This is not really a store specific gift card with a number you enter they want to link it to your credit or bank card, seems very scammy to me, we just ended up sending the card money to zelle and count it as a loss for the service fees.

I think Giftya's intent is good, but it was poorly executed. If you scour through all the fine print, they do explain how it works, but Chat GPT recommended this for me so I went with it. My friend is going through some difficult times right now and I sent him $200 to use at Food Lion, perfect, right? No. As soon as he received the notice he tied it to his debit card, which had $9 in it. He kept waiting and waiting for $200 to magically appear in his account with no luck. So after digging a bit, we found out that he actually has to purchase items with his own money and then 2 or 3 days later he will be reimbursed for it. Not what we were hoping for. So he did buy $9 of groceries and I guess it did finally put that into his account. I tried to get a refund for the unused portion but they say that is impossible. So now my only option is to give him $200 to put in his debit account so he can use the original $200 I gave him and either increase my generosity or ask him to pay back the extra $200 when he can. It's just very frustrating to try to help someone down on their luck and get bit in the ass this way. If you decide to use this service, please read carefully and make sure you understand how it works.
