Helpful staff but a customer toilet would be very useful. This is the only out of hours vet in quite a wide area and, door to door your visit could be several hours without access to a loo which could... See more

Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Witham branch - we took my daughters puggle there who is 13 years old, after speaking to my vet and explaining she was struggling to breath and was collasping they advised we take her to an emergency vet as they were not open early hours of this morning. We were on the way , they shut at 8.30am , called me to say "we think its best you take her to your own vet" I said we are on the way and will be there 8.25am as there as heavy traffic and i had to pick up my daughter of which they were aware... the nurse came out and took Nellie for an examination, then the vet came out and told us she had fluid on her lungs and asked if she had been diagnosed with a heart murmer, to which the answer was not , he said where she had been sick.. she wasn't sick at all .. , she had fluid on her lungs, she explained she hadn't been sick .. my daughter explained her symptoms and offered to show him a video we took of her struggling to breathe .. he didnt' want to see it , he said best to go to our vets and get blood tests done .. we explained she is 13, she is stressed about being here .. the whole family is upset , she is getting worse not better and my daughter said its time for her to be put to rest .. he agreed .. he went back out .. then as i came back in from getting the kids out of the car, he literally threw Nellie's lead at me and said "i don't feel comfortable doing it her tail is wagging" .. i questioned him and said this has been going on for a few days her breathing is over 6o instead of a normal 30 breaths a minute .. he said I am not comfortable and walked away ... can you imagine the distress this caused us all ? I get he may of thought she needed more tests to find out the cause, but the way he spoke to us , it was like he just wanted to go home as it was well past 8.30am now by the time he had checked her and spoke to us. There was no explanation as to what could have been causing her to struggle to breathe and collapse, she can't manage a normal walk without collapsing, he said we are like A&E we can't do those tests here ... take her to your normal vet .. his manner was awful .. The receptionist and nurse were lovely , but the vet .. he needs to have some empathy, the dog is part of my daughters family , not "just a dog"

Dr Morley and nurse gerorgia were phenomenal with my whelping dog in distress.
They saved our dogs life and delivered 2 safe puppies which we was very touch and go.
They gave options and clear prices.
They had my dogs best interest at heart and I knew she was safe and in good hands.
I dont think ive ever met such a lovely compassionate team.
Our dog is very clingy and they let me me present as much as they could to ease her distress. Something I have never experienced with previous vets. No words can describe our grateful thoughts.
Down to earth experienced people who made us feel part of the treatments to keep our girl calm.
I wish they worked day time hours as we would be changing to dr Morley permanently.
Thabkyou team. All all thriving and healthy.

-Gold-star service by very competent and super-friendly staff
- Yes, steep prices, but totally worth it, because you cannot put a price tag on the life of a beloved pet (= family member)

£1500 to X-ray my dog no thanks your response is laughable what 15 more times expensive utter bull you should be ashamed holding people to ransom

Quick to come to reassurance that illness was not serious

£4500 bill and a pointless stomach operation for the vets to then say they don’t know what is wrong with our puppy and to pick him back up! Second opinion from another vet found swollen back leg which we had advised may have been injured. Followed complaints procedure and even vet mediation service to no avail

The staff were helpful and friendly from start to finish. We had to visit them early on s Sunday morning and there were other emergencies to be seen. They treated everyone with the same respect and kindness and still managed to see everyone in a timely manner. The surgery had a calm, clean environment and I would happily go there again but hopefully won’t need to.

Long wait not advised of when calling beforehand. Vet was absolutely lovely and caring. The cost for out of hours is quite frankly outrageous and in my opinion it is immoral to charge £350 plus as a minimum fee in these circumstances.

Because I didn’t have the insurance policy on me and my ex partner who has it wasn’t contactable they wouldn’t investigate what was wrong. Unless I paid all the money there and then. I Taken back the following morning and he passed away 4hours later with sepsis.

Made emergency appointment at 3:45pm out of hours for normal vets. Managed to arrange appointment and was at practice by 4:15pm. Only waited 30 minutes to see vet in a waiting room with several other owners waiting to be seen. Receptionist & vet were very helpful and attentive. Vet explained procedure needed and managed to sort issue within 15 minutes (trapped grass seed in dogs inner ear). Dog had been in pain and unable to settle. Excellent service.
