Good way to find lots of activities but beware-they don’t back you up if things go wrong with the local companies they hooked you up to. You’re on your own, even if you get stranded in another country. Safer to use for day trips but i advise against multi day tours.

Mount St Michel (France) - missing ticket to Abbey after climbing for 2hrs. Couldn’t leave my 70yr old mother alone alas her partner stayed back (party of x4) - thought was being reasonable requesting x2 refunds of x1 missing ticket & x1 person who looked after my elderly mother. Fought for x4 wks and they only refunded x1 ticket. Never mind the fact this was a once in a lifetime opportunity so the entire experience was ruined for all - thought I was being fair by requesting x2 should be refunded, but no. Disgraceful company and will never book via them or their partner Booking.Com who equally didn’t bother trying to refund the second unused ticket. Anyone would think I was asking for x4 Abbey tickets and the tour to be refunded equalling over £260….!!!!

We have used Viator in Mexico City and Las Vegas and each time have had great experiences. The tours and companies they work with are fantastic. We will continue to use them on future trips. Highly recommend!

I been using Viator for my trips excursions it never disappoints always great tour guides and activities.

We booked an excursion through Viator (reference 1443685913), and after noticing a date error, requested a change through their own platform instead of cancelling and rebooking. The change was confirmed on our end, but due to a system error on their side it wasn’t properly registered

On the day of the activity, we arrived at the meeting point at the exact time indicated (we have timestamped photos as proof). The bus gave no explanation and left us there with no way to board. We had to hire a private driver at our own expense just to salvage the day.

Worst of all: when we complained via chat, a Viator representative explicitly acknowledged the booking was valid for that morning — but they later tried to claim we “didn’t show up,” which our photos completely disprove.

We offered to use the amount as credit toward another excursion at our next destination (Krabi). They refused. They accepted neither the withdrawal nor any reasonable solution. We’ve had to go through our bank to dispute the charge.

If something goes wrong on their end, don’t expect them to take responsibility. Be very careful booking through this platform.

All of my bookings went smoothly. Viator offered plenty of activities in Chicago. The venues accepted my electronic tickets via the app. I like that you can accumulate cash rewards by using Viator. Would definitely use them again and look forward to applying my rewards next time.

Viator sold us tickets that did not exist. Scam do not use them it's a scam

I booked two excursions through Viator during my trip to Tenerife. The first was a whale-watching excursion, and unfortunately, there was an issue with the booking. When we arrived at the meeting point and found the boat, we were told that our names were not on the passenger list. The captain checked everything and confirmed that we were not listed.

I contacted Viator immediately while we were there, and they spoke directly with the captain. We were advised to pay for the excursion directly and were told that Viator would refund us. Thankfully, we were still able to enjoy the boat trip, but the situation was quite stressful and certainly not the start to the excursion we had expected.

The second excursion was parasailing, and thankfully, everything went smoothly. It was well organised and we had a really enjoyable experience.

Overall, while we had a great time on both activities, the booking issue with the whale-watching excursion was disappointing and caused unnecessary stress. I hope Viator can improve its booking and communication process to prevent this happening to other customers.

Although I have had positive experiences booking through viator, my most recent experience is making me question whether I will have any future bookings with them. I had a tour cancel after the tour time had already started And only after I called to see what was going on.
When speaking with customer service, they acted like they had no stake in the game. It was all the tour operator's fault and that they had no responsibility to make things right. They almost seem surprised that they should be accountable. They tried to defer the issues between me and the tour operator whom I had no transactions with and didn't even know the name of the company because I had booked through Viator. The lack of accountability and solutions were quite frustrating. They only participated after being pushed by me. They tried to make me come up with a solution to fix the issue. They also treated tour experiences as completely interchangeable as if one tour could just be subbed for another without any regard for the content. They weren't really concerned with fixing the issue, it was more about a token gesture to make the complaint go away. I was not happy. In the end, Viator actually did nothing for me. The tour operator gave me a gesture to partially make up for what happened.

Viator sells Luxury tours but gives the cheapest local provider. Not only that, some of the local providers also do last minute cancellation leaving you without a tour. You have to fend for your self. This is from my very recent experience at Krakow. Do not use Viator provided local operator unless you have checked out the reviews of the local operator. This defeats the whole purpose of using Viator. You might as well book directly and not have to pay the very high markup to Viator. Use Viator at your own risk.

The boat trip was interesting and informative. Jayson is a great guide with a good command of English, so that helped a lot.

I have used Viator for excursions in Europe and locally here at home in SC. I find them dependable and easy to change reservations when needed as well as cancel. This particular one was for a segway tour of Huntington Beach State Park in South Carolina. The excursion was so much fun and the guide (Bob) was very knowlegdable and presented the history in an enjoyable way.
