As with More Than Movies on Freesat (whose schedule it shares), this channel is currently unsupported on tv_grab_uk_rt. If this changes in the future, I'll include details in the channel updates thread. Cheers, Nick |

It looks like the "with Claudia Wilkleman" has been removed from the title on iPlayer so Film 2013 must now be the official title. There are weird episode numbers for this series as you get episode 6 being classed as Film 2012 and episode 7 being classed as Film 2013. I can see why upstream the change to just "Film" made some sense but I am not sure what to do when it should change to Film 2014? I also suspect changing to "Film" may mess up the episode numbers even more especially if upstream they do not adjust for this. If we leave as it is now I guess it will be caught in missed/upcoming recordings January 2014 and a fix to Film 2014 can be put into place then. > It may be worth posting them to see if others have an opinion on > whether to rename them (or not). > Finally, note that it is possible to move a year in a programme's > title to the subtitle field, rather than losing it entirely. The following have been broadcast for 2 or more years: Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2012 Paddy's 2012 Show and Telly Charlie Brooker's 2012 Wipe There are quite a few new ones but not really prime time so I will see if they get another series this year. Thanks |

Mike, This is due to the (conflicting) episode numbering taking precedence, meaning the other duplicate detection schemes are ignored. > I've been on radiotimes.com and added a comment that the series > number is wrong, but I'm not holding my breath that they will change > anything. I guess it's unlikely that they will change it, but XMLTV might be able to help downstream instead. I remember seeing a similar issue last year (or even before that) with The Killing - BBC Four were showing the original series and CH4 were showing the US remake. Both used the same numbering which would cause the same types of conflict (I only recorded the BBC Four version via a channel-specific schedule so didn't see any issues). Without the current availability of unique seriesids for shows/reimaginings sharing the same title, we're currently at the mercy of these rare conflicts. > Is there anything that can be done, therefore, by a fixup in the > uk_rt feed processing? I've just put updates through for the first 3 episodes of the new series airing on Gold. Please poke me on the list with details of the remaining three episodes in case I fail to add them to the fixups (although I'm recording the new series so should probably notice). Let me know if the updates solve the issue. Cheers, Nick |

I doubt you will get anywhere with Radio Times and similar regarding calling it series 3. They will probably regard it as with the reboot of Doctor Who, where it seems to be widely accepted that the series renumbering restarted with the Christopher Eccleston series being series 1. This is a new series showing on "Gold". It is a new series, with series 1 and 2 having been made several years ago. Now this new series ought to be listed as series 3, but radio times, and presumably Gold have decided to package it as series 1. I imagine this is because they see it as a "re-imagining", since it's a new cast etc. This is completely screwing up MythTV, as it thinks all the new episodes have already been recorded, and is therefore skipping them. I've been on radiotimes.com and added a comment that the series number is wrong, but I'm not holding my breath that they will change anything. Is there anything that can be done, therefore, by a fixup in the uk_rt feed processing? -- Mike Holden |

I've checked the source files and episodes of "Film 2013" have been renamed to "Film" with a subtitle of "Film 2013". I've just added a fixup that should revert such episodes to the title "Film 2013". Please let me know if it works for you. > It makes sense getting rid of the year but is there an easy method of > seeing what new rules have been added just so you can check if you > need to change any recording rules for programmes otherwise like me > you are missing programmes that would be otherwise recorded? The CVS changelog of the fixups file is probably the easiest way to see the additions/deletions from the file: http://xmltv.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/xmltv/xmltv/grab/uk_rt/prog_titles_to_process?view=log > I have a list of other programmes with years in the title are they > worth changing also - I can post them if you like? It may be worth posting them to see if others have an opinion on whether to rename them (or not). Two titles that I have removed via fixups that come to mind are the BBC Springwatch/Autumnwatch series. The grabber's debug output contains a list of titles containing possible years, so I am usually aware of which titles could be fixed up. Finally, note that it is possible to move a year in a programme's title to the subtitle field, rather than losing it entirely. This may help to preserve as much metadata as possible whilst keep the programme's title consistent over subsequent broadcast years. Cheers, Nick |

I have been caught out by the Film 2012 With Claudia naming change to just Film. It makes sense getting rid of the year but is there an easy method of seeing what new rules have been added just so you can check if you need to change any recording rules for programmes otherwise like me you are missing programmes that would be otherwise recorded? I have a list of other programmes with years in the title are they worth changing also - I can post them if you like? Thanks |

Dave Ja Vu is back running normal hours now on Freeview (since 3rd Jan 13) - no longer a couple of hours in the middle of the night. Hopefully new UKTV channel will replace it sometime this month. Sorry for posting a new thread I couldn't find the usual Channel Line up changes thread. Thanks. |
