Note: we host our verified reviews from real customers on https://www.feefo.com/en-GB/reviews/heat-geek Heat Geek is a UK-wide network of independent local heat pump installers, brought together under one shared technical standard. We work with experienced heating engineers across the country and train them through our industry-recognised Heat Geek programme. This focuses on detailed system design, including proper room-by-room heat loss calculations, so heat pumps are sized and set up correctly from the start. Rather than operating as a traditional national installer, we act as an aggregator for our network. Homeowners receive the service of a trusted local engineer, alongside the added reassurance of national oversight. Every installation completed through Heat Geek is reviewed and monitored against our design and performance standards. We verify credentials, assess quality, and maintain ongoing technical support across the network. When installed through Heat Geek, systems are backed by the Heat Geek Guarantee. We don’t simply install heat pumps, we stand behind how they perform. From design consultation through to installation and aftercare, our aim is straightforward: to deliver well-designed heat pump systems that run efficiently and reliably for the long term.

Great heat pump install!

Great heat pump (Vaillant AroTherm Plus - Latest Graphic model) installation via Heat Geek, and undertaken by Dom and the team at City Warmth Hove. All went well and was done in 4 days. Dom was professional, reliable, hardworking, and kept me informed as to what was going on throughout. The quality of the work was very good. Likewise, Heat Geek comms were very good and made the admin, grant, and utility notifications/permission, etc., process trouble-free. Recommended. Heat Geek and City Warmth are the way to go if you want a decent and honest set of folks to get a heat pump installed.

We had an air source heat pump installed - genuinely great experience.

We had an air source heat pump purchased and installed through Heat Geek. We are very pleased with the result. The administration of the whole process was undertaken by Heat Geek and it was very smooth indeed. They did all the admin, especially for the government grant. Their processes are well explained and easy to follow. The survey and installation were undertaken by Dom from City Warmth. The installation process went very smoothly. Dom and Calvin gave us really good information on what to expect, how long the installation process would take and anything we needed to do to prepare (which was minimal). They were very diligent and tidy and kept us constantly updated on their progress during the installation. The time of the final commissioning of the heating unit was pretty near exactly to the hour they advised it would be. Once the heat pump was installed and commissioned Dom carefully explained how to operate it and helped me download the relevant apps. It really is quite easy. This was high quality work delivered with care and attention. Couldn't have asked for more.

Not looking good so far!

Not looking good so far! Paid the £250 for a survey and no one has turned up! Rang the office to be informed that the engineer was charging his van! So coukd he not have given me a quick call to let me know? Considering that others don't charge for this survey, I find this lack of respect quite frustrating. Booked several days ago for 13.00 I'm still waiting for the engineer almost 45 minutes later! Very poor service so far.

City Warmth provides a really splendid level of service

City Warmth provides a really splendid service. Dom, Calvin and Naomi are really conscientious, professional and meticulous. We had an Air Source Heat Pump, Heat Geeks mini cylinder and new radiators to enable us to go carbon free. Throughout the whole project, from planning, installation and commissioning I was kept well informed, had excellent explanations to my myriad questions and was really impressed with the level of care and thoughtfulness from the team. I would not hesitate to recommend them. Thank you.

I booked and paid for a survey in…

I booked and paid for a survey in January. As connected with the local installer who I had to chase to get a survey slot. Accepted the design and paid my deposit £4K+. Radio silence for months until I had Northern Power turn up to check my house fuse. After debating with them about the fuse not being sufficient for my use ended up sending 6 months half hour usage data to heat geek for them to review and check. That was in April and I have still not had a response to it.
In the mean time my BUS grant has been approved with no planned date and yet another automated email saying book in with my installer. I eventually got hold of local installer after 3 weeks of trying to be told they need to come back and redo the survey. That was two weeks ago when I got the automated email saying my design would be ready in ten days. Unsurprisingly here I am having had no communication again from anyone.

I can not more strongly recommend not using this company.

Hi John, Thank you for taking the time to write this and I'm sorry for the experience you've had. This is not the standard we hold ourselves to and I completely understand your frustration.

I'm speaking with the team now to understand exactly where things stand with your project. We'll be back in touch shortly and hopefully we can resolve this.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. They sent Chester from Delta-T out to complete a survey. Chester arrived 1 hour late, spent the whole survey talking to another customer on his phone and then promised to call me after the survey which he never did. Despite having emails to prove otherwise Chester booked the appointment 1 hour later on the HeatGeek system 5 minutes before arriving at the property to make it look like he was on time. I contacted Heat Geek to ask for another contractor to take over, they initially corresponded fine by email but now are not responding to emails. I have asked my bank to launch a chargeback to refund by £250. Looks like Heatpumps are the new double glazing...

Excellent Professional Service

I used Heat Geek as they were the heat pump partner with my energy supplier. I thought the process from beginning to end was very good. The survey and installation was carried out by SBM Energy Solutions who were knowledgeable and professional throughout. I was impressed from the start when Shaun came to do the initial survey. He was very thorough, knowledgeable and clear in explaining how the system was designed and would work. The Installation included changing of most of the existing radiators, replacement hot water cylinder and installation of a Vaillant heat pump. Also decommissioning and removal of an oil fired boiler and oil tank. The installation work was done with the minimum of disruption and the team were helpful, informative and courteous throughout. Product knowledge and explanations were very good. Also I am extremely impressed with performance of the new system which is achieving the target efficiency and heating the house more evenly and effectively than the old oil fired system. The Vaillant heat pump is excellent and very quiet in operation and much better for the environment!

Excellent experience. Check what level Heat Geek certification your installer is.

Shane from Kraken heating and plumbing was assigned to my job in Cambridge and did an excellent job dealing with cramped cupboards, awkward pipe runs and swapping elderly single panel radiators!

Was not a cheap job but done extremely neatly and efficiently in a house that other large install companies would not quite for.

I received a great experience and an installer that was a top level "Heat Geek". It is worth noting there's several different levels of training - Heat Geek might have expanded quickly into installers that become part of the brand with only minimal training.

Professional and enthusiastic

From the initial contact through a survey and the design proposal to the installation and commissioning Heat Geek provided a professional and enthusiastic service.

Option Energy Solutions installed our heat pump (via Heat Geek) at the end of November 2024. The installation included replacing radiators and hot water cylinder and updating the electricity consumer unit. Since then the heat pump has performed really well - so well that we no longer notice it, the house is just consistently warm.

Very poor experience

Very poor experience dealing through a remote middle man and unhelpful local plumber. Paid £250 for a survey which they will not share with me nor refund my money. Avoid and just go to a lo local installer direct

Thanks for your feedback, and we’re sorry you found the experience frustrating. I can see the survey fee was refunded before this review was posted. In this case, the original survey was not accurate for the property, so we offered a more detailed follow-up visit at no extra cost, but you chose to take the refund instead. We hope you continue with your heat pump install with another installer.

The service was excellent from start to…

The service was excellent from start to finish. Heat Geeks, though whom we commissioned the work, started with a comprehensive service so we were sure our house would meet the necessary criteria, such as insulation, for a pump to be fitted. Timescales were adhered to as were costs even though the fitting proved more complex than they thought it would be. The system was tested and has been excellent throughout the winter.

Clean Heat Solutions, who were our fitters via Heat Geeks, were excellent. Our house proved complex to fit, we wanted the new system to work with solar panels and with solar hotwater. Nothing was too much trouble. They explained what they intended to do at every step. They supplied high quality parts and fitted them with high quality components. They had to lift a number of floor boards and link pipes to our current system. All was done carefully and comprehensively. They maintained a safe and clean environment throughout. If we had any issues, they were quick to rectify them. We've been very pleased with the final system. The heat pump is quiet and very efficient. It's a joy to come back to a warm house.

Very pleased with Heet Geak.

Almost a year in and having gone through a very cold winter the house is warm and cosy. SCOP so far averages out at 4.25 which is more than the promised 4.10.

Heat Geek are Which recommended and recommended to us by Octopus after it transpired that Octopus couldn’t install a heat pump bigger than 10Kw. (They do now)

We had three other quotes and despite the fact they were cheaper we decided to go with Heat Geek installer as, during the survey, he was extremely thorough and gave us more confidence with his overall knowledge.

The installation itself went very smoothly as did the handover. The after care service has been exemplary.

Also looked at various social media posts about Air Source Heat Pumps and amazed at the problems people are having from poor installations. Glad we went the Heat Geek way.

Heat Geek gave me confidence

Heat Geek gave me the confidence I needed to install a heat pump. I was struggling to find an installer I could trust, but the safety net provided by Heat Geek was what I needed to go ahead and it has all worked out brilliantly. I'm located in Hampshire and my Heat Geek is Adrian, who is brilliant. I'm so glad I found him through Heat Geek. Adrian was reliable, easily contactable and patient with all my questions. He managed to fit in with all my deadlines and even answered my early morning "help!" Whatsapp when there was no hot water (which turned out to be the fault of the electricians and not him). Adrian also got on well with other contractors on site. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Heat Geek heat pump install - all good!

We had out Heat Geek heat pump install almost a year ago. It happened very smoothly over 3 days, and has been completely trouble free ever since. The house is warmer than ever, and we are saving energy and costs. Although there is an upfront cost, the heat loss survey is incredibly important in designing the right system for your house, so well worth it.

Heat Geek

Had a heat geek install - honestly couldn’t be happier with the choice I made. Survey was initially carried out and options explained. This allowed me to taylor my system to the temperatures I wanted it to be with everything explained as to the why. The Heat Geek guarantee was the finally part that really clinched it for me.

So many stories of disasters with poorly designed systems and installs.

It’s been running for its second winter now - I have never been warmer at home. With batteries and solar already at the house I am saving two thirds on my electric bill. ( octopus EV Tariff) plus no gas now so one less standing charge.

Watch the YouTube videos and take confidence that these guys lbs what they are talking about.

Great quality install

Installers were knowledgeable and considerate, cleaned up after themselves and put back carpets nicely. My house is a 1930s ex council which needs lots of ventilation. The heat pump was installed nearly two years ago, and with it I have kept the house much warmer than before. With the heat pump you keep it on all day so the house has been warm all day. Despite that my bills went down slightly. Heat geeks seem to know what they are doing with heat pumps!

Excellent. Highly recommended.

The service from Heat Geek was thorough and helpful throughout. I would definitely recommend Heat Geek.

Excellent from start to finish. Dan was so knowledgeable and very easy to deal with. We are extremely happy with the heat pump and system he installed. UPdate: more than 12 months on and we’re still thrilled. Very low bills and constantly warm house!

Great service

Easy to find an Elite installer and easy to book up a survey and get everything rolling. Also easy to get the grant, with Heat Geek taking care of all the admin. Very happy customer here.
Installer was great too, with the system performing with a SCOP of 4.1 and in a new(ish) build with the dreaded microbore upstairs. House has never been warmer plus it is also more efficient (as in, cheaper to run) than our old gas boiler
