Very easy and a great price, but slight concern over the pick up time. We land at 8pm and their office closes at that time. I entered this when booking and no information came up to suggest there wo... See more

We booked a car to pick up from Malaga through DYS with the vehicle being provided by Goldcar
For once we landed on time but when we went to collect the car which had been prepaid I was informed that because my credit card didn’t have embossed numbers on it I couldn’t have a car. I had to re order another car with another provider at considerable extra expense and wait over 4 hours whilst it was processed. Avoid both of these outfits like the plague, my recommendation is to use Autoreisen . My money was eventually refunded by my credit card company via a charge back .
Very easy booking process.
Email confirmation came through in minutes, and very good prices.
Highly recommend 👌

Hele slechte ervaring. 250 cc scooter gevraagd 125 cc gekregen.
I sent a request for refund trough your website 5 days ago. When can I expect a reponse?
Dear DoYouSpain Customer Service,
I am writing to formally request a full refund of the amount paid for my motorbike rental under Booking Reference DYS-217620934, supplied by Jota Cafe Motorbikes, Barcelona Airport (BCN), for the period 27/08/2026 20:00 to 30/08/2026 09:00 (3 days).
What I booked and paid for:
My confirmed booking, as stated in the confirmation sent to me by the supplier, was for a Yamaha XMAX 250cc (or similar), Group 41.
What actually happened:
1. Vehicle not delivered as booked. On arrival at pick-up, the supplier did not have the booked 250cc scooter available and instead assigned me a 125cc Linhai. I raised this immediately in writing and explained that I specifically needed a 250cc vehicle for the trip I had planned, and asked that no downgrade take place. The supplier's only proposed solution was for me to first collect the 125cc and separately travel to their office, outside the airport, to attempt an exchange — which was not a reasonable or practical option on arrival, with no guarantee a suitable bike would even be available. I was left with no real alternative but to accept the 125cc under protest, which I did in writing at the time.
2. Breakdown of the substitute vehicle. On the same evening, at approximately 21:00, the throttle cable of the 125cc snapped while I was riding on the highway, leaving the bike inoperable and me stranded at the roadside. I contacted the supplier immediately, including repeated calls that went unanswered, and it took roughly an hour before a tow truck was arranged. The mechanical failure was confirmed by the tow-truck driver as a broken cable, through no fault of mine.
3. No replacement vehicle provided, additional costs incurred by me. The tow truck collected the disabled bike but did not provide a replacement. I was told by the driver to arrange my own taxi to reach my destination, which I had to organise myself, at that time of night. Eventualy a friend picked me up. The supplier confirmed no replacement could be sent that evening and only offered an alternative scooter the following morning — by which point, given a full schedule of meetings over the remaining days of my trip, a replacement was no longer a workable solution for me. I therefore requested a refund instead, which I raised directly with the supplier (Jota Cafe Motorbikes, contact: Mateo) on 27–28 August. The supplier confirmed that any refund of the rental amount must be requested directly from DoYouSpain, which is the purpose of this message.
Why I am entitled to a full refund:
As a consumer, I have the right to receive a service that conforms to what was contracted, and to a fair and full refund when it does not. This is a well-established principle of Spanish and EU consumer protection law (including the Spanish General Law for the Defence of Consumers and Users, Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007), under which a service must match the characteristics and quality that were agreed, and where it does not, the consumer is entitled to a corresponding price reduction or a full refund. I was not provided with the vehicle group I booked and paid for; the substitute vehicle I was compelled to accept broke down through no fault of my own; and I was left without transport, without a replacement, and out of pocket for a taxi, none of which was caused by any misuse on my part.
What I am requesting:
A full refund of the total amount I paid for this rental booking (DYS-217620934) €190,20 including upgrade of insurance. As I was picked up by a friend, I am not requesting reimbursement of taxi costs that would incurred as a direct result of being stranded with no replacement vehicle provided.
Supporting evidence:
A complete WhatsApp record with Jota Cafe Motorbikes covering the entire booking, the downgrade discussion, the breakdown, and the aftermath, including timestamped photos, videos, and my location at the time of the breakdown inluded as a attachment.
I would appreciate a response and resolution as soon as possible.
Kind regards,

We have been booking with OK cars for the last 13 years we have always had excellent service from them with decent roadworthy cars no breakdowns.

Yes we made the mistake of missing the tiny fine print regarding needing an internal driver’s license for Majorca. We had driven in Spain without problem so made the wrong assumption.
However, here’s the rest of the story and why they get 1-star.
As our reservation was rejected and we stood there in the agency stupefied, someone told us that other agencies than the one we were shuttled to, in fact do allow regular Latin alphabet licenses.
We called DYS to modify our reservation to one of those car rental companies, they told me: 1. that they do in fact do business with those companies; 2. That i would still require an international DL; 3. It was too late to change our reservation anyway (our flight was late so we supposedly missed our reservation time - what’s the point in asking for our flight details at reservation time if it doesn’t get considered?)
So we walked to another agency, rented a car there (more expensive, yes) and were on our way.
Doyouspain, this is really shady and dishonourable behaviour and will drag down your customer service reputation - and it’s deserved. When I get home I’ll be calling my credit card company and travel insurance.
Booking was easy, car selection was extensive and prices were very good
