I feel i have received Poor service…
I feel i have received Poor service over last couple of days as many other users have documented also. I find the manner is not customer focussed but more arrogant. I am happiest when i do not need to call them.....
Nightmare nightmares.
Nightmare nightmares.
I got overcharged nearly double after two years contract. Yet I am not allowed to cancelling because never get through the phone. The phone automatically answered asked the account number then asked for payment. That’s all. No another options. I stopped debit payment because I already over paid four months. Emails never replied. Posted a letter no any response. The only thing they do is continue sending bills . Why? Google them 2.45 million penalty overcharge customers in 2023. Now they are clearly still doing it
I’m writing this review after months of…on off broadband
I’m writing this review after months of on off broadband with eir every time I customer service or tech I get the same answers reading off a script no mater what my issue is, I’m told 5.6 working days for issue to be addressed in 2026 expected to sit at home with no devices or telly for a week i e been with sky and virgin in the past never ever had this problem with broadband and I live in Dublin City so no excuses about fibre not reaching the corners of the country I’m absolutly fuming I would never recommend eir to provide service to anyone
Terrible in everyway stay away
service price changes with no communication before, extremely rude customer service, terrible chatbot agent, would give it minus stars if i could.
Mixed review
Despite having to raise a complaint I think a rating of 3 is fair. This reflects several interactions while switching mobile and broadband from Vodafone and the quality of the software supporting the process. The ability and attitude of the staff varied enormously. The attitude of the staff was generally good but the ability in some cases appeared to reflect the level of experience and training and in some cases it seemed that the primary aim was to close the call rather than understand and resolve the issues. e.g. I was trying to reset account e mail and despite explaining received a similar email link three times all of which failed. On the positive side the delivery of the new router was timely and the (self) installation painless. I decided to switch to E-SIMS to simplify the mobile switching and while it required a visit to the shop to complete the transfer of existing numbers this was also OK (18 hours after sceduled time. I would not expect any serious broadband issues as the circuit is unchanged since fibre was installed and we have
Has EIR always been this bad or have they just got worse?
Last Tuesday 14th July our broadband went down. No warning, just stopped. After reporting the fault we received an SMS saying a technician was scheduled for the 21st. I work from home and we are in a bit of a mobile black-hole - very weak signal. Eir’s response to all queries is that there is nothing they can do - it’s all down to OpenEir. So after a week of alternative work plans, no TV, no landline, today the 20th at 9pm another SMS. Due to scheduling they now wont be out until the 27th. My sympathy for the EIR staff is waning. Why do they think it’s acceptable to blame another company who I have no contract with? OpenEIR of course are un-contactable as well as incompetent at scheduling. I could barely believe 7 days, but to tack on another 7 now…? I will of course look for an alternative provider, but in this area they are a virtual monopoly and it shows. Were they always this bad?
I switch my broadband to Eir in July…
I switch my broadband to Eir in July 2024. I had no Internet for about 12 weeks. They eventually sorted it and immediately my second broadband supply crashed for two to three weeks. I had to hotspot for this time because ours the office and I cannot be without broadband. I had also signed up for mobile in July but didn't risk switching from Vodafone after the broadband issues. The contract was for twelve months. At the end of contract I switched supplier bit Eir continued to charge for mobile at full price despite the contract being terminated and no mobile serviced having been received. They have now sent my account to Stubbs Gazette. If you too want all this hassle, then please sign up immediately to Eir broadband. It not, then go with another supplier. I'm back with Vodafone and sorry I ever left them.
I feel a one star is too much
I feel a one star is too much. I’ve had nothing but trouble with eir. When my contract is up I will not be renewing it.
SWITCH to another provider NOW……
SWITCH to another provider NOW……
Eir services are terrible. My 2 year history involves the following:
- First Eir TV unit needed to be replaced twice.
- The line connected to the house got damaged. Reported the fault on June 13th. Still not resolved at the time of writing.
- Sent out a mobile broadband unit. It worked for 10 days and then stopped. Told to bring to bring to the shop where they needed to do a sim replacement. Their system was down and couldn’t do a sim replacement….so still no connection for WiFi or TV.
Dealings whilst ringing Eir customer services,,were very poor. They cant provide updates, keep changing the goalposts on how long it will take to fix. A technician came whilst I was not there and had guests staying (no prior warning or appointment and this was a Sunday afternoon). After me clearly stating not to go and knock on the door, he did and the guest let them in not knowing any different (actually told the guest that his son would know more than him and left without being able to do anything). I called Eir to report this and they said there was nothing they could do about it as they had nothing to do with technicians but yet I can’t contact any services who do organise technicians.
It has all been a very stressful experience.
What a disaster
What a disaster , online booking broadband with this lad lewis cobble , , he said hed set it up , then didnt hear frm him 4 2 weeks , then he said sorry forgot , then he said be ready on 15th july , so i stopped my other wifi on 15th , waiting for installation of eir on 15th , but no surprise he hadnt even the contract put tru , now no wifi , so i cancelled my eir , what a disaster of a company , and as for mr lewis cobble , shit show
Shocking and appalling experience
I was contracted for broadband until 2027, I got evicted from my apartment, really not my choice, and had to find another accommodation, which I did, only to fid out that if I wanted to cancel with Eir I had to pay 1000eur cancellation fee. I basically had to impose my broadband to my landlady and it doesn't end here. First appointment for installation was scheduled but then we rescheduled it due to work commitments, but Eir has cancelled the internet connection anyhow and I find myself without being able to work from home because of this, when I contacted their CS line I was offered the option to use my mobile data from my phone to connect to the internet. I never had issues with connection or coverage but everything else is simply appalling, unable to help in any way. I wish I could go back in time and never sign up with them.
Five days and counting without internet…
Five days and counting without internet now, contacted Eir at the end of day one and no updates at all sent to us other than a text with a link to a ‘tracking page’ that never updates and is totally vague ie ‘in progress’. Rang them after day 4 and the person on the phone couldn’t have cared less -said they don’t get any updates either and it will take up to four working days from then. Absolutely ridiculous - they know they can get away with it due to lack of competition in our area and that is the only reason they’re still in business. Stay away if you can.
Was in eir store upper level…
Was in eir store upper level Blanchardstown shopping centre sun 12th july. Dealt with a lovely member of staff Chandan, who could not be more helpful ,kind an professional.i bought new phone recently an being 70+ had a lot of difficulty in undertanding same. Chandan sat me down an explained everthing in detail an set my phone so it is now so easily to use. This is not the first time i dealt with Chandan an always found him equally as nice an helpful. I do hope he is appreciated by eir,and that the company realise what an asset he is to your company.
AVOID AVOID AVOID
eir's business model seems to rely on making it as difficult as possible for customers to leave. The advertised monthly price isn't what you'll actually pay, with annual price increases pushing your bill up throughout your contract.
Then comes the cancellation process. I tried to give more than the required 30 days' notice to cancel at the end of my contract. eir refused to accept it. I was told I couldn't cancel early because I'd be charged an early termination fee, but I also couldn't give notice in advance. Instead, I had to wait until one specific date to give notice. If I called before that date, they wouldn't accept my cancellation. If I missed it, I risked paying for another month's service. That's not customer service—it's a system that makes leaving as difficult as possible.
Poor pricing transparency, poor complaint handling, and a company that seems far more interested in trapping customers than treating them fairly. I won't be using eir again.
Eir Excellence
Wishing to commend and thank both 'Philip' of the Waterford Loyalty Customer Counter, for exceptional customer service ; along with the Eir management in having the foresight to ensure such employees are the face and voice of the Brand Eir.
Personally having formerly been associated within the service industry, to include management in a leading UK market service company : I may be modestly qualified to know when service is genuine and well placed.
Maith sibh,
Beir bua.
Has to be intentional to be this bad.
My mother topped up by €20 which normally gives her 28 days of unlimited calls and texts plus data.
However this time it didn't kick in even though she got the confirmation text.
A slap in the face to call prepay customer care don't has a recording telling you to top up then hanging up.
2 departments constantly hang up on you after recommending the other.
The automated calls and online AI bots, both directing you all over the place, makes it a maze for the elderly and other vulnerable groups.
Horrible company
If i could give half a star I would
If i could give half a star I would. AWFUL service. I tried getting it but failed. I signed up and was given a date. They would ring me on that date to say they were coming. They rang but nobody turned up many times this happened and I was getting stressed. The girl kept saying ur call is being recorded like it's a threat. I was in bed sick a lot and my phone was ringing in the other room but nobody came to install so I gave up. Who's paying for all the phone calls.
AVOID EIR LIKE THE PLAGUE!
Worst company in the history of companies. Have had 3 different routers all with the same issue. Internet connectivity drops off for hours on end. I have to restart router and ONT box multiple times a day to get even a small period of working Wi-Fi. The so called “staff” on the phone for “customer service” are the most useless people I’ve ever talked to, rude and obnoxious. They refuse to send a technician out to my address as they claim there is no evidence despite admitting there are issues and having sent out 3 different routers. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!
Day 12
Day 12 , still waiting for internet/ tv /phone to be fixed. Don’t show when scheduled. Unbelievably bad service in this day and age
