Sven,
I don't think that you have to do these calculations by yourself. If you
specify COUNTER values in your data template, the building of diffrences
as well as the relative time calculation is done by rrdtool.

I want to show the user the current diff of kWh in each graph which is

So my calculation-thinking is:
DIFF = LAST-Value - MIN-Value

I put this into the following CDEF-definition inside cacti:

Hi,

I finally managed to get my cacti running.
I tried to add one cisco router, but it seems that the
graph was not created.

Error message from Graph Debug:
RRDTool Says:

ERROR: opening
'C:\apache\Apache2\htdocs\cacti/rra/solsis_core_router_traffic_in_11.rrd':
No such file or directory

Any idea?

hi,

just installed my Cacti and I would say it rocks.... but having problem
graphing from a different SNMP port. Actually I would like to graph a
program or an SNMP agent  that our developer created to monitor no. of
calls in our iPBX . This uses a different port and OID so as not to
conflict with the net-snmp installed on the same system. I've used the
SNMP - Generic OID Template but it does not tell what new port to use.
Kindly let me know if this is possible. Thanks.

I've seen this question raised in the archives and on the forum but without=

a positive answer, I'm just asking again in case something's changed or I=

missed a post.

The company I work for manages around 100 linux box and various network=20
devices. I want to start monitoring them with cacti. Is there any way to=20
automagically set these up (hosts and graphs) without spending ages manuall=
y=20
do it through the php interface?

I figure I can do the hosts by just inserting directly into the database bu=
t=20
have no idea what to do for the graphs.

Any help or pointers appreciated.

PHP for Win32 is supplied with pretty much all the modules you'll likely us=
e=20
(or in the PECL download from www.php.net <http://www.php.net>), you just=
=20
need to enable them in your php.ini.

IIRC you need to put php.ini in c:\windows and uncomment or add the=20
'extension=3Dphp_mysql.dll' line, and then restart apache/iis.

That's what happens when your PHP does not have MySQL support.  In the
*nix world, you'd recompile it so it does.  On Windows, I have no
idea, but that gives you something to look at, at least.

I used php 5.0.4 and cacti 0.8.6f, mysql 4.0.

Top shows 4 cpu's. The computer is a Dell Poweredge 2850, and I am 
thinking that I should be looking at the Dell snmp agent. Has any one 
got experience with that ?.

Hi,

If you can change the Index Value on data source just change the port
name to a new name. (ifName)
You should enable "Use Per-Data Source Value" in interface-traffic data template > Custom data > Index Value to able to change this parameter.
NOTE!! Some strange things may happen if you change the template of the
already created graphs! Do it carefully! Do a Backup!

The best way is to set the templates parameter befor you create any graphs with them.
I use "Use Per-Data Source Value" on this fields:

Same problem found on Sparc. No solution found :( But on the other
handsome times your server works 0n 130% that's nice isn't it :)

How many CPUs you see when you look on '# top' (if you have linux).

The RRA directory need a specific attributes for this
function. My Cacti run with 777 (chmod -R 777 RRA) and
i change CMD.PHP for CACTID (in 'C' language), the
result and velocity is very good for program make a
more thousand graphs.

I've done a new fresh cacti install, and the rrd files are created and
updated.
With this new site, I've drop all the tables, and push the SQL dump from
the original site (updating needed path). Then I've flush the Poller
Cash, et launch cmd.php by hand. The SNMP data are polled without
errors, put the graph in rra/ are not created (directory was empty).

Should I reenter all the data in the database by hand ( =3D~ 400 hosts :(
