How this company uses Trustpilot
See how their reviews and ratings are sourced, scored, and moderated.
Angi gets leads from the lowest quality sources and sells them to you at a premium. If you're vigilant you will close some of these leads, but you'll be competing with many other service providers and despite what they say, they still absolutely sell the leads to others. The most frustrating thing isn't their lead service, everyone sells crappy leads that you have to sift through, it's their service.

I had a dishwasher go out . I called MC Finishing Carpenter LLC. Name is Jeremy McCartney he stated the pump went out on the dishwasher. I can home the next day and my kitchen floor was flooded i cleaned it up the best i could and the next morning it has warped badly. I called Jeremy and he came over and looked at it and stated he could fix it. The whole floor down to the subfloor had to be taken out. We went to Menards together and picked out flooring. I paid for the floor myself. He had his brother come over and helped and he was paid $200.00 each day he came, but did not spend all day. Jeremy went several times to Menards to get supplies and other things. I asked him to put in a new faucet in my kitchen as well. He did that about halfway. I still do not have a sprayer in the sink are and several parts not put back. He stated he bought the most expensive faucet at $90.00 and wanted $350.00 for the new one. I advised him i only had $300.00 that day in cash. I told him the kitchen floor wasn't right, but he in insisted it was because the old floor was very old and not straight. I paid him $800.00 the first day and then another $1400.00 the next time and then the $300.00 for the faucet. I was not happy, i did not get any receipts back and so he is going to get all that rebate money back from Menards. I also asked him to trim a big bush outside my house. I texted him and he told me $100.00 and i said ok. He stated later he had to buy a hedge trimmer to do so and ask me to pay him another $75.00 to haul off material. I told him no because he told me $100.00. I WOULD NOT USE HIM AGAIN. I asked for $200.00 back because i thought he took advantage of an older single woman. He would not agree. He offered me $100.00 refund and now he won't even return text messages. I called Angi to complain and ask for help and Angi has totally ignored me. SO I WON'T BE USING ANGI ANYMORE

I wouldn’t even give Angie one star if I could! Never ever ever use Angie’s list especially through Walmart! The guy came and only did half the job and left now I can’t even get a hold of Angie or any of the representatives! Walmart says it’s a third-party problem and they won’t help me either! Now I have I can’t do anything about it. I am so pissed never ever ever ever use Angie’s list ever!

Angi made two automated appointments for me ( it's what is convenient for them) and conveniently canceled with out cause. Spoke to one installer, who said he could come on the day scheduled but at a different time, he never showed up or called. The first installer did apologize for not showing up and also volunteered to install the ceiling fan. (Note: there was no ceiling fan install and I told him that before in an earlier conversation.) Angi sent another auto email stating that someone else would be coming instead, didn't show up either. Original appointment 8.19 and rescheduled 8.21. I called Wayfair and they refunded me the installation charge and I suggested that they cut ties with Angi.

Booked well in advance for installation of a light fixture. Appointment was confirmed. No one showed up at the appointed time, instead I received an email telling me no one was available. When I called Angi’s I was told they don’t schedule, instead installers just pick up jobs when they want, and apparently can cancel at any time. Why would any customer want their job to be a filler for someone who is slow for business. Don’t waste your time with them.

The platform is not interactive and the communication is poor. I was assigned a time for installation of a product. I requested a change to a later date. They changed it to earlier w/o notifying me. I first learned when the contractor got in touch with me. On the site, I attempted to communicate, but it's all automatic. Eventually I reached a person and requested cancellation of the service and a refund. Then I received another email from the contractor about rescheduling -- the platform had not communicated to him the cancellation. I had another chat to confirm the refund (not received after 5 days), and was assured it would be coming.

We were searching for a business to blow in Fiberglass insulation into our attic recently. We reached out to Angi for help on a Sunday night. We know Angi is a company that is reliable and has a record for carefully vetting ALL businesses under their umbrella. Within in minutes, they replied. The next day a business contacted us. We were given a quote.
We called around in our local area to see if anyone could match that quote. No company could.
The original company came to our home the following day. They were prompt, respectful, kind, courteous, friendly and professional. They cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. For that, we are grateful.
We were impressed with the fact that Angi called our home while they were here. She wanted an update and asked if we were satisfied with the work so far. We were very pleased.
We give Angi an A-plus for a job well done. Kudos!
We highly recommend Angi.

I hired a pro on angi to rebuild a patio cover. I did a HORRIBLE review of the pro and it’s been taken down! I used no profanity; I didn’t exaggerate or anything I can see that would be outside of their policies.
My review was mostly pictures showing his poor craftsmanship and that I fired him.
I’ve tried to repost and it tells me something went wrong.
There’s no number to call to get support unless you’re a “Pro”.
What can they do? Give the customer that REALLY supports the site a way to get justice.

Pricing and budget inconsistent for a single person handyman such as myself. My cost to earnings is ridiculous. Their help desks is populated by individuals who have severe listening issues. Thanks but no thanks angijunkscam

We contacted Angis list and selected THREE people to submit quotes based on their reviews. Over the next 5 days we received at LEAST 18 DIFFERENT VENDOR CALLS. Many from companies that have negative to poor ratings. And even when telling them we no longer are looking they would just call from different numbers.
Why does Angi tell you to select the vendors you are interested in, if they are going to give it to EVERY VENDOR THEY HAVE. Because they get a fee from every referral they give to a vendor.

Very little is available about the company and how it operates for contractors without inputting your contact info into the site to create an account. Once you find out more details and are no longer interested, it is basically impossible to get Angi's sales team to stop contacting you. While currently not in the market for paid contracting leads, if we ever were in the future, Dillon Cook from the Chicago office absolutely sealed the deal that Angi will never be a service that we will consider. On top of being an annoying pushy sales guy, he tried to play himself off as having work without initially disclosing he worked with Angi. He was rude, tried weird mind game manipulation tactics, and pulled the legendary "have the day you deserve," line after being told to put us on their do not contact list.

Hired a guy through Angi. He took my $10,000 and then filed bankruptcy. Angi did nothing about it. They are useless in a dispute, have no real authority and apparently are not good at vetting. My advice is look elsewhere.

Extremely disappointed with my experience with Angi. The one star which is mandatory is too many. I hired a professional through their service specifically because I expected someone qualified, prepared, and capable of completing the job I was paying for. Instead, the person who showed up was unable to complete the installation and left me with the exact same problem I had before the appointment.
What makes this especially frustrating is that customers use Angi because we’re supposed to be getting vetted professionals. If someone accepts a job, they should have the experience, tools, and knowledge necessary to actually perform it—or at minimum properly assess the job before wasting the customer’s time.
I paid for a service, not for someone to show up, tell me why they couldn’t do it, and leave. Angi needs to do a much better job of verifying the qualifications of the professionals they send to customers.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Angi for ANY home projects. I expected professional service and a completed job. I received neither.

Jesus Domingues Masonry is a great company. Jesus relaid and repaired my brick patio. He was timely, extremely affordable and did a great job. I highly recommend him.

These guys were giving me aggressive calls. Was able to get them stopped finally after MUCH frustration.

Angi leads are a waste of $$$. leads are not vetted. Phone numbers are mostly non working, In the rare instance of getting someone answering the person was just shopping. When I signed up, the Angi rep promised vetted leads, but Angi does not ask the potential customer any questions. Don't waste precious business dollars on this scam. Put your money into Google Ads.

I used to love this site, and have been a member for a few years now. But they have switched to AI only help giving you a very limited contractor list. For example when searching for an electrician (very common request) they would only give me 2 choices that are an hour drive from my home. While within a 10 mile radius there is dozens of qualified companies to choose from. It is obvious that these companies have paid to have their names moved up the list. The trust of finding the best service with Angi has gone.
