We always buy our white goods from local business, in this case Cunniffe Electrical Galway. Our last big single spend was €3000+.
In July 2025 we bought a new washing machine from Cunniffes. From day one it did not function properly. After 3 call outs and a new pump being fitted it appeared to be OK. Our requests for a new machine were fobbed off, that Whirlpool made the decision after 3 call outs – playing on our ignorance of consumer legislation and a misplaced trust in a family business.
Promises of contact from the manager over that period never materialised.
In 06/2026 problems arose again and another call out. A valve was replaced and since then the machine seems to be operating properly.
My wife called to the shop to give feedback – we do not want anything; we wanted to inform who ever is in charge of what may be a better way of meeting customer needs. The manager was with a customer. Then the manager was at a meeting. Then the manager would call back. But the manager did not call back, one of staff did.
So, we have moved our custom from the east side to the west side to Peter Murphy Electrical, another family owned business. We needed a new chest freezer – because it was an emergency it was delivered within 3 hours.

Waiting a week for my washing machine , 4 emails sent 27 minutes on hold can't get any response, there useless I would look for a refund but I can't get anyone . Absolutely stay away

The prices for the products have been fair and the delivery fee was from my view even too low. The communication was outstanding, I was always aware about the delivery status of each product. Poor delivery service
Found a great washing machine, placed the order. however, unfortunately after circa a week I had to chase for an update. I was told they would look into it, I then had to chase again, to be told it was delivered the Friday prior (definitely wasn’t) so once again they had to look into it, I was then informed that they can’t confirm a delivery date - order cancelled and refund issued, but I’m still out the cost until they finally process said return! What a shame to not be able to process deliveries, it’s 2026 and you can’t provide a date so you lose sales. Thanks to Paulette for the help though!

You should be the one contacting the courier since you were the one who shipped the item. As a customer, I should also be provided with a tracking number so I can track the item I purchased.

My god. I ordered a washing machine on the 4/ 05/26. I am still waiting. Tried ringing customer care. Got through 3 times and each time was told they would get back to me when they get talking to the corrier. They never got back to me. Now I try and call them and I never get to talk to anyone. I paid 600+. I have never had this problem with any other online store before..

Was told delivery would be three days, chased them every day for a week and was told the item was dispatched and I would receive a tracking number. Called again today to be told items haven't been dispatched because their system has been down all week! Why lie and say it was on its way?

I ordered 2 items never got a tracking number meant to be delivered in 5-7 working days still not arrived , nobody pick up the phone nobody replies to any online messages!
The only time I got an answer on the phone I was told by a woman that she will get the tracking number email it to me and that never happened!!!!worst company ever ! Never ever order from them ! I emailed and ask for a refund …sure I am not gonna get any reply
Update : since then Paulette reached out to me and sorted the items for me to be delivered next week , I was told the system didn’t work so that’s the reason was no reply

Bought a Sage coffee machine - great price (very!!!!competitive), there were a few different payment options available which was very convenient with the "bigger" purchase like this. The delivery was very fast, earlier than advised originally, so that was a nice surprise and the product is as expected - amazing.
