Worst retail experience Ive ever had

Found this store on a google search and went to make a purchase. The entire experience was less than 90 seconds.
My son was with me who is 19 in a week or so he was carded entering the store. As the shop is located in a gas station convince store he respectfully questioned the clerk. In BC the two types of store are no entry under 19 or if its in a gas station convince store no purchasing under 19.

The Clerk got seriously aggressive and confrontational following my son out of the store to continue his verbal assault. threatening to call the police. On a young man who had only been respectful not raised his voice and who had followed the direction to leave the store.

The Clerk escalated the interaction so quickly it left me standing there dumbfounded. I had still planned on making my purchase and leaving right up until this point following him out of the shop and threatening to waste police's time to sort out a non event. at that point I left the store, it was so beyond normal and acceptable behavior Id rather set my crr0tch on fire and put it out with a hammer than spend my money supporting a man like that.

90 seconds from entering to being in the car leaving we never made it 3 feet into the shop which in hindsight was a good thing seeing the walls adorned with erect penises and other non normal retail furnishings.
I get the laws I get the punishments and fines I get all that but there was ZERO need to act like such a tyrant. It was straight out of the twilight zone.

Especially towards people who had been respectful and compliant. While trying to get some clarification on the interpretation of the regulations.

Decades working in retail in shops very similar Ive never witnessed such a display in my entire life. Thats not how you would expect to be treated in Canada by anyone.

Ad says $100 true price is $656 lol

I have seen adds for Temu online a lot lately and thought it was one of "those" websites so I avoided it. oneday an item I thought would be a good gift for my son for christmas played on YouTube. I followed the link where the quoted price jumped UP a stunning $563. So it was one of "those" sites with extreme price jumps or $500 shipping charges for a pencil

Shipping rip-off

While shopping for a item on Alibaba.com I happened across larissamotor.com. I filled out the requested information got to the point where you click purchase and to my disbelief, the shipping $1600 on a $266 item. If I had not checked Id have gotten stung for one of those "great deal" shipping gouging scams.
So ya be careful if ordering from these guys

Avoid unless you like wasting time and money

I would not trust this site every time I try to order I go through a bunch of rigmarole to find the right item with the right options it pushes a bunch of options and prices. then each time you try to add it to your cart poof that items no longer available. But here is one with half the options or features at 3 times the price ohh and do you want the add on warranty for half the cost of the item?
Every time I order I feel like Im getting scammed its not a pleasant shopping experience.
Ohh and thats just the preorder not mentioning actually getting something you want or ordered

Not worth the hassle

Review of Spotify

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I loved spotify but its just to expencive now

I loved spotify but in Canada they keep raising the price per month and they have not justified it with any new better services that I care about. This last one it the straw that broke the camel's back.
After seeing Amazon's price for the family and the service that copies your playlists over from one service to another. I am sadly migrating over.
Between the price increases every few months and the billing system that takes payments out while you still have 15 days left on your package to trying the payment over and over incurring non stop NSF fees their $16 a month plan ends up being $250 a month quick. All over some unforeseen snafu. which happens but the early payment withdrawal can leave you completely blindsided.

I already have Prime anyway and like the amazon billing system so it makes sense to consolidate and drop my monthly expense $10 a month at the same time

Abysmal Invasive Data Miner

For people just seeking to purchase the occasional lottery ticket from home or without going into a physical location, this "service" is abysmal. Even their replies here they use a form response word for word nothing like the personal service for your negative experience

Not only do they need to verify every aspect of your life Drivers liscense, phone, power, medical invoice, address, city born, grew up. They also inform you to use this service you agree to your private information to be stored and used outside Canada.

All this (and more) so you can do from home what you can do anonymously at any lotto 649 outlet in the province without so much as a name and using cash.

If you make a mistake or are flagged for further information you are locked up for years regardless of if you move have new bank accounts despite you never actually successfully creating an account.

You must call in you must provide information that can be used by Equifax Canada. Ya all so you can buy a $3 Lotto 649 ticket online using your bank card.

I tried it then lost interest went and got a ticket from a shop a couple years later it struck me again to try with the same result twice more before I actually took the time to call sit on hold confirm all the information listen to the spiel about using and storing your data outside Canada and needing to be confirmed like Equifax. Sitting on hold again through "longer than expected wait times" (that happened every time I tried)
Thinking this would solve the issue I was shocked when I was required to provide MORE digital copies of my ID ++++ I mentioned to the guy at the time its not this hard to open a bank account or get a cell phone plan its actually up there with becoming a firearm owner in Canada.
It is really not worth the time and effort if you gamble you probably have other websites that are FAR less invasive and time consuming to open the account

Review of EQ Bank

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Excessive service charges sure to follow

I liked them at first but as the saying goes you see peoples true self not in the good times but the bad. EQ was ok at first and for the cost you can over look the weirdness like how the cards work and transfers etc I did like the text e-transfer.

But then my online card went to the Negative the first I heard was a message on my phone from a number I did not know saying I was in the negative
I looked and saw it was true then it got messed up it would not let me see why at all despite the message telling me it was "probably an unauthorized charge" it would not let me see the reason or who made the charge
It would not even let me clear it up I had to call in and have them unlock my card so I could transfer money from my bank account to my debit card which MUST be two different accounts.
After that if you would be thinking you could see where the charge came from you would be WRONG
still no way to see why it was over drawn but they did unlock the card so it could happen again if the debtor so desired

By the way all this rigmarole for $3 cost ten times that to make the call and pay the rep's x 2 to clear it up instead of a text alert and let me clear it up myself online.

This makes me really want to cancel the account and go with KoHo I mean if they do this on the free account you KNOW a business like that will hemorrhage money and they WILL need to hit people with mad service charges to cover their business practices in the future. multiple reps plus the tech to lock the card over $3 locking you out of fixing it yourself and not allowing you to see the reason behind the charge and reason.

Going to cancel the account in short order koho does not do this to you. They let you lock unlock the cards and see the transactions even on free accounts

You cannot trust the information

Nurselabs looks great when you land on it but its so full of ads and links to products you cannot really find any useful information. right off the bat they target seniors with a yahoo advertisement on the right hand side.

Which if you think about it will be a large portion of people trying to understand lab results and to my mind a little on the disgusting side.

To be honest I would skip them all together theres no way to trust anything on the site because you do not know if its an ad a product they are shilling or self-serving propaganda.

ESPECIALLY regarding your health. Avoid avoid avoid

Canadian BDX does not want your business

Canadian BDX on paper is great but trying to get their products is difficult. while they have a website and advertise products in the fine print they tell you they put stores and existing customers first all but shutting out any new customers.
Essentially saying you are not important enough to purchase from us. Trying to find their products in existing stores is a a let down they nearly never have stock.

You have to really look at their website as it seems as easy as filling out a online form and getting a quote but when you scratch the surface thats not how it works. Thats for retailers who rarely have stock.

You want to shop local and support Canadian businesses but this business at least really does not make it easy. So save the hassle and stick with trusted brands that want your business and hard earned money.

Price increased $100 a day

Cabelas used to be great but now its horrible. They do not warranty items like shotguns when they arrive clearly defective they give you some obscure phone number for a company in Germany and call it a day. no one replies from that business either.

The prices are disgusting recently while putting a list together of items to buy 2 products on the list went up $100 a day. And not advertised sale items just regular stock items. I had vowed not to order through them again after the shotgun but the price drew me in. but that kind of gouging is disgusting

Prices are great

Prices are great, products are some of the most sought after. But unless you live down the street you are SOL. In business since 1949, and never mastered the art of shipping. Instore only. The website does not state this until you are ready to add it to a cart. This leaves you wondering why do you have a website with products at all

Review of Arenti

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Good products, but a little pushy and a little greedy

I really like the Arenti cameras they are as far as personal home security cameras go easy to use setup and work well.

the only downside is they are pushing people to use their cloud storage but fail to grasp why people might not want their private space 24/7 video feed stored on a server anywhere let alone China.

They are not Netcloud bad but not Reolink good either I bought one on sale and after that bought many more and some for family as well. but now it really feels like its heading towards a mandatory paywall.

Call me old fashioned but I dislike paying a fee to use a product I bought with an SD card I bought using my WIFI and electricity in my home simply to get a service I do not want in any way shape or form.

for reference the current sales pitch for subscribing to cloud storage they are offering a free 6 SECONDS of video storage for signing up. so ya theres that..

As long as they keep the normal you buy it you own it no subscription system in power I will stick with them.

If not for the pushiness of the cloud storage I would give them 5 stars I do like their cameras and app

Terrible service terrible support…

Terrible service terrible support terrible website

Avoid these products at all costs they out of nowhere discontinue models without notice so you have a scanner it works on the cars trucks you bought it for but they will not let you update or even reinstall your software the FAQ includes links to websites they have shut down every area is separate and if you are on the wrong site nothing works.
the registration for your scanner online will reset not recognize the scanner and will not let you add it. This means you have ZERO way to file a support ticket because it requires fields that you cannot enter information into along with un relevant information like car make model engine +++ essentially foxwell made it so theres no possible way to contact them.

If you bought a higher end product or something like the NT630 elite you are SOL

DO NOT PURCHASE Foxwell products why support a business that will not support you

I used to love Public mobile but they have changed a lot they stopped giving you a discount for the people you bring to the company my bill jumped over $10 a month over night. they also did away with the plans there used to be a bunch now theres 4 and all for new activations once you join you no longer have an option other than the one you came in with.

it was handy if you were a cash fluid person you could get a cheaper plan for a month if needed now its no logger possible you pay or go without.

Keep that in mind when picking your plan if you sometimes have lean months.

the removal of the rewards to their new useless system also tells you where they are going as a business once you get people on them you are no longer important and will take away the benefits and plans.

All this makes it a lot harder to overlook their service and issues when you got a break you could over look spotty coverage and dead zones horrible wait times for texts and verifications 10+ minutes at times and the horrible train wreck of an app portal

All these things make it less likely I will tell people about them other than how they treat loyal clients and the tricks they use to get them. the only thing they did keep was the $10 bonus for new customers but after you are they treat you like poop and you cannot even contact customer service as they want you to take care of that for them too. probably why they don't use the parent company's name TELUS as their rep is the same

Amazon Prime Video RIP OFF new no ad paywall

To help canadians Amazon has put ad free content behind a paywall. So on top of the membership firestick fire tv, channels you need to pay so its not just like CABLE TV.
I used to like Prime well at least as an alternative to other platforms. I overlooked a lot of the low grade content. I solved it with the channels. I liked how it was attached to your prime membership and had no ads. It never once crossed my mind Amazon would move to extort its members with Pay to go ad free.
Are you kidding me they just raised the prime membership in Canada they killed amazon music putting anything worth listening to behind a paywall, they stopped 2 day delivery in many parts of canada. all these things they have taken while increasing pricing Disgusting display of greed.
save your loyalty to a brand and get a walmart and disney plus membership. Prices are often cheaper anyway. Amazon are greedy ingrates, the government is taking all your money through taxes so amazon decides hey lets rip them off too. blinking extortion

Xbox went back to ripping its customers off

under new management? Xbox has decided to return to the days when you could not use your xbox to watch netflix etc on your internet your netflix your xbox WITHOUT Gold.
I cannot believe Im writing this review. Ive been an xbox person since day one and still have, each console a couple I have 2.

I always tell people how much better Xbox was over sony how sony gouges their customers. for games content etc.
Was going to purchase my son an Xbox series X for christmas when I went to check the game pass to go with it and found they have gone and jacked up the price the almost $20 a month the budget version which is essentially a tag on your account that says you bought something it has less "perks" than xbox gold and costs more.
feeling kinda betrayed.
I was looking forward to buying the series S for my son and the series X for myself.
but theres no way I will do $20 a month. I have to keep mine as all the purchased content is on them movies seasons of shows but not adding to it.
They have joined the other businesses who figured out they can charge a subscription and nail everyone for 4x plus, what it used to cost. june Elon n tell M.S. ________

Be very cautious

This website has a lot of information on it. I first started using it for information on Canadian politicians net worth. it did not take long to see that they use some sort of premade template and almost all of the information wording, amounts, salary information is identical.
You can look at two different people indifferent departments, parties, provinces. You see the same sums cars houses trips bonuses etc. like $162,574 to $475,483 for instance.

It leads you to believe its not at all accurate so do your due diligence if using this information in any meaningful way.

I ended up on this site after a chat GPT search. I was one of several in a list.
it showed some pictures then offered you to try it I did as instructed pressed the action button expecting to see what it can do. See if I liked the results how difficult it was what would be needed to get the results Im after.
I was kind of shocked to get a screen telling me I needed to buy credits to see a result.

I promptly left the site and made a mental note, never again. I mean that's kind of weak try it but to try you need to buy first. its like no need to see results trust us.
