I liked the products although pricey but just watched a documentary on VICE. They claim they have schools and they don't. The producer of Frankensense in Somalia land is not paid by the middle man. If you cannot make sure the people are paid stay out of the country. They do business in muslim countries with poor people and they should just close their doors. This company is a scam. Apparently I learned they started as a scam stealing thieves from YL. One lady in a Reddit chat claims they supported Isreal.

DoTERRA is one of the most despicable companies.

DoTERRA has the most incredible essential oils – and is one of the most despicable companies I have ever worked with. Their Customer Service is Customer Dissatisfaction. I contacted them recently regarding a bottle of essential oil that had a defective cap – it had been leaking slowly, wasting over half the contents of the bottle. DoTERRA Customer {S}care asked me for an order number; I explained that the oil was a gift from a deceased woman before she passed away. They used every excuse in the book not to help me: that the oil was past the one year warranty period, after they had told me to get the order number from the deceased person’s family. Their behaviour was inhumane. Finally I was passed off to a “Supervisor” – in the loosest sense of the word, who told me to sign up for a membership to DoTERRA; if I did this, she would happily send me a bottle of replacement oil. The membership – which I did not even want – cost $35; the bottle of oil was $33. When I pointed this out to the “Supervisor”, she ghosted me. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry that companies like this exist – but I will be taking my business, my family’s business, and anyone else I tell this [pathetic and unbelievable] story to other essential oil companies that do not have poor ratings online like DoTERRA does. Time to shop for a new company; I don’t work with companies that care about profit more than people; it changes the energetic frequency of their product and now DoTERRA essential oil is stained with the smear of inhumanity rather than pure essential oil. Horrible! Worst experience with any company I ever had!

The seller was dishonest. Product is terrible.

I was completely conned by the seller into purchasing these horrible products Microplex VM , Alpha CRS , EOmega , deep blue , and additional products that I have not even used and now I cannot get my refund. Instead, the seller, Rachel Hill sent me a nasty text message , accusing me of being an alcoholic and insulting my intelligence, by saying I don't know how to read the directions.
All of these products caused me stomach pain and diarrhoea , at this point I am seeking legal advice on how to move forward and so for damages. This is a completely dishonest and horrible company to deal with.

Overprized oil for 5EUR

I my opinion it is essential oil as any other (for 5EUR). I was recommended to use it instead of softener in washing by using just only 3 drops of Wild orange. Result no smell at all! Complete scam for 25EUR, 15ml.
DO NOT BUY and DO NOT EVEN TRY TO GET INVOLVED IN SEELING IN THIS MLM SCAM.

doTERRA’s products WORTH every penny

I have been using doTERRA products since 2019. Amazing customer service no matter what situation I had over the years. If anything was damaged or lost they would replace it no questions asked or at least offer points if the product wasn’t available. Yes, you have to get used to the website and how the Rewards program works but they will NEVER process an order without you agreeing to it. I read some of the negative reviews on here and just surprised because I had totally opposite from bad experience with the company. So many FREEBIES as well and perks. Yes, it is a network marketing and the price may seem too high BUT there are regular retail companies overseas for example that charge even more for their oils. All comes down to quality control and other factors. This business model is very beneficial for all across the board because I don’t have to google how something works or what not, I get a personal wellness advocate and a community to support me. I love this kind of service and don’t mind paying a little extra for someone to make money as well and support their family. I’d rather pay them than a corp that will spend that money for marketing fees.

On a side note, I was able to heal multiple health concerns for me and my family with the help of the natural products. So grateful!

Love this company

I’ve been using doTERRA products for a while now, and honestly, they’ve become part of my daily life.

What I love most is that I feel supported in a natural way. Whether it’s stress, sleep, digestion, or just needing a little emotional balance—these products have helped me through a lot.

I didn’t expect such a big shift when I first started, but over time I noticed real changes in how I feel day to day—more calm, more energized, and more in tune with my body.

The quality is something I truly trust, and knowing I’m using something clean and thoughtfully sourced makes a difference for me and my family.

Grateful to have found something that supports my wellness in such a simple, natural way.

I’ve been using products for 9 years already. I do not require over the counter medicine as often as I used to before. I love how fast some oils are acting on me and my kids.
The website can give you hard time sometimes but the quality of the product and customer support make up for that.

Signed up for rewards without permission

I caught an email "doTERRA LRP Reminder" informing me that today was the last day to make any changes before a loyalty order would be processed tomorrow. The order total $306. I have ordered from doTERRA once in 2024 and haven't even been on their website since. I then searched my emails and saw a couple payment failures and that I was signed up for the rewards program. I used the chatbot to inform someone may have entered my account. This doesn't make sense since the order would've been sent to my house and not the "person" who could have hacked into my account. I also checked the card on file and there is no where to delete. Thankfully the orders have failed and I caught on but there was no apology or even concern that someone may have hacked in. They need to add a cancel payment method option. This is super sketch and makes me think based off others experiences that they signed me up for this program. That is just terrible for a company to do. I'll definitely never order from them again.

I made a mistake by giving doTERRA a second chance. However I totally wasted my time with an organisation that cannot fulfil a simple purchase order. I waited 7 days for an overdue delivery to the local Post Office, only to find that EVRI had sent the items back to the supplier warehouse. DoTERRA appointed EVRI to handle their deliveries and what a complete disaster they are!

An absolutely horrible experience

An absolutely horrible experience. I will alway, always recommend against this company!
Such a nightmare! I'm just a consumer. I never planned on selling their products or be a part of the company or anything like that.
I got a few oils for my kids with a free diffuser. I thought "oh, nice" and looked forward to it. The oils came without the diffuser. When I reached out to the customer service, they said I wasn't qualifying for one when I clearly remember it was there in the cart.
Anyway, I wanted to return the products since it was very misleading. Spent half a day shooting emails back and forth on how to do a return, and it was so complicated. And then in the end of the day they just sent me a simple link for the return. I don't understand why they didn't do it right from the beginning.
When I said I wanted to delete my account permanently and never do business with them again, they said I need to fill out a termination form. A termination of contract... What contract? I never signed any contracts, I just wanted to diffuse some oil in the bedroom. I can't believe there's no simple delete button.
The structure of the company is very complicated and difficult. I never ever want to deal with them again. Very, very disappointing!

Unacceptable customer experience

I’m deeply disappointed with my experience and no longer trust this brand.

What should have been a simple resolution for a defective pump on a premium product turned into weeks of unnecessary back-and-forth, shifting requirements, and procedural obstacles. Because the item was a gift, customer service repeatedly insisted on involving the original purchaser — despite the product already being in my possession and the issue being clearly a packaging failure.

Each response introduced new demands: account numbers from a purchase made over a year ago, photos, lot numbers, partial “points,” or even a suggested three-way phone call to recover account details. Rather than offering a reasonable, customer-centered solution, the process felt designed to exhaust and discourage follow-through.

This was especially disappointing given the cost of the product and the brand’s positioning. Premium pricing should come with premium customer care — and that was not my experience here.

I will not be purchasing from this company again and would strongly caution others to consider how issues are handled after purchase, not just the quality of the product itself.

Doterra customer and Wellness advocate

I have been a doTERRA customer for quite a while, and this review is based on my personal experience.

The quality of the essential oils is generally good. I don’t dispute that. However, doTERRA is a multi-level marketing company, and that structure clearly affects pricing. The products are expensive because many people benefit from each purchase across different levels. I understand how the system works, and I understand why some people like it, but it also means customers pay significantly more.

My main issue, and the reason I am writing this review, is the monthly Loyalty Rewards Program (LRP) and how customer service handles problems with it.

Twice now, my monthly order was automatically processed incorrectly. In both cases, I had actively managed my account. I deleted items, saved the cart correctly, and placed a different order on purpose. Despite this, the wrong order still processed automatically.

Once the order was processed, I was unable to redirect it. Customer service told me the order was my responsibility, even though I am certain about what I did on my account. I was also refused a refund of the shipping costs, with the explanation that shipping fees are never refunded, regardless of the circumstances.

What bothered me most is that the issue was immediately framed as user error. There was no acknowledgment that the system itself might be flawed or confusing, and no willingness to take responsibility for repeated problems. As a loyal customer, this felt dismissive and unfair.

For a company that positions itself as premium and customer-focused, this experience was disappointing. The system offers very little flexibility or protection if something goes wrong, and once an incorrect order processes, the customer carries the financial burden.

After dealing with this situation more than once, I have decided to stop using doTERRA. I believe it is important for people to know that while the oils may be high quality, the ordering system and customer service approach can be very frustrating if issues arise.

I am sharing this so others can make an informed decision.

I HATE these evil people

I HATE these evil people, they all LIE about all these great things they have done for the country they are profiting from. DISGUSTING.
Anyone who sees this must go watch VICE News on Wellness Industries which involve Doterra, on youtube.

DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING...no " mountain time" cut off listed

I was excited to try two new products during their november BOGO special however I experienced problems because they did not say mountain time in the email, website ad, nor on the ordering page... Leaving me in california approaching midnight frantically trying to figure out why my order wouldn't go through. My review and concerns follow so others are aware 🦋

doTERRA failed to disclose Mountain Time on their BOGO promotion, causing their system to reject orders from customers in other time zones — including mine. Their website behaved inconsistently, their push notifications were misleading, and their customer service ignored ADA-related accessibility concerns. I’ve filed ADA and FTC complaints to prevent this from happening to other customers.

Note:For anyone following this thread, if you experienced similar issues during the BOGO promotion, especially regarding time-zone cutoffs or website errors, you may want to file your own FTC or ADA complaint. The more reports received, the more likely regulators are to act.

Fraudulent service

Unfortunately my experience with DoTerra is very bad. I have placed an order of 44Euros in September and after 6 weeks of waiting and no reply from customer support I decided to claim the money back through my bank. Customer service never replies, there is no reliable tracking system for the order...this is not only highly unprofessional but also fraudulent form their side. When dealing with people who actually PAY to have your products, you cannot simply ignore them when they say they have never received their order.

bad ambassador

I unfortunately had to meet a negative ambassador of this brand in Lagos, Portugal, a German guy, i guess goes by Burkadt or something, he was trying to sell me this product and he ended up leaving stains and bad smell all over my property, I dont know what was that but I had to spend so much money to get rid of what he has lift me, and after this treated me so rudly and aggressively when I complained please be more careful with choices you make of which ambassadors you use
