Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 235 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people find the platform's user experience frustrating due to constant, disruptive advertisements that hinder content access and navigation. Reviewers frequently report the website is no longer enjoyable, citing irrelevant search results and a cluttered homepage. A significant concern is the prevalence of misleading ads and undesirable products from unofficial sites, which consumers feel the platform fails to address. Users also face account suspensions, permanent deactivations, and loss of saved content without clear reasons. However, some customers still find value for discovering ideas and inspiration, especially for crafts, recipes, and home designs. These users appreciate the visual nature of the site for collecting and organizing content, genuinely enjoying it for simple references.

Garbage platform

Garbage platform, horrible UI. Its dead anyways.

Edit: Its such dog**it, i cant even delete pins or my profile. Nothing works on this thing. Everything is spammy, half of the page consists of popups and buttons to make me pay them to advertise my pins.

Do NOT use this, if you are a business owner. No traffic, only headache.

Bye bye good old Pintrest, hello money grabbing and AI SLOP

Pinterest used to be a kind of safe place social media for me, now it’s filled with AI generated content that I can never seem to get rid of and the amount of ads makes it unpleasant to be on. I went into my feed today and tell my why I didn’t even need to scroll out of the 6 pins I could see without doing anything 3 of them were ads, 2 of them being the SAME AD?!?!!! WHYYYY. This app is RUINED just like every other social media platform.

They have many adds that are misleading and did not receive items I bought 2 times. They used Amazon fake add to make you think it's real. Was charged on debt from Hong Kong, China. No way to track them and shipping company lied and said they were delivered. Worst site ever.

Fraudulent adverts are rife

I used to enjoy Pinterest but it now has two issues. In the last year the number of adverts has increased to such an extent that you will see almost as many ads as suggestdd pins. If that was already bad enough some ads e.g Temu use images that appear like pins but actually then take you to their website. This brings us to second problem - lots and I mean LOTs of these ads are fraudulent. Either the advert is misleading or it links to known scam websites. Some of these are quite subtle. Pinterest is "Working on this" but the last 12 months would suggest otherwise. I would avoid Pinterest until this is properly addressed.

Pinterest has been ruined

Pinterest has been ruined! It used to be a great place to find cool ideas but it's changed so much that I don't even enjoy going on anymore. Way too many ads. Way too many links to other sites that don't even relate to the photo you were interested in. Even the feed is just showing me the same things I've already seen. Whoever thought these "improvements " were good should be fired. PLEASE bring back the old Pinterest!!

Things are getting ridiculous

Things are getting ridiculous!
They keep removing pins on baseless grounds. Flagging images for adult content when there’s absolutely nothing adult about it.
I’ll be leaving soon… it’s starting to get unbearable!
Also all ai slop and ads!

This site does nothing to vet their advertisers for their integrity, shipping, and overall customer service. Always only buy from Amazon never use the Pinterest site to purchase. These fools won't even let you complain directly to Pinterest. In fact of the 50+ reviews none had been resolved. Stop using Pinterest let them go broke.

A feed full of ads, AI and low-quality organic pins.

I’ve been a Pinterest user for over 10 years, but the platform has become unusable. What used to be a beautiful space for inspiration is now flooded with ads (easily 90% of what you see is sponsored content), on both mobile and desktop. On top of that, the feed is overrun with low-quality AI-generated images that add no real value. The quality of organic, genuine pins has dropped drastically, and it’s nearly impossible to find real inspiration anymore. It feels less like a creative platform and more like a shopping mall full of fake imagery. Really sad to see what it’s become.

This Platform Doesn't Care About You

A bloated, ad-ridden monopoly.
After a full year of watching this app, I can confidently say it’s only gotten worse. The UI is lacking, the resource usage is way too heavy, and the platform is absolutely crowded with ads. If you run into issues, don't expect customer support to help you. It feels like they’ve stopped caring because they know they have a monopoly on this specific niche. The only thing keeping Pinterest alive right now is its lingering popularity.

"Aren't they even notice?"

They likely notice the metrics, but they are prioritizing monetization over user experience. In tech, when a platform reaches maturity, engineering teams are often pushed to maximize ad revenue and cut costs (like customer support) to please shareholders, even if it makes the app heavy and annoying for the everyday user.

"Is this a monopoly?"

Practically speaking? Yes, it's a "natural monopoly" in its specific niche.

While platforms like Instagram, TikTok, or Google Images compete for your attention, nothing quite matches Pinterest's exact functionality as a visual bookmarking tool and mood-board creator.

Because there is no direct, massive competitor doing exactly what they do, they suffer from "Enshittification"—a tech term for when a platform knows its users have nowhere else to go, so it starts degrading the user experience to squeeze out more ad dollars. You hit the nail on the head: they survive on sheer popularity and the fact that users are locked into their ecosystems.

Ads can't be stopped

If you create an ad in Shopify with a $100 credit they don't tell you can't cancel from shopify. They make it difficult to cancel even when the app is removed you will continue to be billed. There are 3 days between each ticket response and the billing continues throughout. NEVER START A CAMPAIGN.

Pinterest has now teamed up with Google…

Pinterest has now teamed up with Google ads so that your Pinterest home screen is flooded with ads for tiktok and stupid games on the Google Play store. And they are all moving images which you can't turn off even if you have the pinterest autoplay turned off. Nor can you report them to Pinterest for being offensive or inappropriate. Another ruse to make money at the expense of the user experience.
