Review of Reese London

Appalling scam company

Appalling scam company - states it is UK based and states address as Covent Garden London. However, this is just a show - the owner is registered as living in Ireland and the company only provide a return address after several emails trying to get you to keep the goods with a small discount (usually 10%).

Goods received nothing like they are described on website. Requested return - offered 10% discount - responded "no" and that a full refund was required - also cited Consumer Rights Act and Consumer Contract Regulations.

Company responded (ignoring my request) and offering 15% discount. Again responded "no" and again requested full refund and return address.

The above was repeated several times - ignoring what I had written and saying they could change the size etc and give a 15% discount - all refused.

Finally company stated goods had to be returned to China using a tracked method - ie. very very expensive.

Pointed out that UK legislation and regulations state that goods purchased in UK (or where company states it is UK registered) must have a UK returns address. Again cited the relevant legislation. Company ignored and stated that the UK address is not for returns and these need to go to China. Repeated legislation and demanded UK return address - company ignored this completely.

Next advised that if company did not comply with UK legislation I would undertake charge back with credit card company. ReeseLondon didn't seem to care.

Appalling company that do not abide by UK legislation and refuse to allow refunds - despite being registered in the UK.

Now undergoing charge back claim - company is another Chinese business that thinks it can ignore legislation and regulations and sell mis-described good to UK customers - AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

Don't Trust this company - based in China and won't refund at all

Ordered product online. Received product only to discover it was badly mis-described and contravened the Consumer Rights Act.
Tried to return the item - only to find website states you must apply to return the product within 5 days on the order confirmation email. Order confirmation email was sent approx 8 days before the order was even delivered - so this was impossible to do !!
Also against the consumer rights act and distance selling regulations - both of which specify minimum of 14 days from date of receipt !!.
Emailed company pointing out website conditions were illegal and requesting the address to send it to (in accordance with the website instructions - customer needs to request the address for returns - the customer cannot simply return the item to the UK address listed on website.
Turns out this is another Chinese fraud companies - where they pretend to be in the UK "Oliva Mode - UK Group" but in fact they are in China.
They responded stating "30% of refund and item retained by customer" or for full refund - customer must return product to China (using a fully tracked service) - this is illegal - they must provide a UK address for returns.

Emailed and pointed out they must provide a UK address - no response.
Company just refuses to respond or actually allow returns.
Clearly the products all have massive mark up profits if they can offer 30% refund with no return !!

Do not trust this company - contact your credit card company and apply for an immediate charge back as company not complying with UK or European legislation.

Review of DPD UK

Left package requiring refrigeration outside - didn't even knock !!

DPD notified it was delivering a package. I was in and waiting for the delivery - but I am disabled and take about 20 seconds to reach the door. However, despite the package being covered in "fragile" "refrigerate me" warnings the DPD courier just put it in a box (meant for when we are not at home !!) near the front door. He did NOT ring the doorbell, nor knock on the door, nor notify us he was outside at all !!! It was only after the time for the delivery passed that I checked and found the item just dumped in the box.

My first thought was maybe I didn't hear the doorbell or knock on the door. But no, I went back and reviewed the CCTV and could clearly see the driver arrive, get out, I could even see him reading the front of the box (with the "fragile" and "refrigerate me" written in big letters) - he walked up and went straight to the box which has a plaque stating to ring doorbell first on it. He ignored that instruction too. He actually struggled to put the package into the box and then takes a picture and walks off.

At no point does the delivery driver attempt to knock on the door or ring the doorbell - in order to actually "deliver" the package !! It was just dumped in the box - even though the item noted it required "refrigeration" and the temperature outside was 25 degrees Centigrade !!!

Further more, when I checked the tracking it shows the item in the box and noted it was signed for. When I telephoned to track the item it stated it ws signed for and the person who signed for it was called (and it spells the name) "BOX". Only that is not our name that is what was delivered !!!!!

All in all, incompetent and very very lazy - did not even attempt to deliver the item.

Needless to say the item was useless after sitting in 25 degree heat instead of being refrigerated as it would have been had the Dpd driver actually knocked on the door.

The DpD van had the license number YR22 UMX.

Perhaps DPD would like to explain - why their drivers do not actually deliver to people (as opposed to leaving items without notifying the owner) ? why their drivers lie about who signed for the item ? (when no one actually did ! because they never bothered to knock on the door!)

Review of Halifax

Halifax credit card - terrible service and card refused for no reason!

Halifax sent out new card (moving from Mastercard to visa) - stated no change just start using new card. then received text stating old card would stop by 27th April. so thought I'd better switch over to using the new card. no details of any validation of card etc and informed pin remained the same. However, ..... tried to pay for parking - failed, tried to use card in John Lewis - failed, tried using it in Next - failed. no reason - just card would not work!!

Called Halifax - spoke to Elizabeth (don't think that was her real name). She insisted that I sign into the app - which I don't use !! Refused to put me through to manager - then put me on hold - then cut call off !!!

2nd call (another 20 mins wasted) - got through to Amrit - she refused to let me speak to a manager several times, then took 30 mins with me providing my card number and her unable to get the digits correct. I even gave them in 4 number blocks and got her to confirm she heard each one - which she did - saying "yes" each time - only to then say she didn't have the full number - this was repeated several times - either incompetent or stupid to answer "yes" when she did not hear the numbers !!!! Finally had to end the calls and send a complaint in writing - truly appalling experience and now going to cancel all cards with this incompetent and terrible organisation !!!!

Review of Waitrose

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Obnoxious, rude, incompetence from Customer Services

Grocery order (done loads before ) done at 7pm - all without a problem with full payment. Scheduled delivery for next day 3pm-4pm.

At 5.43 am next day - Waitrose emailed stating the payment could not be taken but no explanation as to why. Contacted Waitrose customer services - I got through to Shamera - I explained the issue and after run around and on hold several times - I was told she would need to xfer me to the "failed payments dept".

Failed Payments dept - "Luna" advised that the call was recorded - I acknowledged and asked for an explanation as to the "failed payment" (I had already checked with my card issuer who assured me all was ok) ? Again, left on hold several times and a number of periods not on hold but where Luna simply refused to speak - bizarrely! At this point I requested to speak to a manager - Luna advised - it would be between 24hrs and 72hrs ! I pointed out the order was for delivery today in 5hrs and that I am disabled and that it was therefore more urgent. Luna went silent for 30 secs, then started talking again but ignoring what I had said ! I asked to be put through to the complaints dept - again 30 secs silence - this time Luna responded with the 24hrs to 72hrs for a response. At this point following all the silences and ignoring things I said I decided to record the call from my end as well. I advised Luna of this and also made a request under the Data Protection and GDPR legislation for a copy of the call - silence for 30 secs. Luna then repeated the time period for complaints to respond ! Ignoring my request under the Data Protection Act. I repeated the request and asked Luna to acknowledge the request and confirm it would be actioned. Luna ignored me completely and repeated the timing again. I repeated my request for a copy of the call and her to acknowledge the Subject Access Request 10 times - Luna ignored all of them - Luna then advised that as I was recording the call this was not permitted and she would end the call - at which point she cut the call off. !!! So Waitrose are allowed to record call but not the customer !!!

Called again spoke to Lisa - advised I was recording the call straight away and explained why - Lisa seemed to have no problem with this but again went through the process of placing me on hold numerous times - even whilst I was speaking and asking not to be placed on hold. After this happened a number of times and without any explanation as to why I was being placed on hold - I asked Lisa what she had been doing - she stated she had spoken to the Complaints dept - I thought great - and asked to be put through to them. Lisa refused and said "they" (complaints dept) had said I needed to be put through to the failed payments team - who would deal with the complaint. I pointed out that this was totally inappropriate as it was that team I was complaining about ! Lisa ignored this and just repeated that she had to put me through to "failed payments". I then asked who she had spoken to in the complaints dept ? Lisa replied the "complaints dept" - I asked again - "who" in the complaints dept - then got 30 secs silence (again !) - then Lisa stating she had to put me through to "failed payments" - again 30secs silence - again ignored the question - this was repeated about 7 times - each with silences where she did not speak and then ignored the question and continued as if I had said nothing !!!! Incredibly rude !!! Finally I reminded her the call was recorded and asked an 8th time for the name of the person in complaints that she had spoken to who thought it was appropriate for a complaint to be handled by the subject of the complaint ! - Lisa finally stated the name as Hammad - no surname or identifier (indeed despite repeatedly asking - no-one was willing to provide any identifier or surname or anything else - only that they were all in South Africa. Great way to reduce complaints - just refuse to acknowledge that any are made and that the customer has not spoken at all !!). So frustrated I asked Lisa to record the matter as a formal complaint and informed her I would be ending the call.

Tried calling Waitrose head office - finally got through to reception and explained I was a disabled customer trying to escalate a complaint. Given the number 03456 050144 and told it was for Director Relations - I thought great at least I'm getting matter escalated ...... but no the number turns out to be a general number for John Lewis - the lady I spoke to Chenique advised she was in the calls dept and nothing to do with Waitrose. I asked to be transferred to the complaints dept - Chenique advised she dealt with complaints - further questions revealed that actually she just passed them on to waitrose - she did not deal with complaints at all. Ended call as pointless. Disgusting, obnoxious and illegal (re Data Access request) behaviour that should be held to account. Would like to hear Tom Denyard reply

Review of O2

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

1 star =too high - No Cust. Serv., No Comms, excessive charges

Been with O2 for over 10 years - only contacted them about 4 times in the first 7 or 8 years. But in the last 2 years numerous problems and complaints.

However, their customer service staff are appallingly RUDE - repeatedly talking over the top of me and failing to listen to the actual problem - even when I pointed this out to a manager "Anne" (refused to provide surname - preferred to hide - but based in the Philippines) - she acknowledged she had done this but them refused to apologise !!!!!

INCOMPETENT - even after repeatedly explaining that I had closed my o2 account and moved to another provider and that they needed to refund the balance on my O2 account to my bank - O2 repeatedly sent me additional emails advising credits had been applied to my O2 account. I advised numerous time that I could not access the O2 account as it was closed - they still ignored this and sent another email ..... stating they'd credited my O2 account - by this time I should be a millionaire as they've credited my O2 account so many times !!!!!! But still I cannot access this or get the balance refunded to MY BANK !!!!

Now looking at escalating the complaint to the Ombudsman as O2 simply do not care at all about their customers.

Contacting them is appallingly frustrating and takes hours at a time and god forbid you request the call be escalated to complaints or a manager - as they'll just refuse ..... even when provided with a complaints reference number (included below for O2). So another two hours wasted and no further forward. O2 still crediting balances to my O2 account - totally useless !!!!!!

Avoid this company like the plague - they are terrible in the extreme !!!

Review of P&O Cruises

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Impossible to contact - even when trying to pay them money !!!!

Booked cruise about 16 months ahead of the departure date.Booked for wife and myself and also for our son. P&O dealt with it as two separate bookings - no reason why given - so unhelpful.

Deposits paid and thought that's it - but then plagued by emails from P&O weekly with the same thing - reminders to book cruise insurance (which can't be done more than 12 months ahead according to the insurance company) and a splurge of advertising - I de-registered several times but this did not stop the advertising emails - pretty disgraceful.

Then got around to the balancing payment - you need to input the booking ref. and the name (as it appears on the passport) and then pay in that name ??? - paying for my wife and myself was fine - I just input all of my details. But when it came to my sons - no clarity as to whether I should be using his passport details as they set up the booking separately or my details as I'm paying (and my son was under 18 when we booked the cruise). Shouldn't be a problem - I just thought I'd call the number on the email re the final balance - but instead of a specific number for payments - P&O have just included their general number ...... where I have to waste time going through all the automated press 1 if x etc etc - took 8 mins ..... then just stuck listening to their advertising .... for over an hour !!!!! And I'm trying to pay them money - absolutely appalling communication and contacting them is impossible - will certainly never be using P&O again - the service in trying to communicate is simply appalling and drives customer away - what does it actually take to have people to answer the phone - disgusted !!! Would not recommend anyone book with them .... ever.

This whole review was accessed and typed - whilst waiting to speak to P&O - it's now been over 1.3hrs - disgraceful !!!

Review of CEWE Limited

Appalling - lie to customers and fail guarantee !

Appalling treatment - visited website for purchasing xmas gift.

Checked and website clearly noted that all orders placed before a set date and time would be guaranteed delivery for xmas.

Order was placed before the stated date and time with no problems. Acknowledgement stated delivery by 23rd December.

23rd Dec arrived and passed - no delivery. Tracked order - CEWE website states order only passed to delivery company on 22nd Dec. further tracking options now show delivery will not be until 27th Dec - i.e. AFTER CHRISTMAS !!!!!!!

Contacted company and waited on phone for almost a hour to speak with someone. Finally spoke with Hamza Nefze, whose English was quite bad. All he would say is we're sorry - I pointed out that was of no use - I cannot give their "sorry" as a Christmas Gift.

Hamza stated he could refund the cost - again of no use as I cannot now purchase it elsewhere - given their broken promises of delivery before Christmas !!

Asked to speak to a manager - told none available. Hamza advised that they do not speak to managers - managers can only be contacted by email. Then when I asked for the email address he said it wasn't an email ??? I pointed out that he clearly said it was only email contact and that the call was recorded. I asked for the name of the manager Hamza was contacting - Hamza said he didn't know !!!!! Absolutely Ridiculous. !!!

I requested the name of the manager 4 times - each time Hamza ignored the request and repeated that he was sending an email (which wasn't an email - seemingly) - even when I again pointed out the call was recorded and that I was disabled - Hamza just stated he would send the email and the manager would get back to me sometime but no idea when - before xmas, after xmas, next February !!!!!!

Asked to speak to the directors Patrick Berkhouwer or Petra Felgen but advised they were not working as it was Christmas !!!!!

Pointed out how disgraceful it was of a company to state promises of guaranteed delivery by Xmas and then fail to live up to the guarantee. Hamza agreed but just seemed to think it was Ok to do this and then just say "sorry" when the company have ruined a Christmas gift. This company cannot be trusted and simply lie to any customers. The company should be shut down and the staff sacked for lying to customers - this is close to fraudulent trading - promising something they cannot deliver by the agreed date. I would have gone elsewhere if they had been honest - so they have obtained my order by deception. !!

Requested that the manager call me back within 15 mins ..... needless to say no call back has been made - and it's been over 35 mins already !!!

Gerrry,

I am very sorry to hear about all of the issues you faced with your order. I have looked into this for you and can see that your order was placed on 21.12.2025, which was the deadline for the Christmas cut-off. According to the tracking details, the order was delivered on Wednesday, 24 December, 10:49, so it did arrive in time for Christmas. I would like to apologise for the back and forth you experienced and the uncertainty throughout the process. While I understand that apologies do not always resolve everything, any potential delay by the courier was beyond our control. From our perspective, we processed and dispatched your order on time, but the actual delivery is managed by our courier partners. In this case, I am glad they did get it to you before Christmas, and I am sorry for any distress this uncertainty may have caused.

I also apologise if it took longer for our management team to get back to you than you were hoping. This is a very busy time of year, and unfortunately they are often assisting other customers, but they always aim to reply as quickly as possible. As you requested to be contacted by management, our supervisor did send you an email with the tracking number and specified that delivery would be on 24.12.2025.

I am pleased that you received your order in time for Christmas and truly appreciate all of your feedback, as we are always aiming to improve our services. Thank you for your feedback, as it helps us improve our processes and provide a better experience for our customers moving forward.

Kind Regards,

Don't Trust these people

Went on website to get a quick comparison of annuity rates - standard for specific age and pension pot size.

After putting in details and expecting at least a vague you could get between x and y as a pension (with a further info required to narrow the range) - instead got the "we'll be in touch ..." - turns out the website itself

www - comparepensionannuity - co - uk
Real Company Name is "Lead Technologies (Europe) Limited"

merely acts as sales platform and passes "leads" through to their clients - in this case My Pension Expert.

However, when I got a call from My Pension Expert - they were very less "expert" - the girl in question had her script to follow and just wanted to go through all of my information as quickly as possible. When instead of providing my information I asked what the current standard annuity rate was she was confused and then very very vague - "depends on circumstances" etc. when I pointed out that she should know this fact as a very basic starting point she then confirmed it was 6% to 7% (which? website actually states 6.9% to 7.6% I checked afterwards).

I then asked for the range increase for enhanced annuities - again I got the "it depends on condition" and I had to explain that they would have the broad range simply based on having done a number of these and that I appreciate that there is specific criteria and each circumstance is judged on their specific condition but that they should still know what the least and maximum increase they have dealt with say in the last 6 months - i.e. if they've dealt with 100 enhanced annuities they would know the lowest enhanced rate was 8% and the highest was 12% - clearly that does not mean it should be taken as a formal quote, it just gives an idea and shows the company know what they are doing. They didn't !! Girl just kept going back to her script and wanting all of my info. At no time did the girl make me aware that I had been passed from one company to another(website) to another. Very Very Poor and not "expert" at all - if they struggle to give basic information then they should not be trusted and this girl was nothing short of incompetent.

Reply from My Pension Expert

Dear Mr Kavanagh,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry that your visit to our site and the subsequent call left you disappointed. Our aim is always to offer clear guidance at the very start of someone’s retirement planning journey, and it is clear we fell short of that for you.

Our website provides an initial overview of annuity options and then offers the chance to speak with an adviser who can give accurate guidance based on personal details. Indicative ranges can be helpful, yet they can also be misleading without understanding someone’s circumstances, which is why we sometimes move to a call when more detail is needed. That said, we accept that this should always be explained clearly so you know who will be contacting you and why.

Regarding the call itself, our advisers are trained to gather key information first because annuity rates vary significantly by health, age, location and pension size. Without that context, any figure offered would be broad to the point of being unreliable. They are expected, however, to explain this clearly and confidently and to give general guidance when appropriate. It is clear from your review that the conversation did not meet that standard, and for that we apologise.

We have passed your comments on to our compliance team, who will review your feedback.

Ignore complaints and delay as much as possible - hoping you'll go away!

Booked flights for family to travel from Southampton to Malaga in July 2024. Gave all advance notice that I am disabled - wheelchair user. Also booked hotels, excursions, special assistance at airports etc.

Less than 24hrs before flight was due to depart - contacted by BA ...by email !! - stating flight was being cancelled (but no reason given!). Telephoned the contact number and took over a hour to speak with someone. They had no info why flight cancelled but said they had an alternative - travel outward from Gatwick (2.5hrs further from our home) and return to Southampton. I explained that I was disabled and that I would need special transport to get to airport - obviously we couldn't use our normal vehicle as we couldn't leave it at Gatwick and then fly back to Southampton and vehicle still be at Gatwick. Also that all info for special assistance had already been sent to Southampton. Assured by BA rep that a) all special assistance info would be passed to Gatwick and special assistance would be waiting for us, and b) that I would be able to claim the additional cost of specialist transport given change to airport.

Arrived at Gatwick - having had to pay just under £1000 for specialist disabled accessible transport to Gatwick and for it to collect us from Southampton (as we'd have no vehicle - having not left from there). Gatwick had no idea I was disabled , no special assistance arranged, no information passed on etc etc . - finally managed to get on flight (2 hrs earlier than original departure from Southampton - so had to leave home 4.5hrs earlier).

Got to Malaga - and had holiday.

Return flight was uneventful as it was as originally arranged. But of course our vehicle was not available - hence specialist transport from Southampton to home again.

Complained to BA - very short notice of cancellation, no reasons given, no reasonable alternative provided (other than cancelling all arrangements and loosing all funds !), no special assistance info passed on to Gatwick, delays and serious amounts of stress !!

BA firstly responded stating not possible to claim cost of travelling to alternate airport - ignored all other points re special asst, lack of notice or reason for cancellation.

Rejected this and reiterated complaint and claimed full cost of additional expenses resulting directly from their change of airport.

BA didn't respond for ages (over a month) - then tried to reject claim again.

I further rejected their response and set out all details again.

BA responded - ignored request for full reason for cancellation (citing recent court case - where judge order BA to provide a reason), ignored failure to pass on special asst info, but did confirm that compensation was due for the additional expenses - however, they then went through a convoluted reasoning (which didn't add up or indeed make common sense) and offered £252 instead of almost £1,000 of costs !!! Offer rejected by me within 7 days.

Despite chasing, no further response from BA for a year - when they notified they were closing the case - seemingly because I hadn't accepted their offer !!!!!! Absolutely disgusting - strangely no telephone number provided to be able to point out this was ridiculous, and letter sent without any name - just BA customer services !!! emailed back same day and again 4 days later and again 4 days later ..... no response from BA. Website shows no way to escalate, but chat-bot did state that "dealing with high level of complaints and responses may take several weeks" - and BA think that is providing a service to customers !!!!!!! Next step is to take them to court (alternative dispute is impossible as BA delayed passed their window, also alternate dispute run and funded by BA - so not impartial).

Will take to court and like I've just seen on "Call the Bailiffs" BA will probably ignore it and I'll have to pay for Bailiff's to visit to collect the debt !!!!

This is BA's approach to complaints - ignore and hope they go away, or delay so long alternate resolution impossible and ignore court and only pay up if customer has jumped through all those hoops and still chases for reimbursement of costs !!!!!Disgraceful.

They Lie ! Mislead and fail to do what they agree

Had an Amex card for over 10 years - not always easy to use as not accepted in many many places.

About 3 years ago had few issues and noticed customer service had become quite poor - delayed response, didn't appear to want to sort out problems etc.

Then had one larger issue - bought a shed using the card - shed was damaged on receipt. Sent all relevant photos etc and retailer accepted it was faulty but would not process refund. Claim made via Amex - at this point I experienced really bad customer service - failed call backs, repeatedly requesting evidence they already had (even though Retailer had already agreed re fault). After several months finally got the amount re-credited.

However by this point I was so disillusioned that I decided to cancel my card and account. Also made a complaint - which Amex took over 3 months to deal with - then said they'd done everything properly !!

Amex continued to send emails with statement balances - all zero as I'd paid balance in full and shredded the card.

After 6 months of this I complained. Had to speak to about 5 different people before being connected to Executive Customer Relations (had to argue with them to get this far and point out this was in accordance with their own complaints procedure !).

Spoke with Divya (first name) (surname not printed here) - on discussing the problem - Divya advised that they had not closed the account and card as requested as they had not read out a "disclosure" statement. Somewhat bizaar ! I explained I was closing the account and therefore didn't care if the made a statement or not. Divya could not advise what the statement was (i.e. she couldn't do it !!) - But she was adamant that it was a legal requirement - I queried this to be sure and she repeated it numerous times confirmed it was legally required.

At this point I explain that the card was issued and the account conducted under the legislation contained within the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and that there was no requirement within in this for the card issuer to make any statement on the account being closed. Divya refuted this and again stated it was a legal requirement. I then asked her to state the exact legislation she was referring to? Divya couldn't and subsequently left me on hold for a long time whilst she went to check. Finally she returned - not with details of legislation but to state actually it was an internal guidance. Given the blatant lie I asked to speak to someone above her. Strange but no one was available but she offered a call back within 5 to 7 days !!!!! Really ! I noted I am disabled and cannot simply wait for a phone call - after much discussion with me pointing out they had by LAW (Disability Act) to make adjustments re disabilities - Divya finally advised that a senior person (no title i.e. manager etc) would call the following day between 1pm and 4pm.

So as a disabled person - unable to remain in a static position for long - I have waited for those three hours - in quite a lot of discomfort - but no call has been received !! No email, no communication at all. In fact Amex have done nothing !!!! Am I surprised they have over 79% reviews on trust pilot as level 1 - I'm sure if it were possible many people would give zero.

Disgusting treatment, faulty equip, very rude MD

System installed c.2019-director (now MD) was polite. No problems on install, however after the first annual service problems started - engineer hadn't replaced all batteries and didn't seem to know how to work the system. Further visits to rectify.

We increasingly had the panel alarm going off (always at night) - calls to out of hours/ engineer call backs, sometimes visits - invariably it turned out the equipment (not set at the time) was having faults.

Numerous repeats over the next few years. Mostly advised the batteries needed replacing (company supposed to do each annual visit !). Every eng. said the same - batteries should last 3 years (per manufacturer.), but Premier reduce to 2 years - ours were failing much sooner.

Recently panel alarm goes off at approx 2am and won't stop - every 5 mins (despite action per engineers). On call eng advised a battery issue again - signif. under the 2years) - advised use code to accept the fault - no more alerts. Worked for that night. 10 days later the same fault (!!!) - despite the system already having it acknowledged. No action working to stop panel alarm ! On call eng advises doesn't know anything about this system - will liaise colleague. Call back < 15 mins. I request either instructions to turn off all sensors or they call me back and then do this remotely- he agrees.
15 mins comes and goes - no call. at 20 mins the panel stops but still no call.

at 30 mins - call from same eng - advises colleague remotely accessed system (no call with the owners !!) and turned off one sensor. I note given the issue with batteries failing repeatedly we didn't want to be having this issue going forward - requested turn off all sensors - Eng refused - stating problem was sorted and if anything else we could call back - attitude of we've done x so tough !! Pointed out I am disabled and difficulty doing this in the middle of the night - Eng attitude of "so what" ! Requested name of colleague who remotely accessed without any call - Refused. General attitude was - we've done the min we need so tough ! irrespective of disability !! Requested call from his manager.

Manager call 30mins later - he turned off all sensors (unfortunately blocked all smart plugs so multiple lamps wouldn't turn off !!). I noted attitude of engineer (manager stated he was new !)

Spoke to manager the following day requested the removal of full system due to repeated faulty alarms / failure to operate as had been promised. Per manager above his pay grade. Manager did apologise for all the problems and for the engineers attitude !

Passed to MD (originally visited). Discussed, he also apologised re system faults and engineer. Agreed they would visit today to remove the equipment - MD stated clearly they could just power down the system & leave all in place (pointless - but saved them time) or remove all and either leave box of bits with me or remove them altogether - I chose the latter.

Engineer arrived removed equipment, put in box, box in van, then left property. 15mins later returned and put box at front door - I opened it and asked what he was doing - he stated MD told him their policy was not to take the rubbish away (i.e. faulty equipment). I pointed out that was what had been agreed and he'd already taken it away .... he was now returning and dumping it !

Called Premier, MD came on phone - Totally diff attitude ! He was rude, repeatedly talked over me and when I asked if I could finish said "no"- absolutely horrible and disgusting !!!. Finally I had to point out Consumer Rights act - faulty equip was their responsibility to remove and dispose of ! Required by law. He tried arguing per their company policy - I had to point out Consumer Rights again !! Finally he agreed to take box (approx 12 inches x 12 inches x 15 inches - so very small). Very diff attitude - very much no longer a client so we don't give a damn. MD rude and offensive and cannot be trusted. Can't believe he thought it ok to remove system and drive away ... then return and try dump the stuff on doorstep and cite company policy as if it over-rides Consumer Rights Act 2015 !!

Disgraceful attitude - Do not trust this company or equipment and especially not the MD called Mike !

Review of CJS CD Keys

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Warning - Scam, lie & delay - then say out of time! !!

Total scam and repeated liars.

Purchased MS Office in June 2024 - immediately had problems which were reported to CJS - responses were standard text of do this and this - even though my complaint outlined those actions had already been taken and still software was not working.

Emailed repeatedly over the next 9 months - just getting fobbed off by Kris J every time. Finally asked for matter to be escalated into a formal complaint and requested response from a manager above Kris J..... complaint didn't get far as Kris J answered it again with a fob off. They kept telling me that nothing could be done as the "code had been entered" - I agreed the code had been entered but that did not allow the software to be used - nothing could be saved - all those options were greyed out.

Contacted Microsoft who advised that the greyed out options indicated the software was not licensed. Microsoft also advised that CJS were not partnered or licensed to sell MS software !!!

Went back to CJS with further complaint and insisted that it was passed to a manager. Got another response - acknowledged issue (no comment on previous terrible service from Kris J) but said they could not do anything as time had passed.

Finally after repeated emails citing the legislation and consumer law etc etc they offered a credit for the cost - to be used to purchase another product at their website only !! I had already informed them that I had had to purchase the software (a replacement for theirs that simply did not work - not fit for purpose) directly from Microsoft. They went back to saying nothing they could do as the code had been input and ignoring anything said in my emails.

Finally they turned around and stated they couldn't provide a refund because PayPal will not allow this after 60 days - even though I had been complaining for a year by this time !!!! I responded clearly explaining that I had not paid via PayPal - so what PayPal state had nothing to do with this matter at all. Again response from Kris J stating they are unable to make a refund - without any reason !! Finally today - after I again stated the requirements under numerous laws - I got a response that simply states they have explained their reasons (no they haven't - PayPal has nothing to do with the transaction at all), they are closing the ticket and will not respond further.

On further checking I see that the person who has responded is not in fact a manager but the same level as Kris J - who has been so dismissive and unhelpful, evasive, lied and ignored so many of my emails.

So clearly this is a company that will refuse to give refunds - even when evidence is presented showing the software purchased does not work. They will waste time, ignore emails, fail to escalate (with the same people dealing with complaints about how they themselves have handled the complaint) and finally give any excuse as to why they cannot refund a faulty product - even though this is illegal.

All in all a total scam.

Microsoft have advised that what these companies do is as follows:
a) find a company that has gone bust, but that had a commercial license for MS office for say 50 staff.
b) they purchase the software from the liquidators - at a massive discount.
c) they sell the access codes to individuals as if they are selling the individual product - but the purchaser is simply buying the key that would have been given to a staff member of the original company.
d) many of these codes are closed by Microsoft when a company goes bust.
e) CJS are clearly selling products that do not work and then refusing to provide a legitimate refund - this is fraud.

SCAM not UK based and refuse to refund

Purchased jumpers from them - seemed reasonable price and described reasonably.

HOWEVER, the received jumpers looked 2nd hand and had no labels on them whatsoever - no label for what materials they were made from, no label for washing instructions, no label stating country of manufacturer - all these are requirements under UK Trading Standards.

Contacted - got a dismissive response from Sophia (think this is an AI and not a person). Replied and pointed out that order did not comply with Consumer Rights Act or trading standards and refund required.

Sophia ignored points made and again was dismissive - stating to return the items to their address at our cost.

Replied - advising that according to Consumer Rights Act - goods "not fit for purpose" (such as these items) - the retailer was required to pay for any returns or arrange and pay for a courier to collect the goods at their expense. Also Trading Standards required a UK address for returning items.

Again ignored by Sophia - who replied offering a 10% refund and we could keep the items. Clearly their cost is less than 10% of what they sell the items for.

Again requested a full refund and now being ignored.

This company is actually called Redwood Media Group Ltd and are based in Hong Kong. They have nothing to do with "London" other than that is the location for their scam sales !!!!! PLEASE DO NOT GET SCAMMED.

SCAM

SCAM - not partners according to MS - apps cannot be activated !!!
Found company whilst looking for good price for MS office for Mac. checked - all looked ok - stated they were MS partners and had an ID number etc. purchased MS Office for Mac 2024 - link provided downloaded the software and installed fine - but no activated ! Then went to their license validation - downloaded and installed ok - but all apps still show as not activated.

Chat support - states 24hrs and 7days available - but it states chat is closed !!!

Contacted Microsoft and provided the Partner ID from Digital license shop website - Microsoft stated they don't use partner numbers and that what is stated in invalid and that I should go back to my credit card company to get a refund !!!

Additional Edit- (AFTER FIRST RESPONSE FROM COMPANY) The company state they are a different company and I have reviewed the incorrect company.

That is possible as when you search for Digital License Shop on Trust pilot there seem to be several with similar names. However, only one of them states they have over 1116 reviews and score 4.6 on trust pilot ! Which is exactly the information stated on -
digital-license-shop.com

I have taken a screenshot but cannot seem to upload it as evidence.

So either this other company is lying totally about having any trust pilot reviews (in which case Trust Pilot themselves should be taking action (legal if necessary) to get the website taken down) and they are stealing / impersonating the company with the website - digitallicense.shop

On looking at the websites they are remarkably similar - both sell Microsoft licensed products, they look very similar to each other in how they are set out, the discounts offered, and very importantly both state very clearly they have 1116 reviews and score 4.6 on Trust Pilot. Lastly they both have a green key shape as their logo. !! Something odd is going on.

If one is a scam then the other and trust pilot should be doing something about it.

There is no actual detail on the second website clarifying who owns the company, the first at least provides several names - whether they are real or not is another matter. Scam monitoring websites appear to list both of these websites as possible scam sites

The simple fact is that clearly someone here is lying and it seems very unfortunate that the other company and Trust Pilot have not taken action to have the offending website removed.

I will leave the review for the moment as it is really impossible to say these are not the same business - there does not seem to be a trust pilot listing specifically for - digital-license-shop.com but this is not conclusive.

I would urge Trust Pilot to look into this urgently as customers will be misled by the claimed reviews which may have been stolen ?

AFTER 2ND RESPONSE - ADDITIONAL INFO FROM REVIEWER (as at 5/11/24).

1. The websites are very very similar.
2. The trust pilot listing is exactly the same.
3. Neither website state a formal company name that can be verified.
4. Neither website state the owners details that can be verified - the "about us" is just vague.
5. Both websites show up on scam monitoring websites are scams.
6. Microsoft have confirmed neither of these websites are authorised agents or partners.
7. Microsoft further state that what is being sold generally on these sort of websites is the enterprise version (where a company has purchased a license for say 100 people to use) - but then the company goes out of business and the license is then acquired by these websites and sold to 100 customers as being a single copy of the actual software. Although it doesn't seem illegal it is not very clear to customers what they are buying.

Additional Response (8 November 2024)
Further to the additional edit response from this company.

1. Look on Scam detector dot com - gives this website digital license.shop a score of 36.1 and notes it as "questionable, controversial, flagged"

You state you are not on any scam websites ??

2. It is still possible that you are innocent and another party has pretty much completely copied you website colour scheme, green key icon, trust pilot scoring etc. However typing digitallicense.shop into google via (duckduckgo) shows up only trust pilot and scam detector websites on first page.
3. As far as your company being fully traceable - "about us" on the website does not provide the company details - it merely states what you sell and that your business was started by something called softness.srl in 2014 - however, typing that into google gives no results that appear to be a company ?
4. I have not defamed you - I have provided an honest opinion - having tracked down the company with the same details digital license and the same trust pilot scoring reviews. In addition the same icon symbols etc etc. Please provide ID proof?

Fedex Lies to Customers !!!

Fedex simply lies !! Received text saying package could not be delivered and providing link - clicked on link out of interest (see below) but just takes you to the tracking page asking you for info.

Took tracking reference from original email and went directly to Fedex website myself. Tracking stated date of collection and transport across states and internationally to UK.

Then states tried to deliver but address was wrong (it wasn't !!!).

Then states tried to deliver but customer not available or business closed - really !!! I was in all day and have CCTV covering the whole front - no delivery van, no delivery person, no delivery attempt at all. Total lies from driver or system - just rubbish and lies.

Appalling service and totally un-reliable.

Review of Which?

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Which? / Which Legal Misrepresented Service - terrible services

Took out subscription to Which? digital and to Which Legal number of years ago. Had various problems on the Which? reports - queries re gaps in info or reviews of products that are simply not available for the consumer to buy (ceased by Manufacturer 2 yrs earlier) etc. Various problems reported - some just ignored and some given lip service.

Not had to use Which Legal until last year. Booked appointment and explained what issue was about. on the day got a call to the agreed number and confirmed who I was. Then Which Legal wanted to go through what they referred to as "security" - I pointed out I was expecting discussion of a legal issue and no personal information was relevant (and I wasn't asking for any personal info to be confirmed) - I just wanted them to clarify which bit of legislation would be relevant for the circumstances. Which Legal adviser (WL adv) refused to speak to me until I had answered all his "security" questions - I tried to point out he had called me and could be anyone just requesting my security details - I said I should be asking him to prove who he was - he called me ! Clearly very annoyed the WL adv hung up the call !! Tried to register a complaint but unable to get through to anyone.

Current situation - contacted WL re a parking ticket - that I thought was incorrect. Booked appt and got call on the day from adviser. Call was cut off twice - once in the middle of adviser speaking (believe this was a tech issue) and the second time - seemingly - when the adviser didn't want to answer difficult questions ! Adviser took over 10 mins to try call back each time - after the 2nd - I was on phone making a complaint !

Problem - WL adviser stated they didn't provide advise concerning parking tickets issued by councils - I was somewhat shocked as it states parking tickets issued by council very clearly on their website. The adviser was adamant they did not cover this area.

The adviser subsequently sent through a non-working link and a quoted paragraph from there terms and conditions stating they didn't deal with .... strange the quoted list only included moving vehicle offences - nothing about parking at all. I decided to look at the original document and managed to find the proper reference from the un-working link. Surprised to find that not only was there no page 27 (where the adviser stated the quote was from) but the heading provided by the adviser did not exclude parking tickets and did not include her quote.

I went back to the website and found two clear statements from Which? legal stating they could help with parking tickets issued by councils and private companies. No problem, I thought must just be a mix up - I'll send all of this through and they'll sort out the mess and honour what is on the website.

Sent through a very very detailed email and screenshots showing the website etc and also the fact that the document referred to by the adviser - did not state what she had said.

Got a three line response saying phone lines had problems and apologies - nothing whatsoever about the rest of the email - the non-working link, the booklet that does not have a page 27, the quote that does not exist, nor the website that states in several places that council issued tickets are something they give advice on ! All of it just ignored.

Had been told when I phoned to make a complaint that Which Legal manager was away but back following Monday and I would be able to speak to her to get all of this clarified. By Tuesday no call and when I called and they tried to connect the call the manager did not wish to speak to me - really !! Registered a further complaint and cancelled subscription to Which? Digital and Which? Legal - requested a full refund of all monies paid as clearly the service had never been provided and the areas they state are covered was MISREPRESENTED on their website !!!

Appalling customer services and lies to customers

After having a number of frustrating issues earlier in the year we purchased a shed from Argos using my Amex card. Shed arrived damaged and repeated calls to Argos got nowhere. So made a complaint to Amex and asked them to refund the amount under section 75.

Initially told I would have to send in evidence and they would send a link for me to do this. Link arrived and the following day I went to send through photos and copies of emails (not responded to by Argos) - only to find the complaint for s.75 refund had been closed as "evidence was not provided within 24hrs".

With a number of calls and further compliant - Amex re-opened the s.75 complaint and said they'd contacted Argos. 3 weeks later no further news - so chased Amex, only to be told that they allow retailers up to 8 weeks to respond !!! I made the point that they had closed my initial complaint within 24hrs due to me not having responded quick enough but they allow the retailer 8 weeks - seemed somewhat unfair and unreasonable.

Made formal complaint re the service and got a boiler plate standard response - we apologies and here's £50. But also noted there is no time limit in place for a retailer to respond - pretty appalling.

Following this I called Amex and instructed them to close my account completely and that I was going to shred my card. Ronaldo acknowledged this.

Following this I thought they would close the account and issue a final statement if anything was owing (although I generally clear the card in full each month) - nothing materialised. In fact over the following 3 months I continued to received emails noting my statement was ready and that a payment of £9.99 was due. I thought they were just taking time to close the account but after another month I checked and found it was still fully open - with no communication to me as to why or why my instructions were not followed.

Last week I chased the payee re the £9.99 and discovered that they had received no communication stating the account was closing. I moved the payee manually to a new card.

Today I contacted Amex - at first via chat - which took over 40 minutes to get through only for the person at the other end to refuse to do anything - include escalate the complaint - as I couldn't give details from the shredded card (I did provide name, address, tel, email and secret password on the account !!!). Obtained complaints tel number to follow up with them.

Turns out tel provided only connects to customer services (same is true of the executive customer relations team tel number - goes direct to normal customer services !!!)

Got passed the automated system and then had the message that they're very busy and call wait time could be up to 10 minutes. I waited and waited and waited - after 50 minutes !!! Call was answered by Shireeen - give the delay and the problems leading up to this point I immediately asked to speak with a manager - Shireen agreed to put me through. another 15 minute wait and Lisa came on the phone after some insistence she advised her surname began with an R (haven't included the full name here) - Lisa advised that she would be leaving within the month hence her reticence to provide her full name.

Explained all above to Lisa and queried why account was not closed - Lisa could not explain and constants spoke over the top of what I was saying or simply placed me on hold without warning and whilst I was still speaking - appalling !

After getting the run around and Lisa talking over me and being rude numerous times, I requested to speak to her manager. Lisa referred to a manager and said she would request a call back but it would take 5 working days - thought this was disgraceful. The way she referred to "manager" made me suspicious - I pointed out that I had already requested to speak to a manager and had been transferred to her - I asked outright if she was a manager - Lisa advised she wasn't. She stated she was a tenured member of staff - the same level as Shireen. I pointed out that I had been transferred to her as a manager - Lisa outlined that it is normal for "tenured staff" to simple transfer a call to another staff member of the same level instead of escalating the complaint to a manger. When I said that was shocking and that they did not advise the customer at any point Lisa stated that she had stated she was a "tenured" member of staff at the beginning of the call - I confirmed she had not ! I have since listen back to the called and she did not mention anything about "tenured staff" until I asked outright if she was a manger - Lisa simply lied. As did Shireen before her in transferring the call to a colleague on the same level instead of a manager.

I asked to speak with the Complaints dept - Lisa refused. She would only agree to escalation to a manager with a 5 days response. Still would not close account. Now heading for Ombudsman !!!! DO NOT TRUST AMEX !!

Review of Currys

Apple Thunderbolt 4 pro cables - not what they seem!!!

Wanted to buy some Apple Thunderbolt 4 pro cables - Curry's had offer on stating big discounts. Went to website price for 3m cable shows £83 but 1.8m cable is £130 which seemed odd - also no clarification if cables are active (booster at either end to help signal) or passive (which have problems over longer distances - i.e above 1m).

Tel curry's and after wait spoke to Aaron - explained queries. Aaron had no idea why cables were priced like this and just said it sounded strange.

With regard to the active/passive query - despite having already told him that info was not on the website - he still wasted time going and checking - finally returning and stating info not on website.

After a further delay - he returned and advised he'd checked with a manager and both cables were passive. I advised in the time he'd been gone I'd checked and at least one of the cables was supposed to be active.

Aaron went off again !! Whilst he was away I checked Apple UK's website - only to discover that both cables are supposed to be "active" according to apple. Waited further 4 minutes (already on hold for 10 mins) and then Aaron just cut call off !!! Appalling !

Tried calling again - gave up after 30 mins on hold.

Phoned the complaints line - strangely every option but complaints is listed and then you are automatically cut off - really good service.

Ended up on web chat service - even worse - turns out they don't deal with complaints - a secretive department that customers cannot contact does. To clarify that took over an hour with many of the points / queries being ignored. Requested the company's registered office address to send a written complaint - given a PO Box - pointed out they were required by law to provide the address - met with refusal !!!

So website without full details of the product, customer service staff who provide incorrect information (or maybe correct information and they are selling faulty or counterfeit products !!), appalling service cutting off calls because they don't want to answer queries (that's what they are there for), and a website area headed complaints and stating I can use chat to register a complaint but when you get through to a person they cannot deal with complaints.

Don't recommend buying anything from this retailer - they lie about the products and then refuse to allow any complaints to be made. Alex Baldock (CEO) should be ashamed - especially as his bio reads ".....is leading an ambitious transformation to build a Currys that helps everyone enjoy amazing technology" Really - how does he think that's happening - just look at the negative reviews on trust pilot for this company. I would rather pay apple prices direct - at least I can speak to someone who knows the product even if I have to pay a higher price. !!!!

Review of CJS CD Keys

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Terrible company

Terrible company - bought ms office for mac - received the download keys - which allowed word , excel etc to be downloaded. However the products will not work without being activated on MS website - but no activation key provided. Despite numerous emails requesting and activation key and sending screenshots - showing programs will not allow save or save as etc at all, until activation is complete. Cannot complete activation as CJS support just keeps on sending download key and nothing else - then they shut the case !! And I have to respond to say the case is not resolved !!!!! Far from it !!!! Got to the point of requesting a refund for product that has not worked since it was paid for - CJS response .... we dont give refunds its our policy. Your policy does not over-rule the legislation. Appalling treatment and total lack of support for customer just trying to get working software - have sent over 10 emails for no actual support.

ADDITIONAL
Only key provided was to download ! Have requested the activation key numerous times but nothing provided. The downloaded software is in demo mode as there is no activation key !!!! You cannot save anything. This is not a program fault to contact Microsoft. This is a sales scam where you have not provided the correct details to allow full activation of the program - numerous emails have been sent with lip service responses but never the steps and codes needed to get the programs working fully. Disgraceful customer service - this company cannot be trusted !

Reply from CJS CD Keys

hi there. You have to collect your key on cjs-cdkeys.com/autokey

then activate it on setup.office.com

I understand you have succesfully activated the key on the microsoft website - once you have activated the key you can download the software.

From there, if you have technical issues with the software itself you need to contact microsoft support and they will help you with any issues to do with the products
