Because of a security hole in TWiki the xmltv website on membled.com is currently unavailable. I hope to have the main page at least back up soon, but I'm not sure whether it will be possible to restore the wiki functionality. Robert, if the page isn't back up by the time you read this you could point xmltv.org to a mirror of the site somewhere else. The index.html is attached to this message. -- Ed Avis <ed...@me...> |

Ah, OK so running tv_cat after will merge the lists. Great. Duplicates are not a problem, I expect them. The stations and cable outlets are duplicated in the two sources so their programming will be duplicated, that's fine. -----Original Message----- From: xml...@li... come to think of it, you can also just set up your zap2it or na_dd profile *not* to include stations that are in the other one... that way you won't get any duplicates. You'll need to set up channel mapping yourself however. I have two separate listings setup at Zap2It, one for the cable supplier and another for the satellite supplier. How would I go about retrieving these separate listings and merging them into one output for MediaPortal? Thanks John |

Hi, While it may be overkill and hard to understand at first (and later). It may be possible to do what you want with a very few lines of commands (script?) to Logparser. XML files are one of the input formats and HTML is one of the output formats. Perhaps someone more experienced with Logparser could prepare the few lines of commands quickly. I suggest going to Microsoft's download site after visiting: http://www.logparser.com/ The Unofficial Log Parser Support Site Log Parser is a free command-line tool from Microsoft that lets you run SQL queries against a variety of log files and other system data sources, and get the results out to an array of destinations, from SQL tables to CSV files. To get Log Parser 2.2 (the current version), visit the Microsoft Download site. Unfortunately, because Log Parser is essentially a skunkworks project from one of Microsoft's developers, it doesn't have much in the way of official support from Microsoft. That's why I've put together this site to help Log Parser users. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=890cd06b-abf8-4c25-91b2-f8d975cf8c07&displaylang=en -- Stephen H. Hi Simon and Christian, If you're planning to implement this using XSLT (which would probably be a good idea) the scripts on this page might be a helpful place to start: http://dotnet.org.za/colin/archive/2005/06/28/38581.aspx By the way, if you use FreeGuide (http://freeguide-tv.sf.net) you can get an HTML view of today's listings by clicking "Print personalised guide". We are keen to make FreeGuide more accessible, so if you had the time and inclination Simon, we'd welcome feedback on that. Andy |

If HTML it would be good a front page with all the channels listed and then as next page to select the day and then a table with the with the whole day of the selected channel. It shouldn't be in DHTML or with JavaScript because the system isn't able to read such things. When it's in text format then the channels should be in seperate text files with channelname.txt as file name. Simon |

Hello, xmltv2html is a Ruby script that transforms the output of XMLTV into HTML. This is different from other XMLTV -> HTML programs in that the times are on the horizontal axis and the channels on the vertical axis. http://xmltv2html.rubyforge.org/ maybe... =20 Le lundi, 12 juin, 2006, =E0 13h42, Simon Eigeldinger <simon.eigeldinger@vo= l.at> a =E9crit : >Hello, > >I am looking for a tool which is able to run under windows which=20 >converts a xmltv-file into a bunch of plain html-files. >It should support multiple days. >Does someone know something? >Would be cool if such a thing could be implemented into xmltv itself. > >Simon > > >_______________________________________________ >xmltv-users mailing list >xml...@li... >https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/xmltv-users > > |

Hello, I am looking for a tool which is able to run under windows which converts a xmltv-file into a bunch of plain html-files. It should support multiple days. Does someone know something? Would be cool if such a thing could be implemented into xmltv itself. Simon |

And good to know somebody is actually using the grabber. I did not get any feedback so far. Please note that NET recently changed a couple of minor things on their website. Depending on your city, this might or might not affect you. In case it does, please get the most recent CVS-revision from Sourceforge and reconfigure. cheers, Max |

it's in the queue. RH7.3 is resisting to build, but xmltv on RH7.3 is
already lacking some modules due to the perl version shipped, and
therefore I'm giving up on it. So the next ATrpms update will have
this fixed for RH8.0 upwards.
Just for the curious: On RH7.3 it fails the tests with:

I install xmltv from atrpms, in a Fedora Core 5, and I can't use tv_grab_br_net. The program issue this errors. # tv_grab_br_net --configure Can't call method "print" on unblessed reference at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/XML/Writer.pm line 115. and # tv_grab_br_net --version XMLTV module version 0.5.43 could not load XMLTV module, xmltv is not properly installed Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/XMLTV/Options.pm line 321. This is tv_grab_br_net version 2006/04/18 02:54:28 , I can't find anything about this. What is the problem? I reinstall the rpm, and the problem persist. tnx in advance, Klaubert __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! I started using XMLTV based on the O'Reilly article (http://www.onlamp.com/2005/12/08/xmltv.html). I have a few issues and thought I would ask the group to see if there easy solutions that everyone but me knows about. 8-) 1. I'm using tv_pick_cgi to try to schedule my viewing. I've done a few cycles with it, so lots of never's and always's marked in the tvprefs file. a) it's very slow. long minutes per page while processing. b) a program is shown without time or channel (days are shown by name without dates too) the problem here is differentating between stripped reruns and first run shows of the same time (eg. Stargate SG1). knowing what channel and what actual time of day the show being listed is on would help diffentiate for picking purposes. Clear dates for the shows would also help. Also, clear marking of movies (vs just genre which is the same as are used for regular tv shows) would be nifty. 2. tv_to_text is reasonable, but the channel name would also be useful. Also it would be nice to have a flag to print out the extended listings you see in tv_pick_cgi when in the mood (or have a browser based viewer that can narrow the listings to your picked shows (with expandable program descriptions) as well as complete listings with picked shows highlight) Even further, it would be nice to know what shows were picked via always or yes (an always is likely to be a weekly preset in the PVR and a yes would be something that needs specific programming) Thanks to the people who wrote the package, and thanks in advance for any help with my specific questions. -- Carol Wang http://www.daoofsilk.com/ The Dao of Silk http://www.chineseknotting.org/ The Chinese Knotting Home Page http://www.skate.org/ Information for the Figure Skating Fan |

Hi Niel, Thanks for your request ... but why is the subject called "Belgian grabber" ... my original subject was "[xmltv-users] tv_grab_de_tvtoday problem ... tv_grab_de_prisma other grabber for germany?" My release was delivered with KnoppMyth R5B7 ... xmltv 0.4.42 ... an there were some additional changes on tvtoday website ... now I upgrade first to 0.4.43 and afterwards to cvs snapshot ... getting some problems with some optional perl modules like ProgressBar, etc. ... after doing some testing ... now everything is all right and works great again ...
