Great Service

I very much enjoy purchasing the accessories I need from G4M. They offer good value for money and if ever I have a techical query the staff are always helpful and informative. Today I requested clarification on the measured height of your bar stools. I'd previously bought one and now need another.
Your colleague Sarah-Jayne replied with the information I needed, clearly, concisely, and politely. What more could I customer ask for.
Thank you G4M. Keep up the great work.

Reliable and efficient

I live 300 miles from Andertons but never hesitate to order whatever I need. Though not necessarily the cheapest, in my experience they are 100% reliable and I'm always impressed how quickly my purchases have arrived. The staff too have always been efficient and helpful.

I like buying from Andertons

I like buying from Andertons. They're not the cheapest however they're mail order experience is slick and the staff efficient and helpful. I live in Cornwall and I've bought three basses from them so far. Two arrived the next day which I thought was amazing whilst the most recent took 3 days. My only criticism is that given the value and fragility of these items, they could (and should) be packaged better.

Review of eBay

Buyers and Sellers Beware

In this day of on line scams and fraud, whether buying or selling, eBay are just as precarious as everyone else. Over a period of ten years I've been scammed and lost out three times. On every occasion it was as buyer - the amounts being £75 and £33 and £120. I reported my losses to eBay. They did nothing. I've also had two other 'near misses' the most recent being only last week, this time mounting to a more serious £516. That seller is still advertising what I believe to be either stolen goods or using goods belonging to someone else ( a Yamaha TRB bass guitar). I reported my experience to eBay. They did nothing. There was also a previous occasion involving a £440 Yamaha bass guitar where the rogue seller had cloned the advert and photos from a legitimate ebay seller from Solihull. I recognised the guitar and notified the genuine seller. We both reported this to eBay who did nothing. In all these instances I reported the events to ebay. Waste of time. Ebay did nothing. The near miss I suffered only last week being just another example. Ebay are worse than useless when it comes to helping victims. So much talk of 'buyer protection' and 'seller protection'. Poppycock. They hide behind electronic FAQ and phone lines and emails manned by robots (sound familiar these days!) . On the odd rare occasion you do manage to actually get to speak to a real person either you can't understand them or they can't understand you. I wouldn't recommend eBay to anyone. It's too risky. And frankly you're on your own when things go wrong. Sadly, scammers know that.

Review of Rointe

Great Radiators but Fiddly Control Buttons

We have 8 Rointe radiators and 2 Rointe heated towel rails warming our house. We have no mains gas where we live so electric is our only option (don't like oil or stored gas). The Rointe heaters are efficient but expensive to run - though not as dear to run as the night storage and Dimplex heaters they replaced. The worst bit of all on the Rointe is the silly buttons on the control panel. Small, fiddly, and frustrating to use manually. Their operation is the 'achillies heel' of what is overwise a great radiator. Hence 3 stars.

Review of Cash Converters (UK) Ltd.

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Good and Not So Good

I'm a bass guitar collector and player. I've only bought on-line from Cash Converters (CC), I have never shopped at a store in person. My experience has been limited to buying bass guitars and accessories, all of which have been purchased from various CC stores throughout the UK. My experience overall has been good - made good, or not, based on the staff I've dealt with. Communication has often been poor, though occasionally exceptional. Packaging has been varied.
Sometimes poor but usually acceptable given the fragility of the electrical items being sent through the post to me. Accurate pricing is erratic. I would say that when I first started buying gear from CC in 2023 what I was looking for seemed better quality and better described with more attention to detail. Consequently I made regular on line purchases. Now I find the bass guitars in particular being advertised are just a plethora of low budget, mass produced junk. Only occasionally do I find something worth considering so I've been buying less and less. My golden tip would be do your research, know what you're buying. Much of the stuff on CC is overpriced and in some instances ridiculously so.

Review of Avanti Travel Insurance

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just Insured and off to a good start

My rating is based solely on my experience in obtaining my quote, value for money offered (Cover wise), and completing the application process. I opted for single trip Cover and I don't travel for another month so no idea how good Avanti might prove in the event of a claim, which of course is the true acid test when in comes down to assessing any type of insurance cover. The Avanti sales adviser though was very polite, very professional and most helpful.

Review of Nothora

Be very wary of this company

I tried to purchase 1 item from this company. At no point did i complete any purchase but they have now taken 6 transactions from my bank account. I have contacted them immediately but have so far had no response.
UPDATED REVIEW
Readers of my Trustpilot Review can see Nothora's reply responding to my original Post. If you scroll down further and read previous reviews posted by others, you can see Nothora's reply is a generic response to all negative feedback posted on this site. Sure, they say all the right things and promise to put things right. Fact is, they don't. Read the reviews. They don't refund and they should never be allowed to take money before transactions are authorised by the client. Be warned this is what happened to me. I merely placed one item in my 'basket'. Nothora then duplicated this multiple times then took the payment before I proceeded to payment.
This shouldn't be allowed and Nothora shouldn't be allowed to trade in this way. Be warned. Don't be yet another of their victims.
And as for promises to put things right? Again, check the Reviews. They won't and don't. Their responses are all about simply paying lip service purely to make them look like a caring professional vendor. A Company that steals my money doesn't even deserve any Stars let alone 1 Star. Sadly that isn't possible.

Great Tool, Point Scores a bit haphazard

In theory this App is a great idea and contains some very useful information for those targeting the purchase of a specific vehicle. However, to me, what doesn't make sense is a vehicle's overall score. For example, when comparing my same age Kuga against my wife's CRV, my car scores head and shoulder above hers (by over 150 points) yet her vehicle is a much better vehicle altogether than mine with a far better MOT and repair history than my own.

Review of RAC Breakdown Cover

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

A sharp decline. Not what they used to be.

I've been a member of the RAC on and off (but mostly 'on'!) for 50 years. In my experience whether or not the RAC performed to my expectations, and managed to satisfy my needs, depended on variables as to why I needed to call them out on the day. This included; what was wrong with my car, whether the RAC were actually able to provide the roadside assistance I needed, and how knowledgeable the RAC mechanic was who attended. Over the years this has varied tremendously however frankly I've seen a steady decline in service verses a sharp increase in annual membership fee. So much so I've now cancelled my decades of membership, especially after being let down (and fleeced) by the RAC just one time too many. That said I have to say on occasions in the past the attending mobile mechanic had been brilliant and I felt glad and proud to be a member. At other times (bearing in mind I'm going back over a lifetime's experience of motoring) and more recently I've felt let down, my decades of loyal membership counting for absolutely nothing. My last bitter experience was having been mis-sold a very expensive Varta battery when my SUV failed to start. It turned out after garage investigation there was nothing wrong with my old battery. But what really annoyed me was the new battery was (a) the wrong type and (b) faulty. The RAC didn't want to know. Turns out the so called battery guarantee isn't worth the paper its written on. I'm done with the RAC. I've cancelled my breakdown cover, car insurance, and other add on covers with them. Time to move on.

Great Holidays But More Paperless Inefficiency.....

I've booked holidays before with Love Holidays. Great value and good choice. Never been disappointed. Holiday arrangements could be better - too vague and confusing. Product of annoying on line paper less, people less booking system. My destination Carrier is with Easy Jet who are anything but 😔

Great communication from G4M. Product is strong, robust, and well made. Superior too when compared to cheaper but similar looking X frames. Guess you get what you pay for. Fiddly to put together. Assembly instructions useless. But would buy again.

Review of HeatandPlumb.com

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Beware

(aka Pioneer Bathrooms) I really don't understand how this Company have notched up so many great Trustpilot reviews. Are they fake reviews? Are the reviewers reviewing the same Company ? I'm beginning to wonder ! My own experience with this unsavoury firm has been quite diabolical. And on the back of my experience I would say to you avoid at all costs. They have twice supplied us with faulty goods. On the second delivery a bathroom item was professionally installed by one of the leading specialist bathroom and shower installation firms local to where we live. Two weeks later the item started to dis-integrate. We had to pay to have it removed piece by piece. The process took two days. We photographed it. Heat and Plumb denied responsibility. Photographic evidence was provided. Later they offered to issue a credit note only to rescind it a few days later for a reason which falls nothing short of sharp practice. During the course of my experience I detected some suspicious goings-on which frankly need investigating by the Office of Fair Trading. We have lost over £380. My advice would be to think twice, avoid, and don't repeat my mistake (as for reviews left by other customers, scroll down to older reviews. You'll see there are others who have suffered similar experiences to us).

UPDATE (following reply posted by Heat and Plumb in response to my Post)
As you can see Heat and Plumb have offered to look into this and have requested more information. My response to that is simple. Over the past few weeks I have exchanged many emails with one of your team, whose name is Manish. Following those exchange of messages we have reached an impasse, hence the content of my trustpilot review. Should your customer service require further details I suggest they speak to him.

Review of eBay

Don't rely on ebay when things go wrong

I will never use ebay again and I certainly wouldn't recommend them. I recently bought a used electrical item through ebay. The item was advertised by a private individual as opposed to being sold by a company or retailer. I paid £75 including postage and packing. Prior to purchase I'd contacted the seller specifically to confirm the item was in proper working order and could be used as soon as it arrived. The seller confirmed it could. When the item (eventually) arrived it didn't work because the seller had stupidly left batteries in the battery compartment for a long time. These had rusted, corroded, and leaked battery acid into the machine frying the electrics rendering it useless. I have tried contacting the Seller with no response. I have tried raising a complaint with ebay and unable to get anywhere. Ebay never want to know. There is no proper complaints procedure. What exists in place is designed to fail. They don't want to know. It's only when you get duped you realise you buy on ebay entirely at your own risk. There is no credible redress against the seller. I'm now stuck with a piece of worthless junk and £75 out of pocket. And the seller is laughing and ebay don't care. Hope this at least serves as a warning to others.

Review of Chelsea Cloisters

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great Value - Just manage your expectations

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Chelsea Cloisters. We had a 1 bed Studio Apartment on the 9th floor. I think if you choose to stay here you need to be mindful of what you get, how much the accommodation costs, and then manage your expectations accordingly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and quite frankly for the price wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Our only real complaint is that there was only one very small Lift in operation that takes - at best - a max of 4 people. This one Lift alone services hundreds of rooms and flats on no less than nine floors. It's woefully inadequate. There were a few other things we could also mention (i.e. broken windows, broken dining chairs, unsightly plaster cracks and bubbling paintwork) however the many good points out weighed these. And Chelsea Cloisters has a Sainsburys next door and just 10 minutes level easy walk from South Kensington Tube, plus a myriad of restaurants, take-aways, and small shops all grouped around the station. The location is so convenient yet relatively quiet and tucked away. Personally, we felt it was great value for money with our only complaint being a lack of Lifts to the upper floor (I'm 67 and partly disabled).
