nobody would notice.
An engineer coming to my home and treating it like that is pretty bad and I'm really angry with OpenReach.
If they put things right, I'll update this review.

Not ideal
We had a confirmed appointment for between 13.00 and 18.00. Engineer arrived unannounced at 10.30 or so. We showed him to where our old set-up was, asked if he needed anything and he said not, so we left him to it. When he left we saw that all the new cables were left on the floor, potentially trip hazards, as they were not long enough. Previous cables were behind furniture. Had we been advised we could have moved obstacles in my wife's fitted craftroom. Engineer advised us to purchase longer cables, but one Openreach cable has a fitted plug. He could have left us with a longer cabled plug so that we could attach it ourselves. He could see that cables he left were not long enough to reach from the equipment to the electricity socket. We are very disappointed.

Great service!
2nd time success, but my home is not your ashtray!
This was my second attempt at installation. Having spoken to EE about the layout of my property, the first installer arrived and could not carry out the task, and installation was abandoned.
This time (months later, after the copper cable had deteriorated further) the installation was completed which is great - thank you!
The downsides / things that could have been better;
1) We were told to only expect a survey to determine what was needed (cherry pickers etc), but when the installer arrived he was expecting to do the install. He had not looked at notes from the previous install attempt. He started it in the morning 08.30, and then I had to wait in for the cherry pickers etc to come at 15.00 in the afternoon (which was not ideal for my morning appointment, as I had plans for the afternoon, but did manage to change things accordingly. I also needed to unexpectedly empty the loft in this time)
2) Cigarette butts were left on my driveway and garden. I have no doubt who was smoking as you could smell it on him. My house is not your ashtray! - Smoke in the street if you have to, and please do not litter with the butts.
