Review of NatWest

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I'm a new customer regret

I'm a new customer ( 6 weeks). Decided to transfer my credit card to the NatWest because I was given a good deal BUT my word the online banking and the app is the stuff of nightmares.
Trying to make additional payments is horrendous. Its in built payment system doesn't support the Co op bank?? What that about? So I have to transfer money from Co Op to a NatWest account and sort code but the Co Op says NatWest wont verify when I send the money....Going to switch my credit card to the Co Op just to make life easy...the app maybe simple but at least its straight forward.

ALL GOOD

I've had no issues with Octopus. Customer service is even better than Bulbs my previous supplier which was excellent.
Probably will switch next month for no other reason than my partner works for the 2nd biggest supplier so will get a discount so will be saving money. Customer service however.......

Review of The Co-operative Bank

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Positives and Negatives

Positives they have a Branch in my town centre Macclesfield which is very handy for obvious reasons. the staff are lovely people always friendly and helpful.
Negatives the Banking App. Compared to say Natwest its pretty limited what you can do. Also online payments are an issue for me. At the moment I've switched to using my Sainsburys Mastercard for most of my online stuff because co op are making life very difficult on this front and I don't have time to keep phoning them up to unblock it.
Basically I've had enough now so today I'm researching switching my main current account to another bank, however I will keep my saving account with them for now.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to leave a review and I'm sorry to hear about the issue you've had making online payments. We'd hate to see you switch to another provider and I'd love the opportunity to help resolve this. I've sent you a request through Trustpilot for your contact information. Please respond to this request or message me on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/thecooperativebank) or Twitter (https://twitter.com/CooperativeBank). You can quote 'Trustpilot' in your message and I'll be able to link it back to this review. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards – Sammie

Review of Halifax

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I'm a slow learner

Bank account,Credit Card, insurance & mortgage. Where do I start? Halifax have an image they like to portray through ads of the " Nice Guys" . As a bank they were awful, not the branch staff, the organisation itself. Nearly ruined my credit rating through no fault of my own. My previous and my new bank though not perfect are like chalk & cheese compared to the Halifax
I should've left much sooner than i did but you know what its like to much effort. When I did switch they messed it up and i missed a mortgage payment to them because they failed to transfer the direct debit to the new bank...oh what fun that was. I got a nasty call off them. In the end i ran around sorting out there **** up
The final straw was the virtue signalling last year. That was it for Me/Him/it/They...you get the picture. Bank account was already switched, Mortgage was next, Insurance moved and credit card balance moved. They get 2 stars because of branch staff being nice but that's it!

Review of Three UK

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

its....ok

I switched from the O2 network and instantly noticed 3 things.
1) I was saving money, deffo getting more for my Poundage when it came to DATA from Three

2) There was a noticeable drop in 4G coverage in "some" areas ( parts of Manchester/Odham & Cheshire ) but that's the trade off for the money saved.

3) One BIG negative and one you should be aware of before you join is this. I have multiple accounts/numbers for family members and I wrongly assumed I'd be able run/maintain these accounts from one master account like my previous supplier. Well you cant but I only discovered this after I transferred. You have to have separate logins for each number which as you can imagine...ain't exactly a barrel of laughs and really, REALLY annoying if your the bill payer texting your kids asking them for codes to manage an account that you pay for??

Would I re sign when my contracts are up? Quite possibly...it's a bargain

Thanks for the review. We're sorry to hear that you are facing issues with network in the above locations. That's definitely not what we'd want for our customers. We are working on upgrading out network across UK to improve its 3G-4G services. In regards to checking accounts online, currently yes you would need to check them separately. However we have passed the feedback across to our team in regards to getting them all under one account, as we understand this would make it easier for customers who have multiple accounts. Once we have this available, we would notify our customers about it - Reece

Review of Avanti West Coast

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Pretty much the same for me

I use Avanti for my daily commute home 6.15 Manchester to London. If it wasn't for the different logo on the seats to remind you then you'd think you were still traveling with Virgin Trains. Same trains and even the same staff by the looks of it.
I do like the ordering drinks at your seat service though ( when you can get it to work). And maybe the upgrade for £25 to a better seat might come in handy on a crowded train one day?
Is it good value? God no. If you've spent anytime at all living or travelling in Europe you'll be aware of just how much we are being ripped off in the uk which is why companies are offering big bucks for the franchise but Avant are no worse or better than any other uk train franchise for that.

Review of Nest Pensions

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

It's a bit cheaky really

I, like the majority of people I guess, missed the Three minute window in which you could opt out of the Nest Pension because I have a busy life. This was done deliberately ofcourse because the people who were auto enrolled in general probably couldn't afford a pension. Which of course is why they didn't have one in the first place and so would never of voluntarily signed up for it if left to there own devices.
So what you might say, it's free money? Well it's not really to be honest because if your on a low wage your 3% contribution might buy you a couple of pints and a kebab now but in 30 years it might equal a loaf of bread if your lucky. you'd be better off investing your 3% at the bookies to be brutally honest, much better returns and you access your pot immediately. Or, if your sold on the pension thing....there better options out there people's.

Reply from Nest Pensions

Hi
The opt-out period is one month long and it starts three working days from the date you’re enrolled with Nest. When you save into a pension with Nest, the minimum contribution set by the government that you and your employer collectively pay into your Nest pension is 8% of your qualifying earnings. This is made up of money from you and from your employer. Nest then invests it, which, over the long term, should help your pension pot grow. It's a good way to save for your retirement.
Best wishes
Sarah

Customer Service

My new Hemsworth shower developed a fault as it turns out this Brand is a subsidiary of Bristan. I contacted Bristan about the fault and really cant fault the customer service. A week later an engineer arrived to fix the fault no question asked. Happy days!! But then it did it again and the above procedure was repeated...just waiting to see if it breaks again before the 12month warrenty runs out?

Its good...when it works

Its good...when it works.
In my first 3 months I've had 2 internet outages...and on other occasions had teenage kids waiting for me when I got home to tell me the wi fi has gone off again! Now this is simply fixed by rebooting or turning the "SuperHub?" off and on again... However..combine the above with the fact the wi fi coverage is pretty average compared to my old Sky Hub. I doubt I will renew my contract.

It ain't fibre optic but it's good

Was with virgin/ntl for 14 years but thought I'd give another supplier a bash.
Never had any major issues with Sky broadband even though I've gone from cable to old school broadband. No problems streaming Netflix, Now TV etc even while everyone else in the house is using the WiFi on mobiles.
Also when my initial deal was finished and I contacted them to cancel they gave me a new contract for peanuts...I mean so low the virgin media rep didn't believe me when I told him what I was paying. I had to show him my account on my phone to prove I wasn't liying....he was flabbergasted. :)
