Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 2,154 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently complained about missed deliveries, with many stating that delivery attempts were marked as unsuccessful even when people were sitting at home waiting all day. Consumers also struggled significantly with customer service, facing excessively long phone wait times and experiencing severe difficulties when attempting to reach an actual person for help. Some reviewers were not happy with online tracking tools that remained completely outdated or unhelpful while their expensive packages were significantly delayed. A few other people also felt that dealing with complicated customs clearance procedures and obtaining clear information on international parcels caused major frustration.

Deserves less than zero stars - useless

I would give less than zero stars if I can.

The sheer incompetence and uselessness of this company cannot be overstated.

Every single god-damn time I have anything delivered by these cretins, something goes wrong. Never able to just simply do their job and deliver something.

Why is it so difficult to complete a simple delivery??

And why do you never get either (a) an honest reason for non-delivery (always a fake claim of not being in) or (b) no explanation at all - simply that there was a problem.

What is the point of this company? All they seem to do is cause f up after f up.

Is incompetence a prerequisite for working for this moronic company?

Awful service. Dreadful. Disgusting. Useless.
Avoid at all costs.

Disappointing

Very disappointed with Royal Mail and ParcelForce. No delivery attempt was made, and no barcode or paper was left to prove they visited. The website is useless—after entering details, I couldn't submit it due to technical issues. It would help if they included an option for no paper or barcode left for the reference number. Overall, a frustrating experience.👎🏻

No credit for customs, more than an hour on hold, call dropped

Paid a customs charge for an international parcel. Website shows no charge paid. On hold for more than an hour to speak to customer service. Nearly impossible to understand the person when they eventually answered because the line was so bad. Eventually CS rep said she could not hear me and terminated the call.
Want a better experience? Try sticking barbecue forks in your eyes.

Not reliable

Not reliable, conflicting email updates that have nothing to do with what is actually happening. I spent hours on the phone to locate my parcel.

Dishonest Messages

A bit of a longer comment, but please stay with it.

As a receiver of parcels, over many years I've had problems on several occasions with Parcelforce miscommunicating and delivering late.

Unfortunately, things seem to be getting worse.

I paid a retailer for next-day delivery and they dispatched the item Parcelforce Express24. So, in the Royal Mail app (Parcelforce and Royal Mail being on the same app now) it showed due to arrive yesterday. However, instead of an out-for-delivery notification, it suddenly showed this message;

"We're holding this item at Rotherham PFW Depot. We've received a request not to deliver mail to the property your item is addressed to today. We'll attempt delivery as per the instructions we've received, which is usually on the next working day."

I made no such request. So, I called Royal Mail/Parcelforce (same phone number). After no less than 41 minutes on hold, I was advised I was in the wrong queue, and was passed through to a different Parcelforce queue. I gave up after a further 15 minutes of waiting.

I contacted the retailed, who managed to ascertain that the message was indeed false; it was in fact Parcelforce that generated the message as it decided to hold my parcel because it has a backlog and doesn't have the capacity to deliver parcels.

Apparently, Parcelforce knows this dishonest message populates the tracking info if it can't deliver due to backlogs, driver absence, broken-down vans, a 'r' in the month, or whatever excuse it can come up with for not fulfilling what users pay for. But it won't change the message to the truth.

By lying I suppose it's Parcelforce's way of blaming the recipient for its own incompetence???

The Trustpilot score says it all. But like so many businesses and trades these days, public and private, they don't care.

Very unpleasant experience when sending…

Very unpleasant experience when sending a parcel, and I've also had bad experiences with ParcelForce before in other instances.

I bought a label for my parcel to be dropped off at a nearby drop-off point. When I purchased the label, I declared my parcel was 28kg. When I got to the drop-off Post Office, I was told they couldn't accept parcels heavier than 20kg and was advised to contact ParcelForce or try another drop-off point.

I tried calling ParcelForce, but I found it impossible to get past the automatic assistance and be transferred to a human, so I tried another drop-off point shown on the ParcelForce website. When I got there, I was told they only accept Royal Mail parcels, not ParcelForce.

As a last resort, I had to go on the website and schedule a collection, which will now delay my parcel. That's why I wanted to drop it off myself, so it would enter the network today.

Ghastly lack of anything useful

Day1: Delivery failed as I was out. Card left. Went online to arrange redelivery. Filled in form with details on card, hit button to implement. NOTHING HAPPENED.
Day2: Delivery failed as I was out. Another card left. Went online to arrange redelivery. Filled in form with details on card, hit button to implement. NOTHING HAPPENED.
Phoned number on car: no useful information.
No indication of sorting office where I could collect item.
Additional attempts to organise delivery to 'safe place' all failed as button on screen does nothing. Same on 'phone after scanning QR code.
An unbelievable waste of time and bad experience from a company that used to be an important part of social fabric but now turned itself into a disaster area.

ExpressAM over 2 days late

Paid for ExpressAM delivery, item was collected tuesday morning (1st Sep). It is now friday (4th Sep) and it has still not arrived at the recipients address. I was on hold for over half an hour yesterday to speak to a customer services agent, and again for another half an hour today to speak to another customer services agent. Neither could give an explanation for the delay, nor provide a definite delivery date.

Paid for next day AM delivery

Paid for next day AM delivery, items was sent out Wednesday, its Friday AM and still not here.

Embarassing service, and not worth the time and effort, was stuck on phone waiting 1 hour for customer service.

Exhaustingly slow, especially when you pay next day AM service.

Poor Customer Experience

I had a delivery from Sri Lanka routed to the UK via Parcelforce. Parcelforce mis-keyed the delivery address into their system and tried to deliver the parcel to the wrong address. I tried to track the parcel, but could not clear their security check because I did not have the same address as they now have for the parcel. I spent 45 minutes airing for the phone to be answered yesterday (and was timed out when their office closed at 6:30pm). I waited 35 minutes for the phone to be answered today to speak to a person who could not help me because I could not pass their security check. A doom loop. Do not use this company for your deliveries. They are error-prone and have very poor customer service.

Another useless courier company

I was told by Parcelforce that a package would come today but of course it hasn’t. It’s stuck in the local office and they can’t be bothered to deliver it on time.

Waiting for an important item from…

Waiting for an important item from Germany but Parcelforce delivery guy thought it was easier to say I was not in and dump the advisory card on the road outside my home. NO attempt whatsover to come to the door, easier to say I was not in, problem was I watched him do all this.
Complaint to Customer Services (not easy because Parcelforce have hidden the link) and got a bog standard response. Even when I pointed out the delivery guy had provided a falsehood, still got the same copy and paste response.
Also failed to automatically attempt a second delivery the day after the first.

Off the scale incompetence

Off the scale incompetence. All the IT staff should be replaced by AI, oh hang on, did they do that already? Why anyone would use this Co. Is beyond me. The hours I have lost just trying to get something delivered is mind blowing. The decades roll by and still utterly useless. If you want something sent, fo not use these clowns
