FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: conversion pig iron contains, % by weight: carbon 3.0-4.8; silicon 0.02-0.80; manganese 0.01-1.5; vanadium 0.03-1.0; titanium 0.02-0.6; phosphor 0.015-0.10; sulfur 0.010-0.050; copper 0.01-0.12; nickel 0.02-0.30; cobalt 0.001-0.140; chromium 0.02-0.9; aluminum 0.03-0.15; gallium 0.0001-0.003; hafnium 0.0001-0.004; iron the balance. Usage of this conversion pig iron allows costs for iron and ore portion of burden and fuel to be reduced by 6-9%, extent of vanadium transition into slag to be increased by 1.1-1.5%, extraction of chromium and titanium to be increased by 1-2% and wear resistance of constructional steels to be increased by 4-25%.
