Absolutely awful experience with FlixBus in the UK. We booked both our outbound and return trips about a week in advance, so they had plenty of time to get everything sorted properly.... See more

I’ve booked a trip to Jasper from Edmonton. They have cancelled the trip with a very short notice (30 mins before). This will have huge impact on all other plans. If they are cancelling the trip they should have informed few hours before.
shittiest customer service line I have ever talked to and has a insane cancelation policies. I'm trying to change my booking for a week from now and they are either up charging me to change the time for a ticket that costs the same amount on their website or only refunding me half of what I payed for. DONT BOOK WITH THEM
"This FlixBus is one of the dirtiest transport companies out there.
I’ve had terrible experiences with them multiple times. The first time, about a month before the New Year, I bought a ticket for a VIP seat. On the day of the trip, I arrived at the bus station 40 minutes early. Out of caution, I asked about several buses that arrived and showed my bus number, but they said, 'This isn't your bus.' I kept waiting, only to realize later that the departure time had passed. I asked other bus drivers, and they told me the bus had already left. The drivers sell our tickets—especially the VIP seats—at higher prices to their friends and family. I contacted the company, and instead of compensating me, they shamelessly brushed me off, stole 15% of my money, and only refunded 85%.
On subsequent occasions, even though we paid extra for VIP seats, they assigned our seats to other people, repeatedly claiming the seats were unnumbered. The last time, I bought a VIP ticket for my friend because he was a bit sick and gets headaches and nausea sitting near the restroom or at the back of the bus. On the day of the trip, we found that the driver had seated his friends and family members there. With absolute shamelessness, he attacked me like a rabid guard dog, trying to hit me. He yelled at my friend and me, threatening my friend to get off the bus, without even giving us a chance to speak.
We buy tickets from this corrupt company, pay in advance, and reserve specific seats based on our needs. Yet, not only do they have zero control over their drivers, but they actively enable them to pull off such filthy behavior."
Travelled from London airport to Derby and the bus interior is good, but suspension system of bus is 90s technology, so much vibration and jerks. It made me curious to find what company bus and noticed to be YUJONG. Surprising flixbus didnt do even ride comfort checks before buying buses.

Booked a ticket. Only 2 hours later, tried to move it to a later time. Got hit with a cancellation charge which was almost the entire price of the ticket.

Terrible condition of the bus. 10 hours of travel and no air conditioner in the thick of summer. No refund if you decide not to board and the Driver is soooo rude and a liar. Customer service is atrocious and just closed the ticket. Never again.
Update on the trip. After much complaining from the passengers, the driver stopped asked all the passengers to get off and take the luggage so he can try to fix the air conditioner. He said he will be back after 30 minutes but did not. We were all stranded without any access to other transportation. Then FlixBus emailed and texted all passengers that the journey was cancelled. No other option but to call and Uber and paid $300 to take us to the city at midnight. Other passengers looked for other options- women with small children, elderly and others. That was really a mean thing for FlixBus to do. FlixBus had the nerve to give $25 voucher for snacks.

An absolute nightmare experience on the September 3rd trip!
First of all, the driver allowed a visibly intoxicated and aggressive person to board the bus. After 20 minutes, the passenger went into severe withdrawal on the floor, leaving us stranded in the cold and rain for over an hour waiting for the ambulance and police because they refused to step off. Passenger safety was completely ignored.
To top it all off, upon arrival I realized another passenger had accidentally taken my suitcase from the luggage hold. The driver washed his hands of the matter citing GDPR, while FlixBus support only provides automated replies and useless forms.
Total negligence, dangerous conditions, and zero support during emergencies. Avoid FlixBus!
My return journey with Flixbus was one of the worst travel experiences I've ever had." "I got a message about an 85-minute delay, but after waiting five hours, the bus never showed up. There was zero communication, zero assistance. I had no choice but to pay for a train to Zurich and arrange other transport to get home. I submitted a refund request with all the evidence, but more than a week later, there is still no proper response. I understand delays can happen, but leaving passengers stranded without any support is unacceptable. I expected far better. (Line N846 - 24 Ağustos 2026)
Complaint Regarding FlixBus Customer Service and Inflexible Ticket Policy
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with FlixBus and, especially, with the way my situation was handled by customer service.
I purchased my ticket through the FlixBus website and shortly afterward realized that I needed to change my travel time. I attempted to make the change while I was still within the one-hour window allowed by FlixBus. However, while I was completing the change on the website, the page updated, and suddenly I was being charged more than $100 to change my ticket.
I paid approximately $150 for my ticket, so being asked to pay more than $100 just to change the departure time is extremely unreasonable.
What is even more frustrating is that I tried to resolve the situation and find a reasonable solution, but FlixBus’ policy is extremely strict and there seemed to be no effort to accommodate my situation. Instead of trying to help or find a fair alternative, I was simply left with the options dictated by the policy.
I understand that companies need cancellation and change policies, but there should be some flexibility when a customer is actively trying to make a change within the allowed time window and the website itself updates during the process.
I am asking FlixBus to review my case and consider a fair resolution. I believe customers should receive reasonable assistance when technical or timing issues occur during the ticket-change process, rather than being charged an excessive additional amount.

On 01.06.2026, my booked FlixBus trip (booking #3360450435, Hannover ZOB → Berlin Brandenburg Airport BER) first ran about 120 minutes late, and the trip was then cancelled. To still catch my flight from BER, I had to buy a Deutsche Bahn ICE ticket for €29.99 out of my own pocket.
On 02.06.2026 I filed a refund request with FlixBus (case #51201712) for two separate amounts:
1. a refund of the FlixBus ticket itself,
2. reimbursement of the cost of the alternative train ticket (€29.99).
What’s happened since:
• 25.06.2026 (23 days later): First substantive reply. FlixBus claims the ticket refund (€29.99) was “already initiated” — with no transaction number or date given.
• 25.06.2026: I reply that nothing has arrived in my account after more than 3 weeks.
• 21.07.2026 (another 26 days later): FlixBus repeats that the refund was “already assigned” — again with no proof — and tells me to check with my own bank for the status.
• 22.07.2026: I send a full written summary of the case and explicitly flag, again, the second claim (train ticket reimbursement), which had been completely ignored up to that point.
• 12.08.2026 (another 3 weeks of total silence): I complain clearly about how this is being handled.
• 17.08.2026: FlixBus replies that they need to carry out “internal investigations” and asks for more patience — with no concrete deadline.
• Since 17.08.2026 (over 2 weeks): no further response. As of today (04.09.2026), the matter remains unresolved after 3 months.
Bottom line: FlixBus confirmed in writing, twice, that a refund had been initiated, but was never able to provide a payment reference, a date, or a transaction number. The second, clearly justified claim (reimbursement for the alternative train ticket) has to this day not even been addressed. Every reply only came after weeks of waiting and me chasing them myself.
I’ve attached the full email correspondence with customer service as evidence.
I have several reference numbers because of the lack of correspondence I opened several tickets in the last three months!

I am currently on board service number 61 heading from Bournemouth to London, and I have lost valuable items because the driver prevented me from taking a box on the pretext that boxes are prohibited, even though companies like National Rail allow them. As for the driver, he spoke with complete indifference and in an aggressive manner, to the point that he even wanted to prevent me from boarding the bus.😡
On 31 July 2026, I bought a FlixBus ticket at 15:13 for a bus from Chambéry to Geneva scheduled to depart at 15:15, just two minutes later. There was no indication during the booking process that the bus was delayed. Only after I had paid was I informed that it was actually running approximately an hour late.
Had that information been displayed before payment, I categorically would not have bought the ticket. I therefore did not use it and requested a refund.
What has made the experience considerably worse is FlixBus's handling of my complaint. Customer service keeps quoting their policy that delays under 120 minutes do not qualify for a full refund, despite me repeatedly explaining that my complaint is not about compensation for the delay. It is about being sold a ticket without being told about a significant existing delay before payment.
FlixBus has refunded just £5.49 of my £19.49 ticket, retaining £14 as a "processing fee". I have specifically asked them to confirm whether they knew about the delay when they took my payment at 15:13, and I have repeatedly requested that my complaint be escalated to a manager. So far, neither request has been properly addressed.
For the sake of £14, this could have been resolved quickly and reasonably. Instead, I have spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get FlixBus to address the substance of my complaint rather than sending generic responses.
I do not consider this matter resolved and will not be satisfied until the remaining £14 is refunded. I intend to continue pursuing this with FlixBus and, if necessary, through the appropriate external complaints process until I receive a proper resolution.
Very disappointing booking experience and even worse complaint handling.

This is the worst bus ever I REPEAT do not waste your money with them, my departure time was @6:50am been at the bus stop since 6:30am the bus never showed up I even waited gave them time 5mins after departure time thinking they’re late before contacting them, I call these idiots have the audacity to tell me I missed my bus, how the hell I kissed my damn bus when I been here since and at the correct stop? And on top of that the customer service agent is rude as hell, had attitude for no damn reason??? Like excuse me? I’m livid!!!!! Do not waste your money with their service!!!!
We arrived at the bus stop early for our 09.15 coach to London today, having allowed for non existent traffic. As we watched people board the 08.45 to London we commented to each other how nice it was to see a pleasant coach driver as he chatted and joked with the passengers.
A few minutes later he invited us to take the two spare seats on his coach instead of waiting around. We were delighted. His humour continued as he went through his safety briefing, getting his message across in a friendly lighthearted manner.
Mo is a real asset to the company and I hope I get to travel with him again.

I attempted to use a flix bus from Bristol to Gatwick airport. On arrival it was night time so I could not see outside, there were no signs indicating which stop was appropriate to use and all doors were closed to the buses entrance. I also got a notification saying my bus was delayed so assumed it had not arrived. I later found out it had arrived in that time. There was no sign to indicate arrival or even destination of the bus. If at all visually impaired this service is completely inappropriate
Oh man what didn't go wrong. I'll start by mentioning that in the past I actually had no major complaints with flixbus - but when they fail, they really fail. On top of that, their customer service is non existent.
Sequence of events:
- initial bus from Düsseldorf -> Lille was 5 hours late. No notice was given.
- the bus suddenly terminated in Brussels around 9pm, no notice was given but there was an automatic rebooking made for another bus
- we were so late that we couldn't make that bus either, leaving 4 people including myself stuck in Brussels
- unfortunately there happened to be a BTS show in Brussels that night, meaning no hotel was going for less than 300/night
- no other bus was possible until 2am, but that bus didn't have a bike slot available for me
- so I ended up having to wait in a park until 6am to catch a train to Lille, now 16 hours late.
The fallout and trying to deal with customer service:
They refused to acknowledge their system had failed and wouldn't even refund me the original trip amount. But it took them 3 months to conclude there was nothing they could do.
They would not pay for my new train as "I chose to not use their service".
My hotel in Lille was very kind and refunded me my cost their as this was already a nightmare.
I believe somewhere I got a voucher for half off my next flixbus, but as you may expect from a company willing to leave me in a park overnight and not care, I won't be using their shitty service again.

I was informed just two days before departure that my trip had been cancelled. This completely ruined my travel plans, and at this point I have very few, if any, alternatives. I had a flight booked from Istanbul, and now I’m left with no way to get there on time.
I find this extremely unprofessional and very disrespectful towards passengers and their plans. I sincerely hope I never have to use FlixBus again.
I booked a bus trip from London Ontario to Toronto Pearson and then a return trip 10 days later. Flix changed our seating and then changed our pickup location. I looked at the new location (an hour and 20 minute drive from my home) and there was no signage or bus shelter at the new location. I cancelled both trips. Instead of vrediting my credit card they wanted to issue a voucher. I would not use a voucher so they basically want to pocket your money. After jousting with an AI Robot for 90 minutes I was finally able to get a company phone number. Try it 1-833-315-0975 It goes to what sounds like a fax machine. After dancing again with an AI Robot I was finally able to connect with a live person who said it was company policy to issue a voucher. This is bullshit!! They finally issued a cash credit for the first trip but said because I did the second trip sepertely only a voucher could be issued. What a scam!! They said this was company policy and that was all thy could do. I asked for a company mailing address nd they would not issue. THey ended the conversation by disconnecting. I was not rude and did not use abusive language. Stay as far away from this company as possible!!!!!!!! I will be sending a copy of this to The Better Business Beureau and posting it online!!

Since July 2026, I’ve been trying to get a refund of €100.97 for a journey I never booked – and for good reason: I travel with a pushcart and two large bags, weighing at least 40kg in total!
In August, Flixbus sent me a voucher for
€99.98 but didn’t say where. I won’t be back home until October and I don’t want a voucher as I no longer want to travel with Flixbus!
2. Flixbus asked for an explanation to validate my review! Yes, I received a ticket invoice for my "ghost" journey from Toulouse to Quimper France ((#3373286614)....BUT How could I book a seat WHILE travelling with a pushcart and two large bags, weighing at least 40kg in total! My driver friends and car sharing can prove that I was travelling with a cart and heavy luggage weighing at least 40kg during July and August. Because of my luggage and the impossibility booking a seat on Flixbus I believe my Flixbus account was acked by a dishonest employee.
