Don't waste your time in short.
Tangerine uses "some" Telstra towers, not all and frequently loses reception in Victoria.
The app is buggy and if you port out your phone number once you realise the mistake you made signing with them in the first place. Well, that's where the "fun" begins.
You will likely be impressed with the short wait time to speak to someone, until you realise that their support crew is incompetent, their hands are tied when it comes to actually being able to resolve your issue and for those English speaking...it's insanely hard to convey what is wrong and have them understand in the first place, let alone be able to help.
I called to because whilst my account had been closed months earlier, I was still having funds debited from my account. I had no way of following it up myself in the portal because there is no account displayed, because funnily enough, the account was closed. I was forced to go through the above process.
If you're after a cheap telco and live in metro areas, you probably won't have too many concerns. Go 5km out of that metro area, and like me, you'll realise this Telco doesn't mention it doesn't utulise all Telstra towers, just enough towers to say they use them.
I had a similar issue cancelling my NBN (it started a bundle), I had to chase them to stop the direct debits multiple times after closing the account and only way I actually succeeded was to speak to my bank and block Tangerine from being able to make debits for that service.
If Trustpilot had a zero or .5 rating system you'd find these reviews much more accurate. 1 star is higher than I'd rate them.

They take money out of your account unlawfully after you've changed plans and have no contract! Complaint lodged with TIO as this is theft, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT use this company, you'll regret it.

Absolute worst customer support and service system. Paid for travel pack that they welcome you with in the country and after paying they say it doesn't work there. They say their customer support for mobile is 24/7, babcus! after wasting hours both chat and phone call they go offline saying not available. Can't wait to get back and cancel all services that I have with them. VERY POOR SUPPORT, STAY AWAY!

Really hard to understand them

I was with Buddy Telco until Aussie Broadband sold its budget sub-brand, Buddy Telco, to Tangerine Telecom. Speed was alright for a while at 500/50 , then within a couple of months I noticed the speed started to slow, but that didn't make me think to change my provider. What made me transfer my NBN to another provider is that suddenly they hit me with a bill of $120.45 for the month of july for no reason, while my monthly nbn was only $85 a month. So I logged in to my account and opened a case regarding the invoice of $120.45. They did fix the drama but lost my interest with Tangerine Telco. Not recommending Tangerine telco to anyone.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!
I have never had a worse experience with any other company in my life. It started when I had to wait 2-3 weeks after my modem arriving before I got a working I ternet it was my fault the line didn't work. However they billed me immediately for no service then once I organised a tradesman to fix the line problem it was not my fault it wasn't working then they wouldn't adjust my payment date to account for the no service then I experienced slow speeds and drop outs and rude customer service if they don't like what you are saying they disconnected you and you have to start the whole process again. Then they put there price up. So after 5 different complaints phonecalls in only a 3month period I switched providers only to be billed and they won't refund it cause they're saying it's for the previous month but if I make a payment when the modem arrives then that payment is in advance of the service and they won't refund me. This company are thieves that rip you off at every turn.
DO NOT EVER SIGN UP TO THIS COMPANY IT IS NOTHING BUT FRUSTRATION IT WILL COST YOU MORE MONEY IN THE END.

Do not use this company!!!
I moved to them stupidity for price. I gave them a 30 day head start from the day that I wanted to get connected. Along came service day, no internet. 3 days later, no internet. I went to Exetel and guess what in 15 minutes I had internet.
DO NOT, and I repeat DO NOT use this company.

AVOID at all cost - HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT
You'll get random support people everytime you contact them so you'll need to constantly repeat yourself. There's no recorded history of what's been done and they'll have different conflicting answers everytime.
It took a week for me to be able to finally raise ticket. I kept on going to support and they keep on saying yeah we'll book the technician on behalf of you. But nothing was actually lodge so you need to keep on asking for receipts
Submitted all documents straight away, then you're going to receive a call requesting for the same document 3 business days later.
Your case DOES NOT PROGRESS UNTIL YOU FOLLOW UP.
Should've moved ISP at the first instance of incompetence.

Awful experience. Transferred 6 times and all i wanted to do was downgrade my plan as we upgraded over a year ago to accommodate the needs at the time. in Fact we have been paying a full rate for 12 months and just didn't get around to downgrading and when i Chose to they made life a living hell. All they wanted to do was sell me bupa insurance and com bank products. In the end I asked them to just cancel the entire service. I do not trust them, we have had to call the bank to ensure they do not charge us again and block the payment or cancel the card entirely.

Have been with them for 5 years.. never had a problem until the modem stopped working a few months ago. Rang up tech support and no one could help all said it was broken and needed to purchase a new one. However one tech actually got it to work as ip address was corrupt, so i held off another month until modem kept switching on and off so i ordered a new one through them. Charged me $195 and 2 weeks later never received confirmation email of payment or despatcg notice. Rang them several times and no one could tell me where the modem was or what was happening. Cancelled contract and switched to a new provider that sent me a modem same day. Customer service and techs except one know what they are doing! Terrible!

Avoid at all costs. Absolutely shocking customer service since moving their call centers overseas.

Reading all the bad reviews here makes me feel like I may have good luck, but honestly I can't really complain. There were a couple of hiccups at the beginning, but for the last couple of months the connection (25/8.5) has been solid. 4K streaming without any issues. Very few drop outs and speed is consistent. Customer service has also been relatively response and helpful. Due to recent price rise announcement and cheaper introductory prices elsewhere, I have been considering changing. But not sure I want to now, as I could end up with worse...

Abysmal. Tried relocating my service from another address to new address and had no connection for weeks. Every time calling the obviously offshore customer service and technical support they were completely useless and had only vague platitudes about escalating the case which resulted in nothing. They also had the audacity to charge my card for a month of which I had no connection and said I had to wait until the connection was made before they could process a refund for services not rendered. Switched to another provider and was connected a day later, I will never use Tangerine again

Slow speeds less the 10 mbs on 500mbs plan EVERYDAY FOR LAST 2 weeks
You wait for hours to help. I’m changing services at the EOM

If I could review zero stars I would.
I was moved from Buddy to Tangerine recently. 'No price rises' was the promise. Within a month I received an email telling me prices were going up on my plan (1000/100) by more than 20%.
I attempted to talk to someone, without much luck. Got a promise of a call back and never received it.
Prior to moving over from Buddy I tried to contact them about their service, billing etc. Never got any answers or calls back on those occasions either, although I was promised a call back a few times.
The NBN service has also taken a massive slide down hill. With intermittent outages and slow speeds.
Their app is also horrible, the sign-in fails 1/2 the time, very few features within the app. Certainly not worth the money they're asking for their services.
Zero customer services available to users.
Never had an issue with my NBN service (FTTP) in the last 8 years until the move to Tangerine.
Needless to say I have taken steps to move away from Tangerine to Superloop - saving me more than $40 a month for the first 6 months.
I highly recommend trying any other NBN provider besides Tangerine.

They "inherited" me as a client after they acquired Buddy. I was more than happy with Buddy's pricing and speeds.
Tangarine advised pricing and speeds would not change even though they did not offer the 1000/100 plan I was on. 2 weeks in and I performed a speedtest. It had almost halved on the download side. Then, after a few months I was advised the pricing was increasing by $20 per month but they would give me $5 off for 6 months. Whoopdefuckindo.
So I switched to Dodo. Pricing was cheaper and I am getting $30 off for 6 months. I did it the day before I was due to enter the new billing cycle with Tangarine. Dodo was connected within an hour of signing up so I went onto the app to cancel my service with Tangarine. The app said I have no service with them so I figure it had been cancelled. A week later $99 disappeared out of my account and paid to Tangarine. I called them and, got the run around for 10 minutes with their stupid automated system. Finally when I got to speak to someone, they advised my service was cut off 1 day after the new billing cycle and their terms of trade state that I forfeit any remaining days and do jot get a pro rata reimbursement. I did argue but got nowhere.
Never again.

Was ok until it wasnt, internet keep on droping out to the point of unusable. Spoke to them to give feedback to improve the service but receive no incentives, never again.

The worst network ever! Only 1hour In24 hours has WiFi connection only! And when I husband try to call the to fix the question, they said,oh, because you are not the user(my mlname on the bill) we cannot serve you. Hope this company go broke!

This was a forced migration from Buddy after it was sold and rolled into Tangerine. It wasn’t a smooth handover. It was a full service takeover and it came with problems straight away.
My static IP didn’t transfer. That meant re-configuring everything on my end, purely because their migration process didn’t carry it across. Not optional, not a preference issue, just broken continuity of service.
Then a few months later, in June, they pushed through a price increase from $105 to $115/month under an “annual review”. This was after only a short time on the service. They followed it up with a $5/month discount for six months, which doesn’t change the outcome at all. It still lands as a net price increase, just delayed. It also feels designed to soften the reaction now and rely on people forgetting about it later.
At that point it stopped being worth sticking around. Between the failed service continuity on migration and the quick turnaround price increase, it became clear what the pattern was. I churned to a provider that keeps pricing stable and doesn’t shift costs upward shortly after on-boarding.
