Kia ... Not!

I am sharing my recent experience with Hummingbird Motors to raise awareness about vehicle safety and consumer rights.
I purchased a used 2019 Kia Sportage from them in January. By May, it suffered a serious engine failure. Following their repair, a severe safety issue emerged: the vehicle actively pulls the steering wheel sharply left and right and the brakes engage independently without driver input.
The dealership eventually agreed to look at the car, leaving me with a hire vehicle. They held my vehicle for 5 weeks, failed to produce a diagnostic report, and has now rejected my legal right to a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015—dismissing independent braking as "normal behaviour."
From Monday, I will be stranded without a safe vehicle to drive. I expect a higher standard of safety and consumer care from a major brand franchise. Be very careful about the brand you buy! @KiaUK

The Post Child For Delivery Companies

I was shocked to see so many negative reviews for Relay.. I found the company to be exceptional. I was kept informed on the progress of my order and there is a step by step guide on their website I feel so many other delivery companies could learn a lot from Relay. Excellent.

Unresolved Severe Safety Defects (independent braking/steering) - No Communication From Management purchased a 2019 Kia Sportage via…

I purchased a 2019 Kia Sportage via bank transfer from Kia Colindale (Alan Day Motor Group) on 10th January 2026. By May, the car developed a severe engine problem. It has now developed catastrophic safety faults: the brakes operate independently and the steering wheel violently veers left and right, making the vehicle a great safety risk and unroadworthy.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if a fault is discovered after the first 30 days of purchase but within the first six months, the dealer is entitled to exactly one opportunity to repair or replace the vehicle.
I sent a formal written rejection of the vehicle to the dealership and requested a full refund alongside an interim complimentary hire car. Despite the severity of these life-threatening safety defects, I have faced a total breakdown in communication. I called the Alan Day dealership and was promised a callback from the Managing Director which never happened. I was then told to write to Head of Sales, at Colindale Kia, which I did. I followed this up with a phone call and was promised a callback the next day. Once again, I was ignored.
In my opinion, because of these life-threatening faults and the dealership’s total disregard for customer safety, I strongly advise drivers to avoid purchasing a used vehicle from this group.
Leaving a customer with a dangerous vehicle and providing zero courtesy support or communication is unacceptable. The dealership has been given a formal deadline of 28th July 2026 to respond to my final rejection letter. If a full refund is not processed, I will immediately escalate this to the Motor Ombudsman, Trading Standards, and initiate Small Claims Court proceedings.

Review of Evri

Evri's Not For Everyone, Especially Me

For some strange reason, Evri refuses to alert customers that a parcel is being delivered. This week, a parcel was left by my front door. The courier rang the bell. By the time I got to the door, the courier had already gone! There was no email, no phone call, nothing to alert me that I was to receive the delivery. If I hadn't been in, it could have been another parcel stolen by anyone passing. Evri has the contact details of customers. What's the harm in calling to say that you are on your way? A common courtesy. What's the harm in sending an email to notify of a delivery, time, day? It makes Evri in my mind, extremely unprofessional and untrustworthy. It's all about parcel delivery, no regard for that being a safe delivery so that the customer is happy. It appears to be quantity of deliveries, well over quality of service. If it were up to me, I wouldn't use the company. For some reason, they are Shein's choice.

EVRi Must Do Better

You must notify the customer when you are going to deliver. This time, the parcel was able to fit through the letter box. Last time, a larger package which wouldn't fit through the letter box, was left on my doorstep. It was stolen. A simple call or email could have averted this.

I wrote a truthful review about Shein on June 16th. An order I had placed had not been received. The delivery company, EVRI, left the parcel on my doorstep without notifying me that they had done so, or indeed, that they even had the package.
Shein responded on the Trustpilot platform, then Viviana from the company contacted me by email on 18th June, asking that I withdraw my complaint which she wrote is causing a refund that they wanted to sanction, being blocked by PayPal. I contacted PayPal and money being held had been released to Shein the week prior. I was assured that I would receive a refund "immediately". Three weeks later, I am still waiting and Viviana is not responding to my emails. How disgraceful! Shein has definitely lost its shine. Their response and promise of a refund was just for show.

Regarding the above order, you sent these items to be delivered via EVRI. Not once did EVRI contact me to inform that they had received the items or were delivering them. I was not given an opportunity to ask that the items be left elsewhere, instead EVRI left the parcel on my door step in broad daylight, from where it was stolen. You have refused to refund me despite EVRI's bad practice. This is therefore your bad practice.

EVRI - The Worst Delivery Service In The World

Shein sent items I bought to be delivered in the UK by EVRI, Parcel ID: H023FA1321733725, EVRI
never sent me a email to inform that they had received the items, never alerted me to what day the items were being delivered, never gave me an option to have the items delivered elsewhere, never sent confirmation that the package had been delivered. On filing a claim for a refund for non-receipt of the goods, EVRI then produced an image showing that their courier had left the package by my front door, as though we are living in some fairy tale land where crime is not committed and the items would be totally safe. I have been charged for items I ordered and did not receive.

PayPal then allowed Shein to get away with keeping my money, after such an appalling service from EVRI. I would not opt to use EVRI. Absolutely rubbish!

I have been using PayPal for many years, feeling confident that the company backed buyers and if there were any issues, I trusted they would resolve them fairly. Practically daily, I did allow transactions to be handled by PayPal.

Review of Condor

Condor - 1 out of 10

What a shame that I didn't check on Trust Pilot before booking my recent trip to Bangkok on Condor. We transferred at Frankfurt on the way. All travellers were offered upgrades, €99 for Premium Economy, €650 to Business. I opted for the latter. After 14 hours of flying and eating the last meal served, I felt terribly nauseous and vomited. To add further insult to injury, when I checked my bank statement, Condor had taken €699, not the agreed €650! Isn't that theft? Bringing the overcharge to Condor's attention over two weeks ago, there has still been no resolution. I asked for a complimentary upgrade on my return journey. What I received was my number seemingly blocked by Costumer Services as I waited for their response. I paid €150 to upgrade to their so-called, Premium Economy seat on the return flight, which is essentially in my view, the same as Economy but with a higher price tag. On that return journey, Condor air staff made a passenger cry, trying to force her to give up a seat she had paid for to enable a couple to sit together. Arriving back at Gatwick, my suitcase handle wouldn't extend. Damaged. It worked perfectly well on leaving the UK. Condor have a lot to learn. I am not questioning their safety standards, I am questioning their integrity, hospitality and professionalism. 1 out of 10.

Review of Asda

Giving ASDA A Pass For Racial Profiling

On 17.01.26, I purchased groceries from ASDA. Receipt in hand, I stopped to buy a Lottery ticket. Placing my groceries down, I gave the sales assistant my completed Lottery slip. She asked whether I had paid for my goods. I said yes. She further questioned, 'Are you sure?" I was taken aback and asked why she would question me after I had answered? She said that she has to make sure and asked yet again! If I am not going to be believed the first time, what is the point of the second and third questions? This is being done in front of a line of customers causing me great embarrassment. She then called for a male colleague. I let her know that I found her follow up questions insulting as she was intimating that I had stolen the goods. I gave her my goods receipt. Looking at it, she then threw it back at me! Her work colleague was now close by. I asked him whether he had seen her throw the receipt. He said he hadn't. He told me that I could make a complaint since I was unhappy with the way that I had been questioned and treated. He called for a manager who took over 15 minutes to attend. After explaining the issue, I felt further insulted when the manager told me, 'there is nothing overtly offensive or wrong' with what the sales assistant did. I was so offended, that I returned the items I'd bought, although I was refused a refund for the Lottery tickets.
I am Black. I believe the suspicion of theft was racially motivated. I don't wear a hoodie, dress in anything but in a smart way and I speak perfect English. There is no other reason. As soon as I got in my car, I made a phone call to ASDA Customer Services. When I arrived home, I sent an email to ASDA Customer Support which was answered the following day by Clare in ASDA Customer Relations. Clare initially apologised, then a week later, put in writing that CCTV footage had been viewed and it was in fact me who assaulted ASDA staff, not the other way around! I immediately refuted this and put in for a Subject Access Request for the CCTV footage. This should have taken no longer than 30 days. Two months later, I still hadn't received anything. Chasing it, I gave ASDA 7 days to deliver. I received a message from ASDA yesterday informing that either the footage had not been captured by their cameras or that the footage no longer existed! This is absolutely outrageous! As well as complaining to the Information Commissioner's Office, I will be exploring a legal redress. If you are Black and shop in ASDA, beware!

Review of Barclaycard

Barclays Business Credit Card - Nil Point!

I have held a Barclays Business Credit card for about 10 years. I have never paid interest on my spend as I always clear the balance before the due date. Before Trisha Goddard and Vanessa Feltz, I was the first woman of any nationality in the UK, to host an eponymous TV talk show. I funded my own pilots. The Chrystal Rose Show was commissioned by Carlton TV and ran for 4 series, 103 shows. Lately, after a few years of non-activity as I was a full time carer for my wonderful Mum who had dementia among other ailments and sadly passed in 2024, I went back to work. I wrote, produced and directed 2 films, a short, 'Too Young For Love', selected for 31 film festivals worldwide, winning in 11 and its feature sequel, 'Reparations', which is still in its festival run, but has already been selected for 36 film festivals and won in 12. It's mighty difficult to get funding for films and essentially, both films were mainly self-funded. Amazingly, even though I had used my Business Barclaycard to its £8,500 limit and repaid in full, Barclays cut my credit down to £1,700!!! I explained, although it fell on deaf ears, that it was crucial that I have this level of credit and to pull it was to put my film project in jeopardy. I had cast and crew to feed, locations to cover. They didn't care one iota. Using other credits cards, a GoFundMe and a cast contribution, I was able to complete. For a year, Barclays kept my credit level at £1,700. I continued to clear my expenditure each month, no interest incurred. I asked for a higher credit level and was refused. I applied for another credit card and got a higher level than Barclays, the company I have been with for 10 years. Yesterday, I left Barclays Business Credit card and will be closing my current account soon, too. Barclays clearly do not want business from someone like me. I am black and female.

STEER CLEAR OF IONOS!

I have several websites hosted by various companies. Out of them, ONLY IONOS kept sending me email messages that my website was being attacked with malware. The remedy was for them to charge an amount of money to fix the issue. Instead, I cancelled my contract and moved to a different host. Even though my domain is now registered on WHOIS as being with the new provider, IONOS continually send me messages about an attack on my website and fixing the issue. One email offered having a meeting with one of their advisors on how I could recover the domain I had moved to a new company. I want nothing to do with IONOS. They are acting like an extremely unscrupulous entity. I have asked at least 10 times for them to cancel my hosting contract. They have now put a block on my email somehow so that I am unable to access the domain. At least 8 different IONOS Support Agents have contacted me by email, trying to get me to stay. Who would want to be part of this atrocious outfit after all this?! It's a shame as I have praised the IONOS telephone assistants previously. I have contacted their Customer Service, Complaints Department, Press Office. I have asked IONOS several times for the company who regulates them. I have tried to Google the answer and it appears that they are a law unto themselves. If anyone knows differently, please let me know. IONOS get less than 1 out of 10 from me. I would NOT recommend this company.

EUROSTAR. Even in Death, NO REFUND!

I purchased tickets for a group of Americans aged 62 - 78 to take a Eurostar trip from Kings Cross St Pancras to Gare du Nord, Paris on Friday 29th August 2025. I initially bought 45 tickets, 12 @ £117 each, 32 @ £123 each, 3 @ £148 each, ref. #10071328. Two more Americans wanted to take the trip, but not return on the same day with the others, making it a romantic two day getaway. They returned on Sunday 31st August, 2025. I purchased these additional two tickets @£528. Ref. #QJP46D/#WXNJWF. That means that I had paid Eurostar £6,312. The day before the trip, I was informed that one of the group had deceased. Can you believe that in informing Eurostar they refused to refund one ticket as it hadn't been cancelled within a week of travel?! How nonsensical and ridiculous is that?! What a despicable, unethical, immoral, gravalicious entity Eurostar decision makers are I allege. Over the past few years the company's profits have exceeded £2 billion. They have recovered from any loses as a result of the pandemic, yet Eurostar didn't offer condolences, they were only interested in clawing profits from the dead, lacking compassion and decency. Shame on you!!!

I received a response from Eurostar. They kindly offered their condolences... then offered a worthless credit option which expires in 12 months, knowing full well it will not be able to be used. I am nearly 63. I have travelled on Eurostar only once in my life. The group I bought tickets for are resident in the States. They will not be returning to the UK within a year. Offering a voucher knowing that it will not be able to be used, it tantamount to not offering a voucher at all. Eurostar continue to be an insensitive company whose only interests are about their profit margin. No real regard for their passengers/customers. I spent many thousands with this company. Extremely disappointed.

Go To Go2 For Coach Hire

If you have a group who you need to ensure must be at a certain place, at a certain time, look no further than Go2 Coach Hire. There was constant communication, gaining total understanding of my needs. This company works with you, actively listens, from which I built a trust, knowing that I could relax and deal with my group's needs, not fretting whether our transport would be where agreed in my itinerary.
Trustworthy with super friendly and efficient drivers. 10 out of 10 for Go2 Coach Hire and I am not usually easily impressed. Well done!
