Reviewers frequently complained about hidden costs and excessive fees for services like checked bags, carry-ons, and even seat assignments, making the overall price much higher than expected. Many experienced significant delays, cancellations, and issues with the booking process, including problems with seat assignments and rebooking flights. Customers also reported uncomfortable flight conditions, such as freezing or excessively hot cabins, and a lack of basic amenities like water or snacks, which are not included in the ticket price. Furthermore, many found that the company offered little to no accommodation or support during flight disruptions, leaving them to cover unexpected costs for hotels or alternative travel.

Flight 4075 (Atlanta → Houston)

Flight 4075 (Atlanta → Houston), June 18–19 at 21pm. Frontier sent me 8 "delay" emails in under 6 hours, each with a new departure time that contradicted the last, and ended up canceling the flight:

6:54 PM → "leaves 10:48 PM"
9:20 PM → "leaves 12:15 AM"
9:35 PM → "leaves 10:38 PM" (somehow earlier than they'd said 15 min before)
10:48 PM → "leaves 11:45 PM"
11:18 PM → "leaves 12:05 AM"
12:01 AM → "leaves 1:05 AM"

The times bounced backward and forward, so none of them could be trusted. Worse:

The 10:38 PM departure passed with no plane — they only admitted the new delay 10 minutes after that time had already come and gone.
The 11:45 PM promise was retracted 27 minutes before 11:45 even arrived.
The 12:05 AM promise was retracted at 12:01 AM — four minutes before the plane was supposedly leaving — then pushed another full hour.

From 9:35 PM on, every email basically said "be ready to board within the hour," then yanked it before that hour was up.
And after all six hours of that — they canceled the flight outright and left a full plane of passengers stranded with no way to get to Houston. No rebooking that worked, no accommodation, nothing. Six hours of false departure times just to end in a cancellation they could have called hours earlier. Absolutely the worst way to treat people who trusted you with their travel.

Frontier delayed my 6/15/26 CVG to LAS…

Frontier delayed my 6/15/26 CVG to LAS by 5 hours. I bought the trip interruption insurance and while the trip was very crowded, the employees were extremely rude. They did refund after I initiated it, they did nothing but say its delayed. Then they allowed one passenger to dress in an all body latex rubber S&M suit with the zipper mask over his head. How is this legal or appropriate? Then, after being in the bathroom for over an hour this passenger returned to his seat with face completely covered by the zippered mask making many people uncomfortable. Frontier employees did nothing to accommodate or reassure other passengers that this guy was even safe to be around. The joked with one another and went out of there way to accommodate him referring to it being PRIDE month? (I don’t have a place to post a picture otherwise I would) The return flight from LAS to CVG on 6/18/26. 15mins before time to board they announce once over gate speaker, Flight is Cancelled. No instruction on what to do. We had to hike a great distance back to the to the ticketing counter where we I was 3rd in line and approaching 55 mins and they had not assisted the first two people. Then, the Prospect Transporter Service hired by Frontier brought people who needed assistance to cut in front of everyone because they said by law they get priority. I argued and said I’d been waiting for an hour and the person was able to stand and even dance around while waiting to get rebooked. I said that isn’t appropriate and Jason from Prospect said, “Yo, Is you f-ing retarded or something bro?” This is the quality airline that is Frontier. I registered a formal complaint with Frontier and bet I NEVER hear a word to follow up. I will be exploring other options to make everyone aware of the circus that is Frontier Airlines. I give Frontier about another year to further decline in performance because their business model and rude customer service will not prevail against cheaper flight prices.

DO NOT FLY WITH FRONTIER

DO NOT FLY WITH FRONTIER! They lost my son’s suitcase and are only willing to pay me back 1/4 of the cost of all of the lost items- despite most of it being brand new, bought right before our flight/vacation. It also took them 3 months to pay me the little money that they did, still missing $800 worth of items they lost! They have refused to call me or return my messages on the portal to go over the claim amount.

They have been nothing but rude, condescending and show lack of compassion trying to help problem solve their issue.

Do not fly with them! It’s not worth the stress and headache!

WARNING ABOUT FRONTIER AIRLINES

WARNING ABOUT FRONTIER AIRLINES

This is now the SECOND time Frontier has charged my family questionable baggage fees, seemingly enforcing their policies whenever and however they choose.

On my recent trip, I paid $158 round-trip for ONE checked bag. When I arrived at the airline counter, I was told they could not accept my checked bag because I was less than an hour from boarding. So I carried the bag with me to the gate, only to be charged ANOTHER $99 because the bag was supposed to have been checked at the counter.

When I explained that the counter agent had refused to take the bag, the only response I received was, "Rules are rules."

This isn't even our first issue. My husband stopped flying Frontier over a year ago after being charged $99 for the exact same backpack he had flown with multiple times before. The reason? They suddenly decided it had "too many items in it."

At this point, it feels like baggage fees are being used as a revenue stream rather than being enforced consistently. Between the unpredictable charges, lack of flexibility, and poor customer service, we'll be taking our business elsewhere.

Travelers beware: the fare may look cheap, but be prepared for unexpected fees that can quickly make your trip much more expensive than expected

Absolute worse! Will never fly with them again. Tried to use app and it’s too confusing. When I got to the airport had to pay an additional $25 to have them check our bags. Bags costs over $300. So many hidden fees and horrible customer service. NEVER AGAIN

Horrible AI Chat and customer service…

Horrible AI Chat and customer service wasn’t much better. Changing a flight was as hard as it gets. If you never have to change your flight and always keep the exact same time, god forbid life gets in the way, than stick with them. I travel 30+ times a year and they don’t make my list.

Wow, what a crappy airline!

Wow. What a terrible experience, and I haven't even flown yet. A carry-on baggage fee is 40% of the ticket cost, and you don't really see it until you check in. Flight has already been delayed twice, and I hear the seats suck in addition to having to pay for any amenities. Fun. These guys suck. Never flying with them again.

I chose Frontier because they were the…

I chose Frontier because they were the only airline offering a nonstop flight from Las Vegas to St. Louis. What should have been a simple trip home turned into one of the most frustrating travel experiences I’ve had.

Our 9:00 a.m. flight was first delayed by an hour and then canceled entirely. We spent hours standing in lines trying to get rebooked, only to be placed on a flight the following day. This caused me to lose a full day of work and valuable personal time.

To Frontier’s credit, they did provide a hotel voucher at no additional financial cost to us. However, we then spent another 3.5 hours waiting just to receive that voucher.

The next morning, after being instructed by Frontier staff to return to the terminal check-in desk at 4:15 a.m. to have our seats assigned, we waited in line for 20 minutes only to be told that we had been given incorrect information and that seat assignments could only be handled at the gate.

At the gate, one employee completely ignored me while assisting a friend who had just arrived, despite the fact that I had already been waiting for over 10 minutes. Another gate agent, however, was courteous and professional and kept me informed while logging in to the system.

The final disappointment came when Frontier separated my wife and me, refused to seat us together, and assigned us worse seats than the ones we had originally paid for, both middle seats.

Delays happen. Cancellations happen. What shouldn’t happen is poor communication, inconsistent information from staff, long waits for assistance, and paying customers receiving worse accommodations than they originally purchased.

Based on this experience, I will go out of my way to avoid flying Frontier again.

Unexpected Baggage Fees Despite Booking…

Unexpected Baggage Fees Despite Booking That Included Carry-On Allowance

I am writing to share my disappointing experience with Frontier Airlines during a recent trip booked through Orbitz.

My reservation clearly indicated that my ticket included both a carry-on bag and a personal item. Based on this, I proceeded with my travel plans as normal. However, upon arrival at the airport, Frontier refused to honor the baggage allowance that was shown at the time of purchase and required me to pay additional fees in order to board with my luggage.

As a result, I was forced to pay more than $600 in unexpected baggage charges, which I believe were not properly disclosed or consistent with what was sold at the time of booking.

What made the situation even more frustrating was the lack of flexibility or willingness to resolve the issue at the airport. I was left with no real option but to pay the fees in order to continue my trip. Afterward, I attempted to resolve the matter through Orbitz, my credit card companies, and even the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), but none of these efforts resulted in a resolution.

This experience has significantly affected my trust in Frontier Airlines, particularly regarding transparency around baggage policies and the consistency between what is advertised and what is enforced at the airport.

I strongly encourage other travelers to carefully verify baggage rules directly with the airline before traveling, even if the booking confirmation suggests that certain items are included.

I hope Frontier improves clarity and consistency in its baggage policies so that other passengers do not experience the same unexpected costs and frustration.

Worst airlines ever

Worst airlines ever , I should be putting a 0 stars but I can’t , they delayed our flight for about 10 hours and still managed to delay even inside the plane not worth your money or time at all . The gate agent was really rude to us and rushing us to get our boarding passes out even after they took forever to get us in that flight.

Missed a once in a lifetime opportunity…

Missed a once in a lifetime opportunity this evening because they wouldn't admit to a failure in the plane. They delayed us over an hour, then boarded us, then deplaned us. The staff was rude, completely dismissing our questions and acting put out that we could possibly be frustrated. Then rescheduled our flight to 4 hours after initial flight. Then canceled it last minute. All of this meant we couldn't get on another flight to our destination because they were fully booked. I paid for travel disruption service and they did nothing. Told me I could take the options provided, which were more frontier flights that would get us in after our event, or we could have nothing. We could have driven, we could have gotten on an alternate flight, if they had been honest and not dragged us along. First and last time I'll ever use Frontier.

Really bad, if all possible do not book with airline

Really bad, booked and paid for a flight from Phoenix, AZ to Cleveland, OH in March for June 7, 2026 travel. My flight was suppose to leave around 12:30pm from Phoenix, AZ going back to Cleveland OH. Three hour flight. I had check the app and it said delayed flight leaves 1:06pm which turned to 1:27 pm, which turned to cancelled. No announcements, nothing, Everyone went to the counter to be told that we would have to go to another Frontier counter to rebook our flight to Cleveland. The flight that they gave was leaving Phoenix, AZ no earlier than 10pm or a little after. to have a layover in Atlanta, GA. for three hours. The flight was suppose to leave in the morning , which got delayed, and delayed again and cancelled again. Had to go back to the ticket counter to get assigned a new flight but it wasn't leaving until very very late. sat in Atlanta Airport for over 12 hours. So from the time we had arrived in Atlanta at 6:11am to 6:56pm. We sat. And for compensation they want to give $100 voucher. What happened to the seat I had purchased. I didn't get the seat that I had purchased. It was a total nightmare.

This airline is pretty much a scam

This airline is pretty much one small step above a scam. Besides my buying an advertised flight package that is basically useless, their website function is abysmal at best. I spent so much time just trying to reset my password/log in, that my time is worth more than the $300 I paid them at this point, so I gave up, I'll cut my losses. And the thought of calling their rude customer "service" is already making me ok with that $300 loss.

Lost medical mobility walker with no concern

I recently travelled business class with Frontier Airlines. I was appalled, that with huge price difference, there were still no complimentary snacks. Also, the flight attendants were not personable at all. They chatted among themselves most of the trip. It seemed more like they were herding cattle than assisting passengers. I could have overlooked that, but they lost my expensive all terrain walker. I gate checked the walker in Orlando and told the gate agent that I needed it during my layover in Denver. It was not at the gate in Denver, and I was told it would be at the gate in Boise. I used a wheelchair in Denver, which prevented me from being able to exercise my legs there. When I arrived in Boise the walker was not at the gate. I was told it would at baggage claim. So, I had another wheelchair trip to baggage claim, but my walker was not there either. Less than 1 hour after the flight landed, there was mo one from Frontier to assist me, and I was told there would be no one available until the following Thursday when they had another flight coming in. Finally airport employees were able to get me in touch with someone by phone. This lady, Cindy, had Global Repair contact me, and they were able to provide me a loaner walker that evening. I was there for my granddaughters graduation from law school. I missed her party because of the delay and suffered a fall before they were able to get a walker to me. My walker was located in Denver the same day, but Frontier made no attempt to get it to me. Apparently, they sent it to Boise on the Thursday flight. I had already left Boise by then, and they were aware of that. I was told that they would be shipping it to me and they would send me tracking numbers, but that never happened. I was unable to reach the person I had been talking with. I left several voice messages as did Global Repair with no response. The following Friday (12 days after my flight) my walker was delivered to my home in terrible condition. The bag was missing, and the post to hold the bag was broken off and missing. There was a chunk missing from the hand grip, and the walker was scratched all over ( looked like it was dragged on pavement) and labels were peeled up like it had been stored in wet conditions. It was not packaged for transport but folded with zip ties to hold it closed. Seeing how poorly they treat a passengers medical device makes me wonder how well they take care of their own equipment. This was definitely my first and last trip on Frontier Airlines.
