Company dishonest & appears to be in dire straits
I don't give excoriating reviews lightly, but given the clear evidence that this Company deliberately sold goods in bad faith I shall do so to warn other potential customers.
Sales staff undoubtedly knew that longstanding, euphemistic "logistical issues" (which are evidenced in replies to many previous reviews going back to June & earlier) meant they would not deliver goods within the "maximum of 30 days" (their Ts&Cs), if at all - despite confirmed separately as being in stock & available from the Supplier - yet they quoted positively & entered into a contract regardless. The very same flagstones that Paving Superstore could & should have transported from the Supplier, yet unfathomably did not, had to be bought from another company; & they were then delivered very promptly.
Unsurprisingly, reading the plethora of bad reviews now available on this site, Paving Superstore has failed to refund the original payment & knowingly misled in predicting its timescale & success. Not that emails are being responded to now, should the Director or an employee post a response below then I predict that it will tediously attempt to apportion blame for this on a third party.
Edit. I see that the Company has "flagged this for harmful content". I contrast the time it spends on this site with its lack of determination to refund those customers that it has let down and whose money it is probably using to survive. I note that there has been no positive review by a verified buyer on reviews.io - the site that the Company uses - for at least 5 months. Contrast this with the consistently !!! and :))) -laden, unverified, positive reviews that have appeared recently on Trustpilot.
Edit 2. I have been asked by Trustpilot to provide my personal details to forward to Paving Superstore... {}
I ask that Trustpilot instead concentrates on continuing to investigate the suspicious positive reviews.
Of the batch of 3 that appeared with immaculate photos - including one 'Joseph Merrick' (the Elephant Man but without facial deformity) - and reviews in speech marks, one remains (only 3 stars but hey, presumably it's better than the 2.3 average): Rabia Bala Opsori's, 4 Nov, with its trademark !!!, :))) and 0 instead of o. In the same vein are those by DM Trade Center of Togo/Canada (really?) and umelectricelectronics, both 3 Oct.
Kevin Thurston, 16 Aug, is suspicious. His Green Jellyfish review reads like advertisers' spin or a CV on LinkedIn. What "service" of Paving Superstore does he recommend? They sell paving and sheds.
Callum C - 20 Jul - does Paving Superstore have a US outlet?
Amy M, 11 July, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the same Amy who took my order & was said to be responsible for arranging transport. Funny how a similar positive review appeared from a Gwen on the same day.
Edit 3. I have been reminded by Trustpilot to "Provide Paving Superstore with more information [ie personal contact details] This will help them write a more useful reply to you. It'll also help them verify that you’ve had a genuine experience with their business" otherwise, coercively, my review "may be taken down".
This is the 'genuine experience': the incompetent & disingenuous (I'm being charitable in not using 'conning') Company still has almost £2000 of mine, failing to refund over 6 weeks after announcing it would. This is not mere "inconvenience"; it is a horrible experience and a legal matter, as appears to be the case with other customers.
{} A Company that appears not to have the confidence to invite Trustpilot reviews from dissatisfied customers or even satisfied customers, should any recent ones genuinely exist. A Company that does not respond to emails & has not responded to the review of my verifiable experience. A Company that appears, outside the review process, to have convinced/coerced another reviewer into backtracking from 1 star to 5 stars. {}
Edit 4: Verified experience with submission of redacted receipt as requested by an individual at Trustpilot.
Edit 5: Have a look at Companies House at the accounts of the Company trading as Paving Superstore (Anglian Garden & Building). The last published ones are not great & they coincidentally extended the accounting period earlier this year so no recent statement. Not a good sign & probably supports the claims of deliberate 'scamming'.
