Classic click-pay bait
Classic click-pay bait. You enter your VIN, they run a free scan and come back with a alarming list of issues and entries — just enough to make you worry. The moment you pay, the report tells a completely different story: most fields are empty, no accidents, no odometer data, nothing useful. All you get is the make of the car. Save your money and avoid them entirely."
A few alternative tones if you want something different:
🔴 More aggressive: "Pure bait-and-switch. Free scan = red flags everywhere. Pay up = empty report. The only thing they'll confirm is the brand of your car. Worthless."
🟡 More neutral/review-style: "Misleading service. The free preview shows multiple issues to create urgency, but the paid report delivers almost nothing — no accident history, no odometer records, just basic make information. Not worth it."
A very positive experience!
A very positive experience - a very fair attitude. Due to the wrong VIN and my carelessness, I received the wrong report. After presenting the embarrassment to the AutoDNA contact service, I was promised a refund for the cost of the erroneous repayment enquiry. And they kept their promise!!!

GREAT EXPERIENCE
GREAT EXPERIENCE, i put there wrong vin by mistake, it still find the vin, but after explaining i put wrong vin and purchased second report with correct vin, they refunded the wrong vin anyway. Truly amazing.
A waste of money
A waste of money – you can find out more on e-CSDD anyway. They promise 24 reporting points, but even the current mileage doesn't show up, only some "predicted" (and inaccurate) figure. I paid €39.99 for two empty reports – a complete waste of money. No refunds, and they don't respond to complaints. A service provider should offer a quality service, and if they don't, there should be an option to opt out! Here, there’s no such option – once you've paid, you’ve basically agreed to buy an empty "report" that only shows the car brand.
Why is it necessary to give a star??
Why is it necessary to give a star??
This is pure scam.
The first free report said that there were many entries. I don't know how many anymore, but it was a lot.
So I paid.
After payment, I got a report with ONE entry from 10 years ago!
And of course, they don't want to refund me.
Disgusting scammers!
received the refund
Paid for report 24,99 Eur. The was practically no information about car history in it only info that car not stolen, that is was obvious for me in advance. Ask for refund and they agree to refund it.
Report is very poor
Report is very poor, it's basically useless. They don't even provide mileage for the car. On Car Vertical they issue a credit for the new VIN search in case they can't deliver good result for your initial search.
Total scammers
Total scammers, they will not issue refund, no reply from customer service and they gave me totally useless and generic report . Caution!!!!!
If a seller posts add on the web with VIN Number visible, they scan through adds and take data and pictures from the poated adds and they sell it to you in a report. But you have these data from the add, not from insurance records, government data of the vehicle registration, official service network.
They sold me report which only contained data from the seller add . no other data what so ever. Pictures taken from the add, and they say in preview report that they have pictures of the vehicle archived, but there are the same from the add which you already saw
Do not buy a report from these guys!
Never purchase a report from these guys, I paid EUR25 for absolutely no valuable information about the car whatsoever. Filled a compliant about it and they denied it. This is a misleading website!
I researched both cars
I researched both - the Audi and the BMW I was interested in. For the Audi, I received a lot of information, including the car's registration, accident history and else. Unfortunately, the second car I researched had no history. That's why I'm giving it a 3.
Didn't receive a report
I assumed a report would be emailed to me after they charged my credit card. I did not receive a report or a confirmation number. My credit card was charged.
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless, does not provide any valuable information about the car.
Complete scam
Complete scam. For the vehicle I asked about they had the model and production date right, and that's all. They even for diesel vs petrol wrong. Contacted, they said they corrected their mistake but rejected a refund.
Stay away from this fraud!
I strongly advise others to stay away from this service. In my experience, it was a complete waste of money. The so-called VIN “report” I received was practically useless - it relied on assumptions and crude mileage estimates rather than actual verified data. In my case, the estimate was off by nearly 60,000 km. The car has close to 100,000 km, yet their “report” listed just 30,000.
Everything else included in the report could be found for free elsewhere, and the supposed “stolen database checks” seem just as unreliable as their mileage data. It didn’t even show the vehicle’s production country.
I requested a refund, but they refused — despite the report being completely inaccurate and of no practical use. To me, this feels deeply misleading and unprofessional.
Overall, this service has been a complete disappointment - an absolute joke.
The autoDNA website is deceiving…
The autoDNA website is deceiving people. They promise a full car report for €25, but in the end, you get the name and make of a car that is already known! After contacting customer support, I was denied (supposedly, all the information was provided to me in full). They also sent me a response to my request stating that the car mileage indicated in your report is indicated for a 2019 car as 12,000 km (which is complete nonsense). They also wrote that there should be an accident report, which is also missing (although I know of at least one registered accident). They also write that it should indicate the new owner's re-registration, which is also missing from your report (since the car belonged to the second owner for five years)! Therefore, based on the above information, I told them that their report does not contain any information about the car, and I consider their actions fraudulent, because this report is not worth even one euro! Do not buy their services, it's a scam!
Good ✅
I am very satisfied with the way my complaint was handled.
The response was professional, clear, and customer-oriented.
Although my request concerned an older car, I appreciate the effort and the refund process. I will definitely recommend autoDNA to others.
Avoid, misleading.
Be very cautious when you place an order. Available data could mean a single odometer reading from 15 years ago counts as "vehicle history". Basically any tiny bit of information available will count as a tick box for the "what's available" data, this is misleading and after sales will send you a terrible scripted reply without even looking into your case. They must get it a lot. Avoid at all costs.
SCAM...
SCAM.... report shows minimal information (in my case only if car was stolen). Some informations where wrong (engine...). I did request monney back and carDNA representative refuse monney return as i did get what i was paying.
You pay for less data than a free service gives you
This is a total scam, the report by VIN number, which costs 24EUR shows LESS information than a free website from my country by a license plate.
