I felt misled by ReverseLookup.com’s pricing. What appeared to be a $2 lookup resulted in two separate $1 charges to my card, followed later by a $40 charge for a monthly subscription I hadn’t realised I was signing up for.
In my experience, the wording did not make the ongoing subscription or its cost clear upfront. I contacted my bank and had the $40 charge reversed through my credit card company, but it was a hassle I shouldn’t have had to deal with.
If you’re enrolling customers in a $40-a-month subscription, that needs to be obvious before they pay. This left me with no trust in the business, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

I wanted to check the veracity of a woman who contacted me through a dating site. I found Reverselookup and used a photo of the lady. Reverselookup just use Ai to scan the photo. To check my credentials the site asked for a small payment that would be refunded, but then they had my payment details. The Ai result returned a write-up declaring my mystery admirer was the former Prime Minister of a Lithuania! Clearly rubbish. A few weeks on and 29.99 in euros was taken out of my account. I never knowingly signed up to this site but secretly its a permanent rolling subscription unless you physically cancel within 7 days. Its a hugely nefarious system and the Ai results were utterly useless. AVOID!

I've wanted to search myself up and paid 1€, unbeknownst to me, they charged me 30 after a week and theyre refusing to refund me, its unbelievable and I'll go dispute this charge

I was charged 29.99 EUR for something I believed to be a one-time purchase. Nowhere did it say anything about a subscription and I thought I was paying a one-time fee. I also noticed they split the charge to 2x 0.5 EUR, one being normal and the other repeating. When I reached out to customer service within a few minutes of the charge I was denied a refund.

I am very angry as I only needed one phone number looked up, next minute £30 was taken out my bank very sneakily, I am very angry about this and should have made it more obvious it was a very expensive subscription.

I am very disappointed with my experience.
I signed up for what I believed was a low-cost trial and later found that I had been charged £29.99 for a subscription. As soon as I noticed the charge, I contacted customer support and attempted to cancel the membership within the same hour the payment was taken.
Despite acting immediately and explaining that I had not intended to continue with the subscription, my refund request was refused. What makes this even more frustrating is that I can see multiple responses on Trustpilot where customers in very similar situations appear to have been offered full refunds after contacting support.
The company keeps telling me that every case is reviewed individually, but from what I can see, other customers who were charged after a trial period and then requested a refund received a different outcome.
I appreciate that my subscription was cancelled and won't renew, but I don't feel that my situation has been treated fairly or consistently. Based on my experience, customer service was polite but unwilling to provide any meaningful explanation as to why similar cases appear to have been resolved differently.
Unfortunately, I am left feeling disappointed and out of pocket as a result.
