One of the worst after care experiences…
One of the worst after care experiences I have ever had to deal with. If this level of service occurred In my workplace (NHS) I’d be ashamed. I’ve had a battery related issue for over 4 month, initially sourced and installed by e.on. The battery is now defunct and despite constant emails on my behalf E.on have refused to send an engineer to review my issue. The lack of contact and excuses with a faceless approach to customer care is unpalatable. My advice as a clinician is pick a different company with a proven track record of customer care if you decide to delve into home EV choices. E.on just isn’t that company
Very disappointing experience with E.ON…
Very disappointing experience with E.ON regarding my Wallbox EV charger.
My charger has been affected by an issue which requires replacement, and despite this originally being supplied/installed through E.ON, there has been a complete lack of ownership from them in getting the problem resolved.
I was told around three weeks ago that Wallbox would contact me directly to arrange the replacement, but I am still waiting. Rather than taking responsibility for progressing the issue, E.ON appear to have simply handed it over to Wallbox and stepped away from the process entirely.
As an E.ON customer, I should not have to chase a third party repeatedly to resolve a fault with equipment supplied through E.ON. I would expect E.ON to take ownership of the issue, manage the relationship with their supplier and ensure the replacement is actually completed.
The lack of accountability and communication has been extremely frustrating, and the issue remains unresolved.
The worst!
Weeks of chasing them to attempt to update a single postcode. So glad I have moved away from them, the most distressing and frustrating experience I have had in a long time. Not surprised they have so many poor reviews, they clearly don't care for or value customers. All the while ripping us off with ever increasing prices.
Truly Unacceptable Level of Service from EON Next
I raised a cross-meter issue, caused by EON, back in November 2025. Since then I have sent many emails & had many telephone calls to ensure EON fix this problem (which has resulted in incorrect bills being raised against my name). I moved away from EON to a different supplier, however was told that I had to move back to EON so that they could resolve the problem, therefore leaving a favourable tariff. I have now been back with EON since July and raised an official complaint with them at the beginning of July. I have also sent numerous emails to Chris Norbury the CEO. I have jumped through every hoop that EON has asked of me, responding either the same day or within 24 hours. I speak to them every week, yet weekly progress remains the same...NO PROGRESS! What will it take for Chris Norbury and his team to resolve a simple cross registering of 4 meters? This is unacceptable.
Payment updating!!!…
As usual gave our readings for Gas and Electricity on the E-On app yesterday 2/9/2026. I do this on a weekly basis, as stated on my last post a week ago. How long does it take to update our account. I bet E-On would be quicker to update if I was crediting our account with money!!!!
UPDATE!!!
I rang E-On and was told that the system can't cope with me giving weekly readings without human input. The system, however, would quite happily be able to manage if I submitted monthly readings without having any human input. Ridiculous!!
If I could put a minus I would
If I could put a minus I would - We received a debt collection letter in 2023 for a property we manage but have never lived there we sent the debt company proof of the person living there and also sent the same to Eon.
Now three years later we have again received a bill (almost £1,000) for the same address and same time - I have contacted Eon who has told me they have 'sold the debt and now this is effecting my credit rating.
I have copies of all correspondence I have made, plus copies of paperwork proving I have never been responsible - Eon has told me to sort this out myself - so I have no alternative but to now see a solicitor and I am asking him to not only clear my name but make a claim for compensation re this nightmare
We use Eon for many of our properties, and I have informed Eon, once this matter is settled they will lose ALL OF OUR BUSINESS - disgusting behavious Eon to a company that has been loyal to you for over 40 years - avoid this company at all costs !
Shame on you for trying to collect £175…
Shame on you for trying to collect £175 two years after I left your company with no pending bill....it is absolute disgrace....
Customer service terrible
The website is difficult to navigate.
It doesn't show usage. I've had 3 bills of over £160 due to pay another on 6th sep. Even though I'm £350 in credit and last month's bill was £31.00. when I ask them to reduce the DD, they said they'd reduce it to £145 DD, I asked for funds to be returned and they said it would take 3 weeks and they'd only refund just over £100.
I also have 16 solar panels and they'll only pay what is generated after 12 months.
Absolutely terrible so I'm off to Octopus, never to return.
Disgusting customer service for priority clients
My mum and younger brother are supposedly on their priority list due to my mum's age and health and my younger brother having learning disabilities and additional health issues. The gas meter has an error-failed battery showing. My mum had Vico homes as she thought it was the boiler..They highlighted the risk. We contacted Eon who said that they were not going to send anyone until Tuesday. The situation was explained and we had to send a photo of the issue. We then phoned again. It was explained all the issues and they have stated that they could not get an engineer as National Gas (who supposedly supply the engineers) are closed today but open Bank Holiday Monday. The first time my mum has really needed their assistance and they were nowhere to be seen. I do not know how they have a high score for working with vulnerable adults but it is not deserved in my opinion. I would recommend going with any other supplier.

Why do standing charges go up just because gas and electric go up?
Terrible company to be a customer of!
Terrible company to be a customer of!!
I moved in to a new build flat on March 18th, 2026. To my surprise, I found out the electricity smart meter was faulty as it was flashing red lights and I was being billed on estimates. So I contacted E.ON on the first week of April to ask if they can replace the meter (which belonged to them anyway) and they agreed to do so but sent out an engineer a month later on the 8th of May to replace the meter with a new one to fix the problem.
To my surprise, the engineer (contracted) didn't do anything but rather just installed an in-home-display (IHD) device and told me my electricity meter will be working fine now which was a complete lie! The meter was still faulty I was still billed on estimates up until I moved out on the 24th of July. Honestly an incompetent company to deal with and I wouldn't recommend anyone to switch to them. I asked for a £40 refund based on the govt/ombudsman standards/procedures in July but the matter is still ignored by E.ON to this day!
Extremely poor customer service – E.ON admitted responsibility, yet the issue remains unresolved
I have been extremely disappointed with the service I have received from E.ON.
I decided to change energy suppliers, expecting the process to be straightforward. However, when I left E.ON, my final bill was not collected by Direct Debit. I was not made aware that the payment had not been taken, and as a result, the bill remained unpaid.
I only became aware of this when a late-payment marker was placed on my credit file, resulting in my credit score dropping by more than 30 points. This has been particularly frustrating because I had reasonably believed that my final bill had been paid as normal by Direct Debit.
What makes this situation even more frustrating is that E.ON have admitted responsibility for failing to collect the payment by Direct Debit. Despite this admission, the matter is still unresolved, more than two months later, and my credit score remains affected.
I have repeatedly contacted E.ON to try to get this resolved, but instead of taking ownership, I have been passed from one team to another and pushed from pillar to post.
The most frustrating part has been being continually referred to the Data Share Team, rather than having someone take responsibility for actually resolving my complaint. I should not have to keep chasing different departments to correct an issue that E.ON have already acknowledged was their responsibility.
After more than two months of waiting, I have now had enough and have escalated the matter to the Energy Ombudsman.
The whole experience has been unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming. What should have been a simple final-billing process has resulted in a significant impact on my credit score, despite E.ON acknowledging that they were responsible for the payment not being collected.
I expected much better from a major energy supplier. A complaints process should be about listening to the customer, taking responsibility and putting things right — not continually passing the customer between departments.
If you are considering E.ON, I would strongly recommend looking carefully at how they handle final bills and, more importantly, how they deal with customers when something goes wrong.
In my experience, E.ON's complaints process has failed to resolve an issue that they have already accepted responsibility for, and I am still left dealing with the consequences on my credit file.
Smart meter giving wrong cost of…
Smart meter giving wrong cost of electricity used each day. Smart meter must be faulty but they won't replace. Easy solution we have switched it off and they will have to do a manual reading. Very disappointed.
Very unpleasant customer service
Very unpleasant customer service, Eon has refused to close my account twice and hit me with a litigation fee and escalation after my second call to setup a repayment plan with them - they denied the ability to setup the repayment and decided to escalate the situation - during a time period I was frequenting the hospital for medical attention.
After consistent attempts to resolve the issue being ignored, had to make a formal complaint, EON is the only company that generated problems at this level despite obvious, tangible and documented effort to resolve things from my end.
Smart meter not updating every day so…
Smart meter not updating every day so not getting correct balance on app so can't top up.when making payment it take hours to show on account. Would not recommend switching to e-on. Slow at getting back to you if using WhatsApp
EV Charger Safety Fault
Been waiting 45 days so far for a replacement EV charger due to safety concerns, while E.ON happily sells new installations to web customers. Consumer Rights Act ignored, and no engineer in sight. Not the greatest service.
I moved into a property and i was sent…
I moved into a property and i was sent a bill from E-on as they were the suppliers at the time. It was a £275.00 bill for 30day usage. I spoke with them and agreed to pay it of at least£20 per month for 12 months. I moved out of the property in March 2026 and mad the final payment. They have now put the account on my credit file for May,June and then July. Even though the bill was cleared and no other payments made. They stated in July i had missed a payment. I contacted them and they said it was for debt recovery and late payment cost. Even though they sent me a final bill in march which stated only £27.50. They have now put a negative mark against my credit file and also not even sent a bill. I have contacted them but sent me a statement dated today which doesn’t prove that they have sent a final bill. I feel like they are just making things up to get fraudulent get money out of people. Would be interesting to see if anyone else has had the same experience
Probably the worst customer service I…
Probably the worst customer service I have dealt with. Multiple calls back promised which never happened.
The agents I have dealt with were inconsistent, lacked basic customer service and for a simple query, its taken months to resolve by back on forth emails. Constantly given different information, pick up the phone and it could be concluded.

It was going so well
It was going so well, I was saving a lot buying there off peak energy. I loved them ❤️... And then out of the blue they put over £7000 on my bill??? It's not one star because after I called them a nice girl fixed it but what if I had not noticed? Other than that I can't falt them.
