Absolute chaos

Bought a boot protector kit. They sent part of the order, and that part is for the wrong car. I can’t seem to return it as they want me to wait for the remaining part to be sent, but it’s out of stock and can’t give a date to send it so I can send it all back as one. Absolute chaos - avoid.

Unable to get help with home emergency

Filed a home emergency claim for a leaking roof after bad weather caused damage. When you call them you are diverted to a website to file the claim. Did so, submitted and then nobody contacted me. How can they get away with with selling insurance you cannot claim on and they do not help you? This is fraud.

Genuine discounts and easy process

We purchased a car through Broker4Cars and the process was very smooth and transparent. We are glad to have found these guys, as before finding them we had an awful time with one of their competitors which was enough to put us off. Broker4cars however was great. Our main contact was Dan and was always available and up-front with all information. There was no hard-sell, and no hidden fees. The price we were quoted was the price we paid, and timelines were always as transparent as they could be up until the car was in stock and they could lock down a delivery date. When we sent funds for the car, confirmations were sent very quickly.

The car we went for was at a pretty hefty discount of somewhere around 10k off list price. We did our due diligence and checked what deals we could get at our local dealers and they could not come close, even on not brand new ones.

So the upshot was we were able to get hold of a new car at a significant and genuine discount off of list price. The process from beginning to end was straight forward and Dan and the team were great to deal with. I would recommend them and will certainly come back as a first stop when we need to.

Absolute scam of a company

Absolute scam of a company. They are severely under resourced so rather than stop taking on new customers they severely limit what you can do. They reduce your limits so you max out after just a few messages. They refuse to issue refunds when you take issue with this and they seem to ignore the laws of the countries in which they operate which grant you rights of a refund if the service is materially downgraded. Don’t pay this company any money.

Untrustworthy company

Untrustworthy company. They say they offer up to £300 to pay early termination fees so you can switch broadband to them from your old supplier mid contract, however even after having submitted the proof and having it approved actually getting them to apply this credit to my account has been nothing short of mind nunbingly infuriating and two months on they still haven’t applied it .

Do not trust this company or expect them to honour their advertised deals,

Edit just to add after EEs reply - I had raised complaints about the credit not being added. So they know. And the complaints just get closed - I get a notification of closure despite nobody there doing anything or reaching out to me or anything. Useless scam of a company: avoid.

Good isp let down by a few niggles

Network wise they're fine, low latency and decent reliability. Only a couple of small niggles which would give me pause to move back again. 1. If you leave mid-month, they refuse to issue an accurate final bill showing how much of that final months cost was service fees and how much went to early termination fees. They only issue an invoice for the remaining full months early termination fees so you don't end up with accurate invoicing for how much you have actually paid in ET fees.

Also support tickets are routinely closed at lightning speed without ever confirming with you if your issue is resolved.

Aside from that, decent ISP.

Car hire excess insurance

Bought car hire excess insurance for a number of years from Eversure. First time actually claiming on it, and thankfully after supplying all the relevent information they did indeed pay out and covered what I was charged. My only comment in relation to that is it took a fairly long time from logging the claim to paying it out. I would expect something like that to be faster on supplying the invoice and proof that I had paid it out.But at least they paid out with no quibble so no issues there, will certainly continue to buy car hire excess insurance from them.

Sent out USED pillows

Ordered 2x Hybrid Pillows and they sent out quite clearly previously used and returned pillows. One absolutely stunk of old musky perfume and both had hairs on them and had already had a lot of the filling removed.

If they are going to ship out previously used items they should be via an outlet store not sending them out when they should be sending new.

I have got in touch and they said they will replace them so will update if they actually send out new ones this time. Regardless they shouldn't be trying it on like this on the chance that you don't notice and they can offload some old inventory, because it's just an awful experience for the customer opening it up and seeing hairs and smelling old perfume coming off of it.

trade in option misleading

They make a big deal about being able to trade-in on the website. Fill in all the details on the form only to be told by email you have to go to a store. What’s the point in that process it just delays things. They should probably not have the the whole trade in query option on the website if they don’t offer it for website orders. Waste of time.

Update: after posting this Tom Griffiths from richer sounds picked up this issue and did organise a trade in and new purchase for me , which I took delivery of today. So thanks Tom very happy we were able to come to a solution. My only suggestion for RS would be if the trade in process could be optimised and made easier it would be great. I would refresh my TV far more frequently than I do with an easy trade in process, being able to take delivery of a new one and get rid of my old one all at the same time. That’s the main thing that puts me off upgrading is somehow selling or doing something with a 65in tv. But very happy we were able to get it done and sorted. Thanks Tom Griffiths @ richer sounds.

Received a dodgy batch of their beer and informed them of such and they never bothered to respond, either to that or to a follow up asking if I placed another order would it be from a new/fixed batch. I suppose they didn’t want to admit that they’d brewed a bad batch. Shame really, I won’t be ordering from them again.

Product reviews are false and only show good reviews

Used to think plumbworld was alright. Placed a large order to refit 2 bathrooms and within that order had a bath which was so flimsy as to be not really fit for purpose. Left a truthful but negative review for the item on the website to warn others about the awful flimsy nature of the product and it was never published.

It is clear then that they massage the product reviews so they only show the good ones, so the ratings are not accurate. Why even bother asking for reviews if you're only going to post the positive ones?

This is poor, quite honestly. Bad enough selling some items that are absolutely dreadful quality but asking for reviews and then not publishing them because it's negative when really user reviews should advice against poor quality products.

Can't fault them

Bought a desk from Domli and can't fault them really. Super helpful and responsive customer services, emails were always responded to within minutes most of the time.

Ordered a desk of a custom size than what was available on the website and it was shipped out a delivered promptly. Well packaged to avoid shipping damage. They even pre-drilled pilot holes for the leg screws which was handy.

Only slight issue was that the included screws were too small for a solid fit on the metal legs. I understand that this was a mistake as there should have been another set of larger screws that must have been missed off so unlikely to be a common fault. Not a problem though, just in case anyone else gets a 27mm or thicker desk and needs to obtain screws, 5mm x 25mm pan head wood screws are spot on and create a nice secure fit if using the metal legs.

Otherwise really nice desk and great company to deal with. Certainly would buy from them again.

Squeezing tracker tariff customers

Octopus used to be a great company. Their tracker tariff was innovative but they've now just started using that to squeeze their customers for profit. Over time they have fiddled the tracker formula so the amount of pence additional margin they add to the wholesale unit cost per kwh has doubled and they have failed to explain why this is. There has been numerous calls for them to be more transparent about why they're baking in additional margin - they say they publish the formula which is all well and good but they don't explain why they increase their margin on the unit cost time and time again. The tracker tariff is no longer a real tracker tariff when they keep baking in more profit margin into the unit cost part of the tariff. They've completely broken that tariff and are now just squeezing their customers who remain on it. There have been many calls from many people for them to explain what they're doing here, but they have remained silent on it and refuse to.

Avoid badrhino, lack of info and poor quality products

Not a fan of this company. There's not enough information on the product pages such as the length of tshirts for all sizes which really should be made available. Tried to obtain this informationv via live chat and phone call and they didn't have it, said they'd try and email it but never did in the end.

So I ended up ordering without the information and the quality just isn't very good. The cut is weird and the fabric quality just not great, and not the correct length which could have been avoided if they'd had this information when asked.

Now I find out that they charge return fees as well which never bodes well for them being a good company to buy from. Wouldn't have ordered at all if they were able to supply basic information about their products and now have to pay to return it as well.

Didn’t refund a return

Bought a chair that ended up being faulty. Returned it. They never did refund the money. Difficult to deal with throughout. Avoid.

Adding after their response: it’s been longer than the allotted time and never did get the refund from them. Had to get credit card company involved to sort it out. Avoid.

Firstly a brand new v11 came pretty…

Firstly a brand new v11 came pretty dirty as if it's been previously used for cleaing, not acceptable given it wasn't a refurb unit. But more annoyingly fresh out of the box it was giving filter warnings and several hours speaking to 2 different support people on their site and no resolution whatsoever. Wouldn't think it would be so difficult to replace a filter.

The only thing that sours the…

The only thing that sours the experience buying from them is how they deal with returns. They encourage you to buy a returns label you may not need by making it cheaper to buy when you place the order and more expensive to buy later when you know you need one. Not cool. Also; I think they’re breaking the law not offering paid returns when an item is faulty, as faulty items are legally meant to be returned at the retailers expense. There’s no option for it on the site. If they sorted those things it would be great.

Antiquated and wasteful company.

Hargreaves Landsdown is extremely antiquated. Everything requires a paper form to be printed off, filled out by hand, signed, and posted back. It isn't a legal requirement, because other providers can do everything paperless and online based these days. And every little thing you do on the account, such as set up a regular savings or set up a direct debit, generates a paper letter being sent out and posted to you. Absolutely wasteful and completely NOT NECESSARY or legally required. Clearly their high fees are because of the sheer volumes of paper and postage they have to purchase.

HL - get with the times. Nobody needs this sheer amount of paper forms or letters anymore. Do it all online like everyone else does.

Also, the figures for prices in the app are very out of date. A quick google shows the current accurate price - HL app is at least half an hour out of date.

Absolute useless company and support

I no longer trust airbnb. They say you can contact their support 24/7 yet it takes hours and hours to get a response.

I rented a place which was affected by bad weather. On arrival it had no power, no running water, therefore no washing or toilet facilities either. The lack of power meant absolutely no amenities available. Host is completely unhelpful. Contact Airbnb support and they take hours to respond and ultimately try and convince me to stay there rather than going somewhere else. As it is late, too late to go elsewhere, I agree to stay the night despite no power water heating or anything.

As the power and water is still not on the following day I decide to leave. The problem here is you’d think you’d get some support from Airbnb? Nope. Despite not having any amenities not even power or water Airbnb STILL charge you for the night there! They ultimately refund the nights not used but they are zero help when the place is not as described and don’t do anything except the bare minimum. There’s no way they should still charge when nothing is as described, they really owe a refund.
