Constant delays, empty promises from Customer Support

On the 24th May 2023, I ordered my road bike - SL R Disc, and was given a estimated dispatch date of 11th July.

The original estimated dispatch date has passed, and the date has changed several times since, firstly to 07/08/2023 and then to 18/08/2023.

Naturally, I have already spoken to Customer Support on each occasion, and each time I have been promised that the missing parts are due to be delivered "next week" and they are confident my bike will be dispatched before the estimated date - this has yet to be true. The constant inability to provide a delivery date for a £5000 bike is incredibly frustrating, and changing the delivery date a week before is a terrible customer experience - especially when it happens multiple times.

I am now left with the decision of "do I continue to wait, just for the bike to be sat inside - because winter is just round the corner" or "cancel and order again next year, joining the lottery again".

Tomorrow never comes... and neither will your parcel...

Over the last few months, none of my DPD deliveries has arrived on time - regardless of paying extra for next-day or Saturday deliveries.

I've had several multi-box shipments split up in the depot and the individual boxes arriving throughout the week - with no way to find out what's happening as they're all under the same consignment number.

This week, I had a delivery that was supposed to arrive Friday, then Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and now tomorrow. Will it arrive? I have no idea, but I look forward to DPDs daily emails...

"We're sorry, your parcel has been delayed due to an unexpected issue"

"There is currently a 1 day delay in your area due to an unexpected issue*"

It's got to the point now where I see something is being shipped via DPD and I just won't bother ordering.

Using the SmartDrop is incredibly…

Using the SmartDrop is incredibly frustrating. The first step, scanning the IMEI takes so long that the screen on the device turns off.

After a few attempts the SmartDrop reset... Then I managed to get through to the checks; 3/4 passed a few times, and it failed again. Eventually, after repositioning the device, it was accepted.

I did try calling the "help" number shown on the SmartDrop, but after being on hold for 10 minutes, the call cut out as there wasn't anybody available to take my call.

After all of this, I received multiple emails in quick succession. One saying I had to post my device as it couldn't be accepted at a SmartDrop (this was after the SmartDrop had taken my device), the one saying my payment would be with me in 20 minutes, then another saying my payment had bounced as "their bank" thinks my details are incorrect.

Nearly 24 hours later, I still don't have my payment.

48 hours later - still no payment. Being told it'll be the next "working day".

Probably the best ISP in the UK!

Andrews & Arnold have supplied my broadband for over 2 years now, and the connection has always been rock solid!

Whenever you do experience problems, there are various ways to get in touch with the team - IRC, Phone, Email etc. All of which put you in touch with the most knowledgeable support staff I have ever dealt with. I have only reported one issue (when a third-party contractor of Openreach stole my copper pair), and the entire phone call only lasted a few minutes! With the issue being resolved the next day...

I would not hesitate to recommend, yes they cost a bit more, but it sure is worth it!

"Delivered to a Safe Place"

For the last few weeks in Scarborough, we've been having issues with Hermes. They have been delivering parcels to the wrong addresses - backed up with the photographic proof of delivery to the wrong address.

For those deliveries that have successfully been delivered, they have often been left on the doorsteps in plain view while people have been out. This has resulted in several thefts with the recipient not having any comeback.

Yesterday, I was in all day and had a delivery from Hermes. I only realised when I nearly tripped over it when leaving my house - there was no knock at the door or anything. It was just left there in plain sight of everyone walking past - and in the rain!

Lied on tracking, delivered 6 hours later...

I have been signed up to a food delivery service for a few weeks and have experienced varying levels of service from Yodel. Including the parcels being delivered to the wrong address... But my latest experience has caused me to cancel the plan with the third-party and look elsewhere.

On the morning I was expecting my parcel, I received my 2 hour time slot, 17:53-19:53... Great I thought, an evening slot, keeping my day free. 18:38, I received a notification saying my parcel had been delivered. I went to check, no sign of the parcels and no sign of a calling card. The message “Unable to sign, COVID 19” was displayed on the tracking information. I checked my ring doorbell, no traffic passed at that time... Annoyingly I couldn’t get in touch with customer support at either company, so decided to leave it until the following morning...

Fast forward to 23:55, there was a knock at the door... I checked my doorbell, and it was Yodel. Delivering my food order... which contained raw meat...

Not happy at all with this level of service. The principle of LYING on the tracking information to show the delivery took place during the window, and then turning up at midnight is just not acceptable! It was quite clear that something had gone wrong with the parcels as they were leaking, and clearly stated they contained food products.

I have been using Monzo as my main bank…

I have been using Monzo as my main bank since October 2017 (I was part of the beta who had early access to the full current account).

Monzo being a mobile only bank was a little daunting at first, but I soon found that this didn't matter at all (only slight annoyance is not being able to pay in cheques and cash). The budgeting tools are amazing and have actually helped me save enough to put a deposit down on a house!

The only issues I have ever experienced have been the result of third-party issues, for which Monzo have been apologetic and have said they are taking steps to prevent the issues from happening again.
