Sven, I don't think that you have to do these calculations by yourself. If you specify COUNTER values in your data template, the building of diffrences as well as the relative time calculation is done by rrdtool. Hi there, I monitor my central heating with cacti including a solar panel on the roof. I want to show the user the current diff of kWh in each graph which is created. So my calculation-thinking is: DIFF = LAST-Value - MIN-Value I put this into the following CDEF-definition inside cacti: cdef=CURRENT_DATA_SOURCE,CURRENT_DS_MINIMUM_VALUE,- and put it into the legend with GPRINT. But the graph is broken, this is the debug code: /usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.11/bin/rrdtool graph - \ --imgformat=PNG \ --start=-86400 \ --end=-300 \ --title="CAPITO Solarbilanz" \ --base=1000 \ --height=120 \ --width=500 \ --alt-autoscale \ --units-exponent=1 \ --vertical-label="" \ --slope-mode \ DEF:a="/home/httpd/html/cacti-0.8.6f/rra/capito.rrd":solarbilanz:AVERAGE \ CDEF:cdefd=a,0,- \ AREA:a#EA8F00:"Solarbilanz in kWh" \ GPRINT:a:LAST:"Aktuell\:%8.0lf" \ GPRINT:a:MIN:"Min\:%8.0lf" \ GPRINT:cdefd:LAST:"Diff\:%8.0lf" I wonder why there is: CDEF:cdefd=a,0,- \ the "0" should be something like the minimal value, right? Did anybody manage to get something like this working? Sven |

Hi, I finally managed to get my cacti running. I tried to add one cisco router, but it seems that the graph was not created. hi, just installed my Cacti and I would say it rocks.... but having problem graphing from a different SNMP port. Actually I would like to graph a program or an SNMP agent that our developer created to monitor no. of calls in our iPBX . This uses a different port and OID so as not to conflict with the net-snmp installed on the same system. I've used the SNMP - Generic OID Template but it does not tell what new port to use. Kindly let me know if this is possible. Thanks. Erwin R. Hi, If you can change the Index Value on data source just change the port name to a new name. (ifName) You should enable "Use Per-Data Source Value" in interface-traffic data template > Custom data > Index Value to able to change this parameter. NOTE!! Some strange things may happen if you change the template of the already created graphs! Do it carefully! Do a Backup! The best way is to set the templates parameter befor you create any graphs with them. I use "Use Per-Data Source Value" on this fields: On Data Template ** Data Source: Name Data Source Active Data Source Item: Maximum Value Custom Data: Index Type Index Value -- Sini On Tue, Aug 23, 2005 at 01:21:10PM -0400, Travis Roy wrote: > I'm trying to figure out how to move the data from one switch port on > one switch (say switch1 port 1) to another (say switch2 port2). We are using Cacti to graph cpu usage on some of our dual Intel Xeon servers, and find that the cpu statis given by Cacti seems to be a total of the figure for 4 CPU's. An snmpget shows only 1 cpu; snmpget -v2c -c xxx xxxx.xxx.xxx ssCpuRawUser.0 UCD-SNMP-MIB::ssCpuRawUser.0 = Counter32: 136212319 Does any one know how to get snmp to report indivdually on the 2 Xeon's or better on the 4 hyperthreaded CPUs. chanana |

I'm trying to figure out how to move the data from one switch port on one switch (say switch1 port 1) to another (say switch2 port2). But I don't want to lose the historical data. I would like that to move with the device I'm moving. |

Hi, I've done all you say, still the same :((( I've done a new fresh cacti install, and the rrd files are created and updated. With this new site, I've drop all the tables, and push the SQL dump from the original site (updating needed path). Then I've flush the Poller Cash, et launch cmd.php by hand. The SNMP data are polled without errors, put the graph in rra/ are not created (directory was empty). Should I reenter all the data in the database by hand ( =3D~ 400 hosts :( best regards hugues --=20 Hugues Lepesant ---------------------- Ing=E9nieur Exploitation VeePee Tel : +33 1 73 02 68 02 119 rue de Paris 92772 Boulogne Cedex FRANCE |
