Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 104 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported significant dissatisfaction with the service and customer support, often finding it difficult to get assistance or reach a human. Reviewers frequently experienced long delays for repairs, repeated rescheduling, and poor communication. Product issues were also highlighted, including cars breaking down shortly after purchase, persistent critical errors, and components not designed to last. However, some customers also noted positive interactions with staff members, describing them as professional, knowledgeable, and helpful during repairs or purchases. A few other people also felt that the cars themselves drive well and appreciated features like remote service, Superchargers, and home battery performance.

Customer support is dreadful

Customer support is dreadful. Impossible to make contact by phone or web support. FAQ and web videos only help with the obvious. In my case had problems with the delivery date (the app allocated a different date and time, with no choice). I was on holiday and had already agree the the delivery date would be the week after with the sales rep. Number plate allocated was also incorrect.

Poor service and process.
Completely lacks human contact and any service level. As soon as something doesn’t tick an algorithm it all falls over. With no one overseeing the process there is no ownership to put anything right and there for nothing does. You get treated like an order number. Sadly it looks like I’m in good company with all the rating so low and common problem with service

The 2025 Tesla Model 3 has been a very uncomfortable drive in my experience. The indicators positioned on the steering wheel make it awkward to signal while turning, which feels unintuitive and distracting.

The rear screen has also been problematic — the kids often have to bend down to adjust settings, which I find concerning from a safety perspective.

The wheels seem poorly made, as potholes have already caused cracking, and the cost to have Tesla replace them is extremely high.

This is my third electric car, and unfortunately it has been by far the worst experience so far.

Terrible Customer Service

I've repeated bad experiences with Tesla service, with my 3rd frustrating encounter, yesterday, being the worst. Ranging from unreasonably long scheduling delays to get an appt, lack of human customer service (phone numbers for real people not made available, AI bot answering the number I was able to get, supposed real people in text/chat for roadside assistance taking 10+ min to respond between each text), a mobile service no-show without communication, routing a tow to a center double the distance away (bc their tow services didn't have a contract with the one closer to me). I don't trust them at all, and I'm disgusted with the service. When I am in a place to buy a new car, it will not be Tesla and this is entirely because of the service (and let's be honest - the nazi-saluting CEO doesn't help matters).

Dreadful company, staff and owner. Shame the product is so good, but just hope it doesn’t go wrong.

Don’t really want to give one star. They are awful. The staff are not knowledgeable, are unresponsive, and don’t read previous correspondence. After nearly a month of describing my problems in various emails, photos and having to follow up, they then decided to panic and tell me my battery was a safety risk and should be closed down immediately. What morons!!

Alex from Tesla Newcastle was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He took the time to call me and clearly explain what the repair involved, which really put my mind at ease. He was patient, knowledgeable, and happy to answer my questions — not just about the repair itself, but also about the car and some of its features. I genuinely appreciated the time and care he gave, and he made me feel much more comfortable and confident after the repair. Excellent service.

It used to be better in general.

It used to be better in general.
Car drives quite lovely in general. There are quite a bit services attached, like Supercharges, nice software, service points etc.
But at the same time, Tesla seems to make more and more irritating decisions, like: removing access to third parties for Supercharger status, automatic warming up seats when conditioning is turned remotely, no phone access to service points, no option to turn off power-regeneration, limiting auto-pilot speed, etc.
And, unfortunately, some car elements are not designed to last. Biggest issue is the suspension that cannot hold car's power well enough.

Dreadful, non-existent customer service

I've never experienced such inferior customer service. Tesla are the worst. Don't answer calls and IF they do you get a bored, disinterested kid. Emails are totally ignored 90% of the time. All over you if you buying a new car. Will never have another Tesla.

Long wait for help with failed Powerwall

Hey Elon. Good customer service ain't rocket science. I write this while waiting 32 minutes and counting to speak to someone about a Tesla Powerwall less than three years old that has ceased to function.

After about 23 minutes there was a beep and I heard the same message I heard when I first rang. I can only hope i have not been returned to the back of the queue!

While waiting I Googled "Why is Tesla customer service so poor?" The detailed AI summary gives lots of issues that could easily be addressed. And Grok AI says much the same!

What prevents the wealthiest person in the world ensuring these issues are fixed?

I did make an enquiry about my Powerwall a while ago and when I got through the guy I spoke with was really helpful, but waiting this long with no message of apology or indication of how long the wait might take is more than disapointing.

I wish i read these reviews before i went and got the tesla. A flurry of people trying to get me to go and collect before Christmas (after being told it would be delivered) and now post christmas i am trying to find out when i will be getting this car..... absolutely zilch from the sales team. Nothing for weeks! How can you operate a business like this? I still don't have the car after waiting months... and no update.. .nothing!

Check The Number of Poor Support Problems

Same as others no support once you buy the car. There was an over payment of almost $90,000 can't get a confirmation that I will be reimbursed for this money. It presently is putting me in a financial find and not only can a I get a confirmation as to getting my money back or when. Does Musk need money that badly!Their support once you buy the car is less than 1 and very disappointing. Had I know how poorly their support is I would not have bought this car!

Avoid buying a Tesla at all costs

Avoid buying a Tesla at all costs. The sales and service team are absolute rubbish and non existent. They treat customers like garbage. I dealt wit a guy called Dan Buchanan who did not respond to emails. I have the trail to prove it. Nothing was done and that’s the sales team. Delivery was delayed and had to send someone to collect at Xmas week despite the fact car should have been delivered month before. The uk team should be banned from selling these cars. They are destroying the brand. Absolutely shameful!

Dream to disaster - extremely disappointing ownership experience

Owning a Tesla Model S 100D has been one of the most frustrating car ownership experiences I have had. The vehicle has suffered repeated faults, each resulting in very high repair costs.

The first major issue was the front boot locking shut, which cost £2,750 to repair. This was followed by a coolant level issue that cost £250. I am now receiving warnings relating to the battery fuse, the door sensors have failed, and I am unable to open the front door properly. These are serious faults affecting daily use and safety, not minor inconveniences.

What makes this experience unacceptable is that most of these issues are not covered under warranty, despite being known and common problems on this model. The cost of Tesla servicing and repairs in just one year is enough to purchase another electric vehicle.

The service centre experience has also been very poor. There is little empathy, no goodwill shown, and no accountability for repeated defects. Communication is weak and the attitude of staff is dismissive, leaving customers with no option but to pay.

Tesla presents itself as a premium brand, but the reliability and aftersales support do not match that image. Based on my experience, I would never recommend Tesla to anyone considering an electric vehicle.

Had a lingering random critical error…

Had a lingering random critical error issue for seven years, the car stayed in their service centers over 400 days. Each repair they replaced a new component and claimed it’s fixed, yet the problem came back again and again. The problem created numerous dangerous situations on the road. The repair cost exploded after the extended warranty period ended, they didn’t acknowledge it’s the same problem, the car became a nightmare to own. This ungrateful company treats their early adopters will greed and arrogance.

Model 3 As Expected

I bought a Tesla Model 3 and have been happy with it. The features are amazing, the look fits my expectations for price and the range is reasonable. We would always like more, but this is where the technology is in 2025.

Tesla customer service is the worst…

Tesla customer service is the worst customer service I have ever experienced with any brand in my life.
Many times it just feels like a scam and not real company. I booked the car but after my experience with their customer service I decided to cancel my booking and buy Audi.
