Wanted to leave as soon as possible

I recently had a fibre optic cable installed at my home, and unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing.
When the Sky engineer arrived to complete the installation, I asked if the cable could be routed in a way so it would look neater. He didn't seem interested and appeared more focused on finishing the job as quickly as possible. The drilling also caused the brickwork to blow out around the hole, and the cable has been left routed untidily. I'll now have to spend time and money improving the appearance myself.
It's disappointing because a little more care and attention to detail would have made a big difference. I would have liked to see more pride taken in the quality of the workmanship rather than simply getting the job finished as quickly as possible.

Great Service & Customer Care

Having been a Sky Subscriber since 1993, it’s fair to say I am a loyal Customer and enjoy the services they provide.

Unfortunately there was an issue that I was unhappy with; nothing awful, but it needed a resolution, so I called the customer complaints team

Having worked in retail my whole life, I have offered good customer service and care, which has made me sensitive to poor service and appreciative of good customer care. I also appreciate that all businesses have their issues. The problem today is that many organisations do not want to apologise, and more importantly they do nothing to resolve problem and retain the customer.

As I had an Issue I called Sky Complaints and spoke to Ryan. He was polite and knowledgeable and very helpful and understanding. A credit to Sky and a great Ambassador for the brand. As a result of his derive my business with Sky will be in place going forward.

Thank you Ryan. I really appreciated your time and service today, and wish you well

TERRIBLE

TERRIBLE

I left a review last week. Told via trust pilot to contact Sky via instagram, which I did. Service via instagram was just as useless as via call centre.

Told I would get a call back from technical support team today, but typical Sky it hasn’t happened.

I continue to be in a loop of bad customer service and no resolution! Meanwhile paying two phone contracts for phones that don’t work.

Looking at other reviews it seems I’m not alone in this cycle.

Appalling service!

Sky - save yourself the generic response you put under all of these reviews and find someone who can actually help me!

Update: Sky have put their usual response. Called Sky again today, spoken to 6 different employees because they LOVE transferring a call around the call centre. Told the technical team had called us yesterday, but guess what, it was on the number that doesn’t work so it didn’t come through. Did they try the different number on file that is now our main contact? Of course not. They simply put on the notes that WE didn’t answer and left the situation there.

Also during one my many conversations with Sky employees today I was told we are a platinum VIP customer, so that’s nice. Dread to think how you’d get treated if you were just a humble customer….

Hi Lou,

Thank you for updating your review. We can see why you're frustrated. After reaching out through another channel, being promised a callback, and still not having a resolution, it's understandable that your confidence in our support has been affected.

What stands out here is that you're continuing to pay for two services while the underlying issue remains unresolved. That's not the outcome you should be left with after multiple contacts.

We'd like to ensure your case is reviewed properly. Please send us a message with your account details and any existing case references via:

Booster never agreed to

I have been having problems with sky for a long time and due to many issues signed up with a new provider earlier this month.

Today Sky were due to have their router collecte4d and despite waiting in all day nobody turned up.

On checking what exactly was going on I discovered that a year ago on one of several waste of time visits to improve my broadband connection that a booster which was left with no mention of any charge had in fact been added to my account at a cost of £7.50 a month

Sky just tell me entire charge as I am out of contract I did not notice this but am shocked to see it and consider this to be fraud. Sky have promised to sort this out and I hope they do but seeing it has made a bad situation with sky even worse

If sky reply to this I would ask they do not ask me to contact them through facebook or istagram which I do not use but instead make sure they do sort it out this time as I am still awaiting replies on the issues that have caused me to move my internet provider

Hi Jerry,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear that your time with Sky ended on such a disappointing note and that you've encountered further issues during the return process.

We understand how frustrating it must have been to wait in for a scheduled equipment collection that didn't take place, particularly after already making the decision to switch providers following ongoing broadband concerns. It's also concerning to hear that you've discovered charges for a Broadband Booster that you feel were not clearly explained at the time it was provided.

We appreciate why finding an unexpected monthly charge would raise concerns, especially if you were unaware it had been added to your account. Combined with the outstanding issues you've mentioned and the delays in receiving responses, we can understand why this has further impacted your confidence in our service.

We'd like the opportunity to review the equipment return, the charges applied to your account, and the previous concerns you've raised. If you are unable to contact us via Facebook or Intsgram, you can get in touch with us using the below options:

Why contact a customer FIVE months…

Why contact a customer FIVE months before the contract expires to offer ‘savings’?
Sounds like churning to me. I rang back on the number listed for the call but received a message stating they hadn’t been able to contact me? As I’d answered the call and spoken to a call centre agent, the whole thing struck me as being Sky attempting to pull a fast one!

Hi Richard,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your recent experience has left you feeling concerned and frustrated.

We understand why receiving a call about renewing or changing your package several months before your contract is due to end may have raised questions, particularly when the follow-up experience left you feeling confused. It's disappointing to hear that, after speaking with an adviser, you received a message suggesting we had been unable to contact you, as we appreciate how this could create uncertainty and undermine your confidence in the process.

At Sky, we aim to be clear and transparent when discussing customers' accounts and available options, so we're sorry to learn that this interaction has left you with a negative impression.

We'd like the opportunity to review what happened and address any concerns you have regarding the call and the information provided. Please contact our team via one of the channels below, quoting your Trustpilot review:

Rang to cancel my account as I was…

Rang to cancel my account as I was moving house in April. They then continue to charge me monthly. I send back my equipment in the package they sent me, i get an email on 29th May saying thanks, we've recieved the equipment back. Then, a few weeks later I get a message saying I've had a fine applied to my account for "not sending back the equipment". When I ring up to query it, I'm told they never recieved the equipment back, that I'm locked into paying for the contract for another year, and that there's nothing I can do. On top of that, I'm currently being charged £15.60 per month for "no services" (the online accounts wording, not mine). I try the live chat system and get through to someone called "cinderella" (not even kidding, that was their name) and they can do nothing to help me, so I'm now stuck paying for something I've sent back to them, in a new house where I've already sorted broadband out. Unbelievable. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Hi Rich,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're sorry to hear about the difficulties you've experienced following your house move.

We can appreciate how frustrating it must be to contact us to cancel your services, return your equipment, receive confirmation that it has been received, and then later be informed that the equipment has not been returned and that additional charges have been applied. We also understand your concerns regarding the ongoing monthly charges, particularly if your account is showing no active services.

It's disappointing to hear that your attempts to resolve this through both our phone and online support channels have left you feeling no closer to a solution. We recognise how confusing and frustrating this situation must be, especially after you've already made alternative arrangements at your new address.

We'd like the opportunity to investigate what's happened with your account, including the cancellation request, the equipment return, and the charges you've highlighted. Please get in touch with our team through one of the channels below, quoting your Trustpilot review and, if possible, any correspondence confirming the return of your equipment:

Overall extremely poor

Would agree to a contract price and after first payment your price will go up without warning, they take whatever they want out of your bank account. Our contract was originally agreed for £60 per month and rocketed to £91.99 a month with no warning. Can never get through to anyone competent in customer services and would often have you transferring from line to line with different people pushing deals on you rather than wanting to discuss your problem. Would have full weeks without broadband but no discount or incentive when this happened. No reward for loyal customers - we were with sky for almost 10 years and gave them chance after chance but each year they got worse. Definitely would not recommend. Appalling.

Hi Saffy,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're sorry to hear that your experience with Sky has left you feeling so disappointed after being a customer for almost 10 years.

We understand how frustrating it can be when there are concerns about billing, particularly if you weren't expecting changes to your monthly costs. We're also sorry to hear that you've experienced difficulties when trying to discuss these concerns with our teams and that you felt your issues weren't being addressed in the way you expected.

It's equally disappointing to learn that you've experienced periods without broadband service and feel that the support provided did not reflect the loyalty you've shown over the years. We appreciate that reliable service and clear communication are important, and we're sorry that you've been left with such a negative impression.

I could give zero I would

I could give zero I would!
I am writing this because I am deeply disappointed by the total lack of empathy shown by Sky Mobile during the hardest time of my life.

My mother was in her final days, receiving end‑of‑life care in a hospice after a long battle with cancer. She was deteriorating fast, and we were in complete shock and distress. In this emergency, my husband needed to speak urgently to his sister, who is a doctor living in Australia. In the panic and worry of the moment, he did not think to use apps or Wi‑Fi – he just called her directly.

We contacted Sky straight away to explain these very special circumstances, and asked if they would waive these charges as a one‑off act of kindness. We were told no, and that the charges must be paid in full.

I understand contracts and pricing, but rules should never come before basic humanity. When customers are at their most vulnerable, grieving and making emergency decisions, companies should show understanding, not strict refusal.

This experience has been heartbreaking on top of everything else we are going through. I hope Sky will rethink how they treat people in crisis situations.

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Firstly, we'd like to offer our sincere condolences to you and your family for your loss.

We're very sorry to hear that this situation added further distress during what was already an incredibly difficult and emotional time. We understand that when faced with a family emergency, decisions are made in the moment, and the priority is speaking to loved ones, not checking tariffs or alternative calling options.

We appreciate why you contacted us to explain the circumstances and can understand your disappointment with the outcome. Situations involving end-of-life care and bereavement are deeply personal, and we're sorry to hear that you felt a lack of empathy and understanding when seeking support.

Avoid Like the Plague!

Sky themselves were perfect for me under their Special Assistance team! Then I was forced to have City Fibre installed! They have placed their router in the middle of my bedroom wall together with plug! This is the furthest point away from my equipment and the signal is so weak everything has to be taken to 1 foot away from the router! Even to the extent of unscrewing the Ring doorbell. Pretty impossible for a wheelchair bound customer! An Engineer was booked, but after waiting over a week he did not arrive. On phoning Sky was told give him another 2 hours. Still no show, phoned again told give him another 2 hours. A total of 6 hours sitting by the front door as the doorbell does not work obviously! After numerous attempts at phoning them and over 3 hours on the phone a new appointment was made for 3 weeks time! Their customer service is appalling if you can get through the system to speak to someone! I am now waiting to see if this Engineer fronts up! I have nothing connected up other than the phone which is so slow it is like watching paint dry and a big yellow banner stating Network connection slow across the bottom!

Hi Jan,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're pleased to hear that you've had positive experiences with our Special Assistance team, but we're sorry to learn that your broadband installation and subsequent support experience have been so frustrating.

We understand how concerning it must be to have your router installed in a location that doesn't meet your needs, particularly when the Wi-Fi coverage is poor and you're having to move devices extremely close to the router just to maintain a connection. We also appreciate the additional challenges this creates given your mobility requirements.

It's particularly disappointing to hear that an engineer appointment was missed after you'd already waited over a week, and that you then spent several hours waiting after being advised the engineer was running late. We can understand your frustration at having to make repeated calls and then wait several more weeks for another appointment, especially while continuing to experience connectivity issues.

We'd like the opportunity to review the installation, the missed appointment, and the support you've received so far to ensure your concerns are looked into properly. Please contact our team via one of the channels below, quoting your Trustpilot review:
