Abstract

FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, pig-iron compositions for production of marketable vanadium pig-iron and also for its conversion to produce vanadium slag and carbon half-finished product. SUBSTANCE: conversion pig-iron has carbon, silicon, manganese, vanadium, titanium, phosphorus, sulfur, copper, nickel, cobalt, chromium, aluminum, germanium, scandium and iron with following ratio of the components; carbon 3.0 - 4.8; silicon 0.02 - 0.80; manganese 0.01 - 1.5; Vanadium 0.03 - 1; titanium 0.02 - 0.6; phosphorus 0.015 - 0.10; sulfur 0.010 - 0.050; copper 0.01 - 0.12; nickel 0.02 - 0.30; cobalt 0.001 - 0.14; chromium - 0.02 - 0.9; aluminum 0.01 - 0.15; germanium 0.0001 - 0.002; scandium 0.0001 - 0.015; iron - balance. usage of the conversion pig-iron allows to decrease expenditures on iron ore part of charge and fuel by 10 - 15 %, to increase degree of vanadium transition in slag by 0.9 - 1.5 %, to increase degree of chromium and titanium extraction by 1.3 - 2.2 %, and also to improve wearability of constructional marks of steel and pig-iron. EFFECT: decreased costs of charge and fuel, increased degree of vanadium transition in slag, chromium and titanium extraction, improved wearability of structural marks steel and pig-iron. 1 tbl

Claims (1)

The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, and specifically to compositions of cast iron used as commercial vanadium cast iron, as well as for converter processing to produce vanadium slag and carbon intermediate. The proposed pig iron contains carbon, silicon, manganese, vanadium, titanium, phosphorus, sulfur, copper, nickel, iron, germanium and scandium in the following ratio, wt. %: carbon 3.0 - 4.8, silicon 0.02 - 0.80, manganese 0.01 - 1.5, vanadium 0.03 - 1.0, titanium 0.02 - 0.6, phosphorus 0.015 - 0.10, sulfur 0.010 - 0.050, copper 0.01 - 0.12, nickel 0.02 - 0.30, cobalt 0.001 - 0.14, chromium 0.02 - 0.9, aluminum 0.01 - 0, 15, germanium 0.0001 - 0.002, scandium 0.0001 - 0.015, the rest is iron. The use of said pig iron makes it possible to reduce the cost of the iron ore part of the charge and fuel by 5 - 10%, increase the degree of transition of vanadium to slag by 0.9 - 1.5%, and increase the degree of extraction of chromium and titanium by 1.3 - 2.2% , as well as improve the wear resistance of structural grades of steel and cast iron.
