Abstract
A sealed reservoir filled with water feeds a distributor from which plants are supplied. A balance beam carries a water trough at one end and a weight at the other. A tube is carried by the beam so that its lower, open end is immersed in a constant level water trough. A second tube has one end in tube and the other end is adjustably positioned in the reservoir. When evaporation from trough unbalances the beam the tube lifts, admitting air to the reservoir. This allows water to flow from the reservoir. When a siphon has filled, it empties into the trough and that end of the beam falls and release of water from the reservoir ceases.
