TopCar genuinely saved my trip to Tenerife. Their desk is located directly at the airport and remained open until midnight, while the other rental desks I saw had already closed at 11 p.m.
Despite having no advance reservation, they managed to find me a car that same evening, with suitable conditions and at a very reasonable price. The following day, I decided to extend the rental for the rest of my holiday, and everything was handled smoothly.
This was my first experience renting a car, and unfortunately I hadn’t realised that many companies require a physical bank card. During this trip, I tried to arrange a car with four different rental companies, but TopCar was the only one that offered me a practical solution without requiring a physical card.
Their helpfulness, flexibility and fair pricing made an enormous difference to my holiday. I am sincerely grateful and would absolutely recommend TopCar.
Great experience overall, finding a car was easy and got a great price compared to other car rental companies. Checking in at airport and dropping off car was a very easy experience, would definitely use TopCar again!
The correct vehicle ordered and payed for would help, the car offered was not even close to the 9 seat luxury van we ordered.
We ended up with a t roc which is nowhere near the category ordered, apparently the vehicle was available but it meant after 3 days into our holiday I would have to drive to the airport to swap it, will never use again, I’ve asked for money back and still not got anywhere, our party had to split and they had to pay £60 euro for taxi to and from airport and they went halves on the 9 seater, still waiting for compensation, if you want a smooth journey the other end don’t use top car, we could just about fit 4 cases in one case had to go in the middle between my daughters on the back seat
Easy to use, fair prices. No heavy deposits. Will definitely reccomend and use again myself. Thanks alot.
Excellent service from start to finish - easy to book on line and seemless at Las Palmas Airport both collecting and returning the car. Competitive prices and car was imaculate. Will definitly use Top Car again for any car hire needs.
Good value. Friendly staff. I didnt feel like i was getting shafted!
Thank you.

I was shocked about 900€ deposit, that’s horrible, but we really needed the car so we chose the option of the insurence. The woman in office wasn’t really nice to us, she was shocked that we wanted to take a picture of place where we can leave the car in the AirPort. She did not speak english really well. The car smelled horible and wasnt in good condition. I would not chose top car again.

Overall, we had a very pleasant experience with TopCar. The car was comfortable, clean and in very good condition, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately, during our holiday the headlight was damaged. I was very relieved that we had chosen full insurance, so the incident did not create any additional problems or costs for us. Of course, it was still a little uncomfortable to continue our holiday driving a car with a damaged headlight, but the experience definitely taught me an important lesson: when renting a car, I will always choose full insurance!
The only aspect that I think could be explained more clearly is the car return procedure at the airport. We were told to return the car to the same place where we picked it up, but when arriving at the airport for departure, access and directions to the correct outdoor parking area were not very clear to us. As tourists who are not familiar with the airport, this can be quite confusing.
It would be very helpful if TopCar could provide customers with clearer and more detailed instructions about exactly where and how to return the car at the airport.
Apart from this, our experience was very positive: a clean and comfortable car, friendly staff and, thanks to the full insurance, complete peace of mind when an unexpected incident occurred.

⭐️ 1 Star – Very disappointing and concerning
Very poor experience with TopCar. The vehicles provided had tyres in extremely poor condition, and one replacement vehicle arrived with an “engine fault – repair needed” warning light. Despite this, I was actually asked to drive the vehicle back to the airport to change it again, which I found extremely concerning from a safety perspective.
Communication was also very poor. I spent hours chasing replies through email, contact forms, WhatsApp and social media just to get issues addressed. The third vehicle was eventually fine, but the tyres were again in poor condition.
Overall, far too much time wasted dealing with problems that should have been identified and resolved before the vehicles were handed over. I would not use TopCar again.
**UPDATE** TopCar have since replied to my Review to say ALL fees were waived, they were not. Some were, but when I requested that all were removed they insisted that they still had to charge me the recovery fee. So even now their communication skills (internally and externally) are poor.

Te car wasn't completely cleaned, there were some empty cans in the car. The antenna that was suppost to be on the car wasn't there, so there was no DAB radio possible and a little FM. Further the brakes were grinding metal on metal. And the trunk cover didn't open when we opened the lit. So a lot of problems with Chinese MG ZS car. And again not the car we booked.

Revising my review from 1 star to 3 in light of a late resolution of the issue (after I'd submitted my Trustpilot review and also after I'd been emailing them directly for over a week when the issue remained unresolved). Leaving the rest of the review intact for reference.
When something goes wrong, TopCar cannot be trusted to resolve it fairly and in an emergency situation, I don't trust that I can get hold of them!
Collecting the car at Tenerife airport was OK, though we were downgraded when we arrived because they didn't have the car we ordered (most companies upgrade you when they can't give you what you've ordered, I think). We asked the staff if the car had satnav and were told it did - but we'd need to download the Android Auto app and connect a phone to the car by cable for it to work (which we couldn't do until we got to the hotel to access wifi/unpack cables etc) - though once we did this, we found the car did NOT actually have sat nav installed.
We used the car to drive to the hotel and then for a 2 short runs to the local town for dinner and then half way through our holiday, the key fob ran out of power and the car wouldn't open. We tried for 30mins before contacting TopCar, first using their online chat which said it was transferring me to an operator but actually did nothing (which we discovered after waiting over 20mins). Our hotel then called the 2 numbers we could find for emergency contacts for TopCar - neither were picked up and there was an answer phone message in Spanish. By this time, we were late for the event we'd hoped to drive to (a Fiesta in a local town) so ended up getting a taxi to the local town (and back) for our dinner reservations. The next morning, we were able to reach TopCar, who agreed to replace our car - though it meant spending several hours of my day discussing, agreeing, reinspecting the new car etc. They told us they'd upgrade our car for the rest of the trip as an apology - I told them I just wanted the missing time refunded and didn't need the upgrade but we got the upgraded car anyway. Upgrade just meant it was Automatic though - the car actually felt like a downgrade as it was significantly underpowered compared to the car we had previously (think it was a 1 litre so struggled on the slopes of Tenerife). It also didn't have satnav. The fuel gauge flipped from full to the next level down within a few minutes of driving so the tank clearly wasn't full when we got it.
When we returned the car (which was easy to do), I complained about the missing days when we couldn't use the car (and costs incurred because of this) and was told I needed to complain online. I did this when I returned home. The initial reaction was to deny I'd even tried to contact them about the issue - fortunately I had screenshots of their online chat so they then acknowledged the issue but said they wouldn't pay me back for the taxis I needed to get because my hire car didn't work, nor would I get any compensation for the time I wasn't able to use it. They instead offered me 15% discount of a future booking. Considering I got a 10% discount just for filling in my online feedback, they've effectively offered me only an extra 5% discount off a future booking in exchange for nearly 2 days of missing car hire - where I'd paid for the car AND had to pay taxi costs as well. Fortunately the car stopped working at the hotel because if I'd been stranded on a roadside, knowing that TopCar isn't instantly or easily accessible (in that they didn't reply to any of my outreaches on the Saturday when my fob stopped working), we could easily have been stranded. Most companies compensate when they do something wrong but TopCar customer service isn't even prepared to make the situation right with some form of refund on the cost of the car for the time not used (which seems like the minimum reasonable response to me). Very disappointed and proves you can't trust TopCar so won't be using them again and urge others to consider carefully based on my experience.

One **star – very disappointing experience**
We hired a car from TopCar Tenerife for 6 days and unfortunately the car we were given was in very poor condition The car clearly needed a service, with red-warning lights flashing on the dashboard, there was no windscreen washer fluid and the car seriously struggled to get up Tenerife’s hills At times it felt completely underpowered and was not what I would expect from a hire car.
The staff were okay, but unfortunately they didn’t seem particularly concerned when these issues were raised.
I understand hire cars aren’talways brand new, but basic maintenance and safety should be a priority. We paid for a car that we expected to be reliable and roadworthy, and this certainly wasn’t the standard we expected.
Very disappointing and, based on our experience, we wouldn’t use TopCar again or recommend them.

They gave me a Skoda fabia that drive amazing, better that other cars, had lots of power for uphill, the hiring proces was very easy, and to return the car just gave the key and left. Another plus is that the car is tight in the airport, no need to take a minibus that is time consuming
