Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 235 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people find the platform's user experience frustrating due to constant, disruptive advertisements that hinder content access and navigation. Reviewers frequently report the website is no longer enjoyable, citing irrelevant search results and a cluttered homepage. A significant concern is the prevalence of misleading ads and undesirable products from unofficial sites, which consumers feel the platform fails to address. Users also face account suspensions, permanent deactivations, and loss of saved content without clear reasons. However, some customers still find value for discovering ideas and inspiration, especially for crafts, recipes, and home designs. These users appreciate the visual nature of the site for collecting and organizing content, genuinely enjoying it for simple references.

Pinterest used to be great Not anymore

Pinterest used to be great Not anymore. Constant Ads causing delays in opening content or disrupting viewing/reading so much so it makes it impossible to actually open up and read/look at anything. I find my self getting so frustrated I close out and sometime even trying to close out is difficult due to the ads! Don’t waste your time cause that’s all you’ll be doing. Pinterest really does Suck! Actually this experience has been for quite some time! Today I decided to never go back

BAN BAN BAN

Pinterest must be a hardcore BIGBANG fan — they’re always going ban ban ban. The review system is trash.

Used to be great. Now it's unbearable.

I can barely use Pinterest for 1 minute before being so frustrated by ads that I close the app. The amount of ads is absolutely unbearable. The ones that move are especially infuriating. Pinterest used to be a great app, and it has continually gone downhill with the insane amount of ads and AI. My entire feed is filled with ads and there is barely any user-generated content. PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR USERS!

Pinterest used to be my go-to place for design inspiration, but lately, the feed is flooded with irrelevant sponsored posts and weird AI images. It is getting harder to find genuine creative ideas among all this clutter.

It’s all adds

It’s all adds. Totally boring. You can hide the adds but scroll down two columns and there’s all the same adds you just hid. Turned into a garbage site

Bro it’s trash

Bro it’s trash. And they make sure to purposely give you non related stuff to things you look up so you spend more time on the app. Also I have to tap multiple times on the search bar… yet when there is an AD all the sudden it’s EXTREMELY touch sensitive. Also it wont let me upload anything because the HORRIBLE ai moderation system and the warning it gave wasnt even related to uploading pins. They also haven’t fixed ANY bugs for years. They’re so money greedy and desperate it pmo. Whoever is giving this a 5 star is a NPC.

It's all ai now

It's all ai now. The ai has gotten out of control with this website. Nothing is real any more or remotely realistic. Even stuff you make your self and post online they use some ai filter and say it's "ai made when it's not."

You did not use to have to be forced signed in to be able to view the website. This has changed. I find this frustrating and have gone to other websites for photos now.

Pintrest is virtually unusable without an adblocker. The only way this site is remotely useable is with an adblocker other wise about 30% of the page is populated with ads. I've had to report some questionable ones as well over the years.

Many artists also use pintrest photos or ai photos for references and once you see this you can't unsee it. I only know this because our art teacher said "just use pintrest" Now when I look on etsy I see similar reference photos to many images. While it isn't illegal it also isn't ethical but you can do this.

Pintrest has really tanked over the years and it use to be a good go to source for ideas.

Fake and scam

It is already indicative that, when writing this review, I was asked: "what went wrong this time?". THIS TIME! Things go wrong with Pinterest all the time! Please, never, never respond to any advertisement you receive through Pinterest; many of the companies advertised there are scammers! Also one I fell for: Shonobo, with an apparently high quality coin of The Lord of the Rings 25th anniversary of the movie. Described as "high relief, hand painted", and in reality a metal coin with a sticker on the front and one on the back, nothing like relief, and certainly not hand painted. I should have known better; most info on Pinterest is fake, designed by AI. Infuriating!

Violation of consumer rights and requesting confidential information.

I am requesting an immediate escalation of my issue to a human supervisor/Data Protection Officer. Your support team is forcing me to provide my Passport/Government ID after you unilaterally disabled the Facebook login, which I used for years. This is a severe violation of privacy and data minimization. I have already drafted a formal complaint to the relevant Data Protection Authorities (GDPR/BBB) regarding this coercive data collection practice. My account access was not based on Passport verification when I created it via Facebook, and this new requirement is unlawful. I do not consent to this. Restore my account now."

Pinterest used to be a safe space for inspiration but they have absolutely ruined their app this year. It has become a platform for advertisement more than anything else and the user's experience has been turned into a confrontation with overstimulating and often unsensitive Ads. It's a shame!

Sexualised ads you can't hide

Now Pinterest have done some sort of deal with Google ads. You get offensive sexualised images and videos for apps in the play store. You cannot use the normal hide function that you would normally use for unpleasant images on Pinterest. It has been switched off. Nor can you report them direct to Pinterest as the report function links direct to the Google play store. Also videos autoplay even if you have switched off that Pinterest function. A new low for Pinterest and really offensive.

Do not trust this site

While there are very interesting pictures on this site, you're liable to get your account closed without notice and for no cause. There is a message indicating there was a problem with a picture you liked or shared but it does not contain the picture in question and the link is disactivated. Quite mysterious!

Great platform ruined

I used to love Pinterest, and I genuinely trusted the platform.

Unfortunately, it now feels like Pinterest has become just another ad-driven platform, very similar to Meta: focused on pushing paid campaigns while small creators are left with declining reach.

My reach used to be strong. Now it has dropped badly, despite me continuing to follow Pinterest’s own guidelines on what to post and how to post.

I was also seriously considering starting a paid campaign, but my experience with Pinterest’s campaign support was unacceptable. For the first scheduled call, the representative simply did not show up. I waited on the video call for 15 minutes, and no one joined. On the second call, someone did show up, only for me to find out that I had been assigned to the wrong person for my region. I was told I would be reassigned, but after three follow-ups and almost three weeks, I am still waiting.

Pinterest puts so much effort into pushing creators and small businesses to start campaigns. The business profile is practically built around encouraging people to spend money on ads. But when someone is actually ready to invest, the support is slow, disorganized, and unprofessional.

It feels disrespectful to the small creators and businesses who helped make the platform valuable in the first place. At this point, it is very difficult to trust Pinterest. You cannot aggressively push people to pay for advertising while failing to provide even basic professional support.

Pinterest hosts numerous fake shops that take your money and that's where it ends. It appears to be of no concern that their users are ripped off but I guess that the scammers pay Pinterest so all is fine for Pinterest.

I used to love pinterest

I used to love pinterest. it was my go to site for ideas and recipes. Now, I can't stand it. The ads that CONSTANTLY pop up are so incredibly annoying it's not funny. Not to mention the scam pages on there. I avoid it most of the time now which is pretty sad but it's the truth.

Fraudulent advertising

I have filed a complaint with Pinterest regarding multiple vendors advertising the same product. Pinterest needs to better vet their (sponsored) vendors!
I will not order through ANY vendors advertising through Pinterest!
