Skinny as a provider are one of the cheapest but it really is counter productive when their app has major issues with loading and conectivity. I can never seem to load credit, update card info, renew... See more

App has known problems
App has known problems, customer service suggested using webpage. Entering creditcard details was not possible as the page kept reverting back to the meny. After 24 hrs went and bought a competitor's sim card that functioned right away out the box. Skinny had a long list of troubleshooting questions relating to the phone, but should instead put focus on fixing their systems
I would not recommend Skinny
I would not recommend Skinny. Their actual mobile service is good - I believe they use the Spark network, and their prices are good too, but you do get what you pay for. The Skinny iOS app is virtually unusable, and their main customer support seems to be via Messenger which has proved hopeless. I needed to change my email address, which you can’t do via the Skinny website it seems. Skinny couldn’t verify my identity over Messenger and so couldn’t help me change my email address. It’s actually easier to change mobile provider than change an email address it seems.
Again we have no internet
Again we have no internet
The service from Skinny is shocking
Keep getting timed out on the chat .. which is probably some robot .. so then you get to deal with a different robot and need to repeat everything .. 2 times .. damn you skinny
We will be going to a different provider
Skinny STUFF UP. Skinny have transferred my broadband…
Skinny have transferred my broadband account 3 days before we move to a new address. The current owners now have no fibre broadband. Getting an intelligent response from Skinny on a weekend has proved absolutely impossible. Their help system is woefully inadequate
Worst service provider ever
Worst service provider ever, stay away from them.
Worst customer service experience ever
Worst customer service experience ever. Tried to top up my daughter's phone - 3 payments went through to my bank account and yet none of those payments reached my daughter's phone or my phone. Spoke to customer service and she couldn't help. Then said she couldn't speak to me as I was trying to top up my daughter's phone - the payments were all from my bank account.
Worst of the internet providers
I have been with every internet provider at some point in my life and this has been the worst, even on an unlimited plan, the speed is terrible and internet will randomly cut out at least once a day until I hard reset the modem. Contacting the support just gave me a stock response of “make sure it’s plugged in properly” etc. as soon as this month is up I’m going back to one of the bigger providers, a slightly cheaper cost isn’t worth the slow speeds and the hassle.
No customer service
Advertised that they are available in the weekend, not. Sent message through Facebook messenger, no staff there. I urgently need help, none available. Very very poor service
Purchased overseas roaming services…
Purchased overseas roaming services from skinny or should I say NO service st all!.
I
My wife and I traveled recently overseas and no local networks available, then when it did connect it was intermittent and any data was eaten in minutes. Total waste of money! Useless service! If I could give a 0 star I would!! Don't use save your money!
Actually useless company
Actually useless company. Pay a little more with another provider and avoid this shambles all together.
Broken company
Poor no communication what so ever, activation number doesnt work. Broken company
I had no issues
I had no issues, when I was a customer.
Still have this as a backup.
Prepaid plans were good, spark network is fastest 5G where I live.
No Customer Service I had to upgrade my phone to 4 and 5 G…
I had to upgrade my phone to 4 and 5 G when skinny recently cut off 3G. Their net work keeps sending the same txt up to 20 times and it is just random. Phoned in emailed in and they do not talk to their customers. It is very odd as they are a communications /Phone company. They keep emailing me asking for me to answer their privacy questions. I have answered them and sent them on the reply email. The next person will ask me the same question. The answers are right below. They have not even read the email. I am not sure if there are even humans in their customer care team. The text issue is a few weeks into not being fixed or explained. My next option is to put a complaint with the Telecommunications resolution team.
When I worked over seas the joke about NZ was how do you give a kiwi a small business. Answer give them a big one first. I hope your CEO reads the reviews as he might not realize just how ashamed he should be. Train your staff better.
I have been skinny for over a year
I have been skinny for over a year. They have cheap plans but their service is really bad. Yesterday, my plan finished and I was outside so I tried to recharge on their website and mobile app - it was down so I couldn’t. I tried to call support 5 times but got disconnected every time. They removed the option of topping up via bank without any communication - such a bad customer service! I couldn’t register my debit card with them because of a bug on their site. Please pay a bit extra and take up a mobile connection with a different company.
Literally could not get my phone…
Literally could not get my phone activated. Support articles on the website were dead links, and there was no way to contact a human.
great company, love their products…been ordering for years
I have always been impressed with this company. I regularly order jams and marmalade to have on toast for my breakfast and tea. My orders always arrive swiftly and they frequently have discounts so price is fair
The worst broadband ever
The worst broadband ever! Topped up with online eftpost through app and credits never came through. Customer service was useless too
I would usually be putting 5 stars up…
I would usually be putting 5 stars up but since this is the only way I can get some help desk attention it’ll have to do for now. For maybe 12 months possibly more the skinny mobile website is crashing on me. All I wanted originally was my gst receipts from the ‘my account’ page for my accountant but because the webpage hangs & hangs & leaves me hanging until finally just before the moment Im about to give up it logs me out. So I find myself wanting another thing…& thats the helpdesk/‘contact us’ page so I can complain about it, but as soon as I click the ‘Help’ link it’ll hang & I wait & wait & hang & logged out. Its soooo frustrating. Many times now Ive come real close to chucking my phone against a wall & giving up on mobile communication altogether, go back to using Jedi mind skills. Sort it out please asap. This is a five star review but 4 of the stars are still hanging & will more than likely log me out!
Was good now not even basic
Used to recommend skinny to everyone. Customer for 8 yrs. We have 5 skinny numbers in our household - 4 of them on annual plans. Recently stolen phone saw us trying to verify ourselves. 4 phone calls and we couldn't do it. Team only doing what they're told and a supervisor who insisted he doesn't report to anyone. Impossible situation and zero empathy.
Great coverage and good variation of well priced plans but ZERO customer service. Used to be really good
Terrible customer communications
Terrible customer communications. Trying to get anything fixed is impossible; my money was taken for a phone plan, and my phone plan hasn't worked. I have bought a data binge and the data not worked and not once has Skinny tried to help, or offered any help. Getting in touch with someone to help is so tricky and not user friendly. Cheap but terrible service.
