I put in a transfer and it went through, So I was assured it was all set. Then they added a digit to my account and sent it to the wrong place. I have been calling with no answers, only to be told to... See more

Closing my account took more time than…
Closing my account took more time than expected, and I received inconsistent information from different agents. After researching online. I decided to try 100Solid LLC. So far. The results have matched what I was told. Payments have been quick and consistent in both directions.
I opened an account
I opened an account with them because they appeared to be a professional and established investment service. I deposited a significant amount of money and initially had no reason to believe there would be any problems with my account.
The situation changed when I noticed activity that I hadn't authorized. Someone appeared to have gained access to my account, and part of my funds was taken. The total amount affected was approximately $58,000.
I immediately contacted them and explained that the transactions had not been authorized by me. I expected them to investigate the activity and secure my account, but instead, my account was frozen and I was unable to access my remaining funds.
I continued contacting them and provided information about the suspicious activity, including transaction details and records showing when I had reported the issue. Despite this, I wasn't getting the resolution I needed, and the situation became increasingly stressful.
I eventually contacted M0nter𝚊sec Online and provided them with the documentation I had collected. They helped me organize the information surrounding the unauthorized access, the disputed transactions, and the subsequent account freeze.
Following the review, the platform ultimately accepted that the unauthorized activity had not been caused by me. The affected funds were returned, and the restrictions on my account were removed.
BEWARE THE SNARLING GATEKEEPERS!
BEWARE THE SNARLING, CLUELESS GATEKEEPERS CLEVERLY DISGUISED AS "CUSTOMER SERVICE" REPS! I had hoped to open an account and keep some of my retirement money safely under the FDIC insurance umbrella after I exceeded the standard insurable amount. I opened an account with E*Trade even though I wanted just a regular HYSA. Apparently long ago when I was shopping brokerages I started the process with E*Trade but forgot all about it for a few years. In any case, I went ahead and opted for a Personal Savings account. I made my initial transfer to fund my account and felt pretty good about that. A few days later I decided I wanted to pay some bills, so I tried (in the app) transferring a little of that money over to my Wells Fargo account. App would not let me for some strange reason, so I called (HUGE mistake but what was I to do?) E*Trade's main CS number. I was on the phone with them FOR SEVEN HOURS. Zero progress was made. They required me on THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS to provide realtime identification which consists of uploading a photo of your ID AND taking a selfie, and then two three-way phone calls to have my originating bank identify me...then they suddenly made "a business decision to no longer service the account". Yes, you read that correctly: THEY DROPPED ME. I then decided that I wanted to get my money out of there as quickly as possible, and began a wire transfer to Wells Fargo for the entire amount, it started out and then got cancelled. I was told upon my 30th phone call to these morons that I needed to wire my money back to my originating bank. As I was stressed out beyond belief, I decided to wait until the next day to call one of the several numbers for higher-ups and luckily, I reached one Eric a "Relationship Manager", who quickly initiated a wire transfer to my bank of origin and my money was finally safely back where I could access it. I have NEVER and I mean NEVER, EVER been treated so poorly in all my life by a financial institution. I have since closed my account. You would think that, with a name known 'round the world like Morgan Stanley, and based on the HUNDREDS of one-star, horrible reviews they've received, that they would have come up with a new and improved protocol for treating their customers. BEWARE! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!
Phone eSim was hijacked on 7/20/26 and…
Phone eSim was hijacked on 7/20/26 and funds from Saving Acc. were transferred to Brokerage Acc. w/o our knowledge to be wired elsewhere. Fortunately, at this point transfer was stopped due to suspicious actions and our funds are safe for now. Nobody from Customer service and Fraud Dpt. are not much of help to re-instate our account interest + bonus since money were transferred to a Brokerage account for almost 25 days by the time we figured out what exactly happened. We try to convince ETrade that funds were transferred by hackers but no luck. Planning to close accounts with this compaNy ASAP!
Don't use Etrade
Don't use Etrade. Two words. JUNK FEES. They got fees for everything. If you are a passive investor as nearly everone is, even those who think they pay attention, it's irrelevant. They have fees for all sorts of stuff that can happen to one of your holdings. There's other brokerage firms that don't charge these, so just don't go here.
Ridiculously difficult account-opening process. It's 2026!!
E*TRADE has one of the most unnecessarily complicated account-opening processes I’ve ever experienced.
I had an old E*TRADE account that was closed years ago, before the Morgan Stanley acquisition. Their system apparently cannot properly handle this, so I was told I had to open a new account manually.
I completed the application, manually signed the required signature page, scanned it, and inserted the signed page back into the PDF. After hearing nothing, I called multiple times and eventually found out they refused to process it because I hadn’t printed and photographed every single page of the application. I was told to print all 6–7 pages, take pictures of each page, and upload them individually.
Seriously? It’s 2026.
What should have been a simple online savings-account application turned into multiple phone calls, paperwork, unexplained delays, and increasingly ridiculous requirements. I finally decided that no interest rate or promotional bonus was worth dealing with this level of incompetence.
If opening an account is this difficult, I don’t want to find out what happens when there’s an actual problem with my money.
I gave up and took my business elsewhere.

Ordered wheel fab polisher 2 times paid then they said they couldn't fill,my order if the do,not have product do not advertise it!!!
Pay attention to the reviews...they are a warning!
So I received a notice that eTrade was offering some good deals on Savings accounts and CDs. I went on their website to see about opening an account. After entering my information It tells me I already have and account, even though my account was closed 15 years ago. I spent almost an hour on the phone with their CS , waiting on hold several times for over 10 minutes while they tried to sort it out. That tells me that they have a really screwed up system with people that obviously are incompetent. I had thought about opening a savings account and some CDs, but after my experience and all the terrible reviews here, I think I will pass.
UPDATE: 1 Day Later.....After spending an hour on the phone trying to clear up an issue that never should have happened, just for fun I tried to sign on to the eTrade site with the new ID and Password I was given and was informed that the info was NOT CORRECT. This outfit is totally screwed up and their CS is pathetic. I WILL NOT BE DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM AND AM WARNING OTHERS TO AVOID THIS SCREWED UP MESS OF A COMPANY. REMEMBER, YOU ARE TRUSTING THEM WITH YOUR MONEY, NOT JUST YOUR TIME.
Absolutely an incompetent company
Absolutely an incompetent company, with outdated systems and poor customer service. They repeatedly placed meaningless alerts on my account for legitimate transfers. I called to resolve the issue, only to have the exact same problem occur again the very next day for the same transfer request. The entire experience felt like being transported 20 years back in time, very frustrating.
Tested the waters with only $1,200.00…
Tested the waters with only $1,200.00 to see if I could move it out of the account. Just like most everyone else, when I went to wire it out of the account they locked my account for "3 days" and then another "3 days" and then another "3 days"...at this point I'm assuming it will be months like everyone else. Proves the point and I'm glad I didn't sink the original six figures into the account. Also, their Power Etrade Pro is God Awful. I'd fire the 3rd grader that built it...js

They come up with charges out of nowhere. customer service is rude and horrible. I also sked them to fix my account after 6 calls and hours of talking, nothing is fixed. Please be careful dealing with this company. I regret it
Terrible service
Terrible service ! it is highly complicated to link other banks to your account . I'm highly disappointed so far , AIM HUB has been great .

I had a very disappointing experience…
I had a very disappointing experience with E*TRADE. My account was suddenly restricted after they claimed they had detected unusual activity. I was never given a clear explanation of what triggered the restriction, and I was unable to access my account or use my funds while the issue was being reviewed.
I contacted customer support several times, but the process was slow and frustrating, with very little communication about what was happening or when my account would be restored. Being locked out of your own account without clear answers is incredibly stressful.
I expected a much smoother experience from such a well-known brokerage. Unfortunately, this situation has left me disappointed and hesitant to use the platform again. After few weeks, I tried to contact the support to know what's going to happen, no response then I spoke to someone about it and he gave me directory and it worked. With his assistance I was able to get back into my account and took my funds out.
My experience is the opposite of most people here!
I am very surprised that E*trade only has one star here! I have been investing on E*trade since 1997. I tend to buy and hold. I have a good nest egg. I did sell some last year. All went very smoothly, but I just put the funds in my sweep account until I decide what to invest in next. I have never tried to transfer money to another bank, so I can’t attest to that. I did get a e trade cash card for emergencies and if I sell some more, I will probably open a better bank account with them. The record keeping is good and I have never had trouble with the website functionality. I probably make 3-8 small stock buys per year. Customer service has always been really helpful and when Morgan Stanley came on the scene, the communication and record keeping were good during that transition. I do need to name a beneficiary, so hopefully that will work out correctly.
DO NOT BANK WITH ETRADE! WASTE OF TIME!
I opened up an account with etrade and not much longer after I’m kicked off for trying to link another bank account just so I can fund the CD that etrade was telling me to fund. Even though I’ve been in contact with customer support and have successfully verified my identity multiple times, I found out I was denied business because etrade felt that my account was a fraud case! Even though I never once reported fraud and had spoken to directly to representatives regarding help with my account. I would not recommend trying to bank or do anything with etrade as they will more than likely deny you business. I am very unhappy because all that time I wasted trying to work with customer support to fix my account, I could have had my money secured in a CD and growing interest. If anyone is looking to bank with an institution, DO NOT BANK WITH ETRADE!!!
BEWARE!
BEWARE!! I was told by an agent that I owe 24% interest for withholding taxes because they didnt have my latest w9. I sent it in and when I say the $800 removed from my account I asked what happened to it. We have it sitting in your account as a debit until the next time you sell any stocks. So he told me we took out of the stocks you sold yesterday. I noticed on 8/4/26 that I was missing my dividends and called them to find out where my dividends went. I was told by a supervisor Ian that the dividends went to pay of my margins. unfortunately I didn't know what margins were or where to find the info. When he showed me on my account I saw I was getting charged interested I had no idea about. So I asked Ian on 8/4/26 to listen to my conversation with the representative because he LIED and MISINFORMED me and that is not right to lie to a client. The representative should have told me it went into my margin account and I would have paid it off the same day. On 8/5/26 Ian called me and said he heard the conversations and it doesn't matter they would NOT reveserve the interest. So be careful Etrade is scamming people out of their money and charge you interest and fees behind your back and if you question them they will lie. So Etrade is this how you train your employees on how to scam clients? do they earn commission for everyone they scam?
Etrade
Etrade: your wait time is 25 min
Me: ok that’s a long time but I guess I’ll wait
current situation: waiting 2 hrs and 5minutes
E*TRADE/Morgan Stanley Locked My Account and Won't Give Me My Money Back
E*TRADE/Morgan Stanley locked my savings account over one month ago and still has not returned my funds.
I opened an E*TRADE Premium Savings account through Morgan Stanley Private Bank on July 1, 2026 because of their promotional offer and deposited a substantial amount of money. On July 3, 2026, my account was restricted, and I lost access to withdraw, transfer, or close the account. My online access was later disabled entirely, preventing me from viewing statements, balances, transaction history, messages, or notices.
Customer service throughout this process has been extremely poor. I have spent countless hours on the phone with representatives who repeatedly give me vague answers, will not explain what is needed to resolve the issue, and refuse to transfer me to anyone who can provide a clear answer, and will not make a call or take meaningful action to expedite the review. For weeks, I have been left without a clear case status, timeline, or path to recover my own savings.
Morgan Stanley Private Bank later sent me a written response stating that the account relationship was terminated on July 17, 2026 and that I needed to submit a signed Letter of Instruction, ID verification documents, a selfie holding my ID, a copy of my Social Security card, and complete a 3-way call with the bank where my funds were initially transferred from before the funds could be released.
I submitted the requested documents and completed the required 3-way call with my other bank on July 30, 2026. Despite completing the process they identified, E*TRADE/Morgan Stanley still says the account is being "investigated" or “in review” and they have not provided me with a release date, check number, ACH trace number, balance confirmation, accrued interest amount, or a specific remaining requirement.
I am not refusing verification. I opened the account, authorized the funding transfer, provided the requested documents, and completed the verification call. As of this review (32 days after they locked my account), my funds still remain inaccessible. They treat my money as if it is now theirs by forcefully holding it indefinitely, with no clear way of getting it back. I have filed complaints with the CFPB, OCC, BBB, New York Attorney General, and the consumer authorities in my state of residence.
Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone against using E*TRADE/Morgan Stanley banking products. Their customer service has been extremely vague and unhelpful, and I still do not have my funds back even after completing the company's own verification process. STAY FAR AWAY.
I tried to set up an online account
I tried to set up an online account. I was unable to, I think it was because of an account I had previously with capital one I was locked out of, so the website indicated I must call in for next steps. I was told it would be a 20 minute wait. After 58 minutes I gave up
