Avoid like the plague
Avoid like the plague, their warranty policy is next to useless and no one carries spares either if you want buy a spare part yourself.
I have NV650 camera system, the battery life has reduced from 3-4 months to 10 days. My local reseller wants me to return all the batteries, i said fine, provide me with a security system whilst this one is offline. Of course they don't do that, and I'm not prepared to have my security offline for a month.
Swann said they can't do anything either, I responded that what they mean is they "won't" do anything. I can't find any resellers in NZ with stock, Aus resellers won't sell to NZ and ironically neither does Swann themselves, even though I want to purchase one battery myself to confirm if it is the battery or charger at fault.
Their support takes a week to respond but does not comprehend what you have said. I've been round and round in circles with them and they just don't get it, and seem happy for my security to be offline whilst the batteries are investigated, returned and replaced, ETA unknown. How is that acceptable?
Swann don't care about you or your security.
EDIT: they're response below is indicative of their responses that don't actually help in anyway.
After 3 months of dealing with them they keep telling me the same thing, lip service, but not actual help.
Despite being in warranty, I am being forced to buy replacement batteries myself, once stock is available in NZ.
As for telling me how to suck eggs in regards to battery life, this is a stupid response, I mean low IQ response, I know my system and its battery life. Initially to be getting 3-4 months per battery was amazing, to suddenly get 10 days, that is noticeable, I live in a private lane, with no road traffic, only my wife and I, so we don't have kids playing in the garden chewing up battery life either.
Swann, give your users some credit, we know when things change, we know our circumstances, and how it works. If I'd been getting 10 days at the start I would understand, but to do go from 3 months to 10 days after only 4 or 5 recharges, that indicates battery failure. Something Swann by law should be honouring, but are instead choosing not to do.
I would report you, but I'm over it, I can't be bothered. I will be buying replacement batteries out of my own pocket. I will also be taking apart a faulty one, hopefully I will find the inside is just full of cheap quality AA batteries and replacing for high quality batteries fixes the issue and is something I can share with the world so no one has to buy you batteries again.
