Dislike the fact that they dgive free searches over Remebrance Sunday.
Good source of original images of English parish registers I needed Lincolnshire (which used to be on Lincs to the Past for free) but original images are now on FMP. I can only comment about the parishes I searched. I wish lists of search results, always showed dates so easier to identify relevant entry. Needs to be used in conjunction with other ancestry websites and county, National archives and other sources etc. As for all sites "hints" need checking out before accepting, as do others' trees. Overall I would say Find My Past is indispensable for online English research. I can't comment about tree building as I use FMP for research. I do Intend to import one from my other main site. Cost wise it's quite expensive but worth it for me, so I can use it at home, rather than go to libraries or family history research locations. If you were considering buying it, I recommend checking it's holdings before, to ensure it has the county/parish or other records you need (and cannot find elsewhere or on free websites). Overall it is great. Large number of newspapers original pages with search . Again check coverage before buying. overall great.

It has records other sites do not , including newspapers. Searching is relatively straightforward. Most of the transcriptions are reasonable

This site was very useful to me in finding records of a friend who died in the 1990s.

I have looked up one person in my family which I already bought a birth certificate from scotlands people website to see how easy it was to use the search and found that this website has taken the time to type up the certificates so its a lot easier to read which is so helpful. I would recommend Find My Past website.

This site has been essential to my family history research.

If you know your family has England/Wales origins there is no better website than FMP to quickly and easily get to the citations you need cutting out all those obviously incorrect 'hints' other sites give you. The search facility is second to none allowing many ways to tackle a family mystery while not overwhelming you with rubbish results.

-able to find records unlike any other website
-data presentation is clear, concise
-appreciate the links to documents housed on various other places ie. NLI
-appreciate the Irish focus but to think it is only about Irish data is a mistake! so much more!
-search, navigation are top notch!
-customer service is amazing!

My research is quite advanced and I was looking for a very specific thing. Unfortunately, it was not my family. Thank you for your service.

A great range of different records included with subscription, reasonably priced. Navigation is straightforward. Works well with Family Historian genealogy program

I didn't know I had signed in using my Facebook account. It's good they leave you an account number to use when contacting them. I'm thankful for that. But I hope they contact me regarding this review. My experience is almost negative but the positive parts, such as the ability to leave a review and an account number to reference when I do contact them have added a little cushion for the discomfort of finding them attached and logged into my Facebook. Which is essentially my fault anyway.
Until now, I would have given Find My Past five stars for a number of reasons. I am very disappointed to receive an email from them telling me that I have to download an app to be able to access my account in future.
I deliberately don’t add apps to my devices and I object to being forced to get one in order to be able to access an account and service I am already paying a subscription for.

Very easy to look up a name. The newspaper records are great. Easy to copy.

The research facility is very good but way too expensive for me as I have very little to do now. I am In Australia, so any exchange rate is beyond my means. Cheers
