Been with them since 2018 — Loughborough branch — credit where credit's due
“I’ve banked with Halifax since 2018, use the Loughborough branch — and credit where credit is due — they’ve been solid and reliable all these years. Everything is straightforward — the app works well, payments and transfers are simple, and whenever I’ve needed help or popped into the branch, the staff have always been polite, clear and really helpful. It’s a bank I trust — no unnecessary hassle, does exactly what it should, and gives me peace of mind managing my money. Happy customer — fair play, they deserve it.”
I recently got myself involved in a financial scam
I recently got myself involved in a financial scam & phoned Halifax to explain and for security guidance.
Dave answered & immediately made me feel at ease & slowly talked me through what my problem was, then promptly & professionally contacted a fellow Halifax colleague (Keith) who then spoke to me at length about the predicament I had gotten myself into.
Throughout the conversations both Dave & Keith continually asked if I needed any other support & that it was there should I require it. I cannot thank these two gentlemen enough for putting me at ease & making me feel safe & secure again. This will not happen to me ever again, so a huge thank you to Halifax & special thanks to Dave & Keith for all they did for me.
Their actions & concerns meant far more than I am able to articulate.
Huge thanks, & God bless you all at Halifax

hold up on a 1 pound payment for a test account. Been at for 1hour no one answered. Quiting using this bank for anything else.
Halifax brilliant - Since the migration to Lloyds - DREADFUL!!
Halifax briiliant .. Since the migration to lloyds Bank terrible. Lloyds do nit really care about customers. Close all the local banks, do not expand the number of ref people in the call centres.
Lloyds arrogant attitude is that they are the customer not the other way round.
Halifax debanked The Canary
Halifax debanked The Canary, a progressive independent news organisation. I've just closed my accounts (former Halifax) as I find their ethical and political stance inexcusable.

Absolutely disgusting
Absolutely disgusting. Very quick to take money but not as fast to return it when its an error. Blame everyone but themselves. Get passed from pillar to post and every time told something different. Promised if I did what they said i would get my 600£ back in 24 hours. 1 week later im still waiting. Still no further forward. Disgusting service. Liars.
I have been with this bank many years
I have been with this bank many years. But now they are closing branches everywhere. Its like a domino effect. When one falls, they all fall. Ringing them off the back of your debit card is a nightmare. Your on hold for nearly an hour waiting to speak to someone as their chat bot is unusable as it does not understand the simplest of messages. And even if their chat bot/AI puts you through to a human which they are supposed to communicate with you within 30 minutes, your left hanging for several hours. This happened to me. I got through eventually to a human who said ill be right back. 8 hours I was waiting for her return. Yes 8 hours. Halifax used to be a great bank to bank with. My nearest branch closed down and it was then an hours drive to the next nearest Halifax. But that has now gone. Funny thing with this bank is they have never given me an overdraft in all these years of banking with them. I was going to close this account of mine eventually, but I guess with the customer experience being so shocking, there chat system being a total joke, lack of an overdraft and all their branches closing, it's time to bank elsewhere.
Halifax are changing their App to…
Halifax are changing their App to Lloyds and we all have to go through the change process. That would be fine if the wretched system worked! I had multiple logon/logouts/ system problems/please try later messages. If the system changeover doesn’t work it’s hardly going to instil customer confidence. For goodness sake test your systems yourselves and don’t foist them on your customers until they work. Halifax and Lloyds are completely useless.
Awful, glad im leaving.
6 minutes of options when trying to contact customer services via phone followed by a 30 minute wait on hold to speak to someone. Lines are always 'particulary busy at the moment' regardless of when you call. I've already switched most accounts to nationwide and am so thankful I'm going.
The worst business I've ever dealt…
The worst business I've ever dealt with. I have a deputyship account for my mother and had nothing but problems from documents getting lost in post, rude staff, staff giving wrong information, website giving misinformation, chat giving misinformation, staff giving misinformation, its constant. Ive been 2 months trying to switch over to Lloyds and nobody tries to help, they just firstly blame me, then they when I explain what's happening, they then try to pass the buck on to another department. Nobody understands what their own policy is concerning deputyship accounts, I have to tell them what their own business allows and doesn't allow. This has happened with everyone I have phoned and everyone on the chat, EVERY SINGLE AGENT IN EVERY SINGLE DEPARTMENT! The same thing happens when you contact Halifax or Lloyds. Both banks are appalling.

Ever
Abusive customer service manager when interest rate is smaller than promised.
Closed my account because I can't trust them. Simply, I just wanted to know why my interest rate is much smaller than expected. Realising the discrepancy, the manager called me names for absolutely no reason. He was almost being abusive that I thought it was a scam. Do not invest in their savings account. They don't give you return as promised.

Dear Halifax Leicester Branch Manager,
Dear Halifax Leicester Branch Manager,
I am writing to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for two members of your Leicester branch, Misha, the Manager, and Leanne, for the exceptional professionalism, empathy, patience and efficiency they have shown me on two separate occasions while helping me resolve an issue involving a cancellation with Booking.com.
Their support made a significant difference to me.
As someone who has come to the UK from another country and for whom English is not my first language, making a complaint or trying to resolve a complicated issue over the telephone can sometimes be challenging. It is not always easy to understand the person on the other end of the phone, particularly when accents may be unfamiliar, and there can also be questions or terminology that you are simply not accustomed to hearing.
On top of this, when you are already nervous or frustrated because you are trying to resolve a problem, communicating clearly can become even more difficult.
On both occasions, Misha and Leanne went far beyond my expectations. They demonstrated an outstanding level of professionalism, patience, empathy and genuine willingness to help. They took the time to understand my situation, guided me through the process and made me feel that my problem was being listened to and taken seriously.
I would particularly like to highlight the human side of their service.
We live in a time when increasingly everything is being assisted or replaced by Artificial Intelligence. AI is undoubtedly an incredible tool and has many benefits, but my experience with Misha and Leanne reminded me that there is something technology can never truly replace: human warmth, empathy and the reassurance of having another person genuinely trying to help you.
That human connection is especially important when someone may already feel vulnerable because of language barriers or the stress of dealing with a difficult situation.
For this reason, I would be extremely grateful if you could ensure that Misha and Leanne receive the recognition they deserve. Their professionalism reflects exceptionally well not only on themselves, but also on Halifax and the standards of customer service that your organisation represents.
Please pass on my sincere thanks to both of them. Their kindness, patience and professionalism have not gone unnoticed, and I wanted to take the time to formally acknowledge it.
With my deepest respect and appreciation,
Manuel Hurtado
AI customer service and online message not fit for purpose
In March this year I started a dispute with Halifax.
I received numerous emails from them which did not make sense.
For example, asking me to provide a receipt which proves that the product was not working properly which is impossible as a receipt does not prove a product is not working properly.
They were sending me emails asking me to send information which I had done and then I received the same emails over and over.
This was this was from Lloyds disputes. I can only come to the conclusion I was talking to an AI, a robot.
Just recently I had another experience with a dispute.
They sent me an email last week after I had a conversation with someone over the phone explaining my dispute and the company and they mentioned the name of the company that I was dealing with back in March.
I then reply to say that my dispute is not with this company.
A week later I received the same email and I said my dispute is not with this company so I ended up calling someone just speak to someone on the phone and waited 30 minutes to talk to someone and a further 50 minutes for another department.
Before I tried calling someone I tried to message them on the app and I was speaking to no one by an AI.
It's unbelievable that they could not understand what I was saying. I asked for a phone number and they replied something completely irrelevant.
I spoke to someone called Camila.
I told her that I wanted to raise a complaint as well because this is a second time this year this issue has happened with Lloyds disputes coming up with strange emails to me which did not make sense and they did not understand my responses.
She insisted five times to put me through to Lloyds disputes and I said I was not going to wait another 50 minutes to speak to another department when I did not need to speak to that department. It was the credit card company that I was dealing with. All I wanted was for her to put things right with that department or to put it in motion.
In the end I was offered what I see as a bribe.
I was offered £50 to log the complaint but not to put it forward.
I took the payment because at the time I had spent on the phone and the stress and the frustration of them not understanding my emails considering they are supposed to be normal people and a reputable company.
I think they should get rid of this AI completely and deal with humans as it's taken too much of our time. They should also stop trying to encourage us while speaking to them on the phone to use it online chat knowing it is completely useless without a human behind the messages.
Their online banking is archaic…
Their online banking is archaic compared with banks like Monzo. I’ve been trying to get a statement showing the last 6 months as I’m buying a house (very important to keep things moving of course) and it’s taking days to generate a digital statement. Ridiculous in this day and age. I’m going to have to go in branch which, when they’re closing branches nationally, is mad. The chat is also very slow.
Very frustrating process and would avoid banking with them again.
