went to pick up car in alicante airport on the 28th june, had paid platinium insurance with doyouspain, only to be told i had to pay an extra 269.00 euro for car insurance as they would not take my credit card by phone,but were well able to take my 269 euro by card on my phone , scammed out and told the doyuospain insurance was basically a waste of my money , i was totally misinformed by staff in office, and will never use them ever agiain, a great start to my hoilday .be warned.

Do not use this company to hire your car
We arrived to rent the car, they said they didn’t have any of the cars available of the type we had booked. Eventually they found one, it was completely dirty when we collected it and no one from the rental company came with us to get it. The car broke down through our hire. We were left stranded in 37 degree heat in a rural village with no shelter, I was 5 months pregnant. There was no assistance whatsoever from Drivalia to help us get a taxi to pick us up to get to the nearest Drivalia location to pick up a new car. They didn’t even provide us with a taxi number, we had to resort to going to the nearest vineyard for help. No one at either Florence or Pisa Drivalia locations were answering their phone numbers or WhatsApp in an emergency so we had to take a gamble and just get a taxi to the nearest location. They are now refusing to pay the full taxi fee even though their vehicle broke down due to a mechanical failure (apparently their policy is €200 max and it’s €250) - i still however haven’t received payment for anything for said taxi and it was almost two weeks ago i submitted the expense, I also cannot be given a time period from customer service as to when to receive this amount back. They also claim to have released my security deposit but that also has still not credited on my statement over 7 business days later now. They also cannot provide me with a time estimate as to when this will credit. Both cars that we hired from them were also older models and looked pretty scrappy from customer damage over time. Just don’t use this company.

Total shambles from minute I arrived in Edinburgh . 25 min to get picked up then charged £280 extra above my rental charge as would not except my bank card which had sufficient funds to pay /retained security deposit of £1500 ! But used same card as a retainer for possible parking fines or speeding tickets . My mother had been rushed into hospital and I needed transport asap ! Absolutely shocking company to deal with after care not helpful one bit . Rip off company stay well clear !!

I had booked an economy car online for June 1–5, 2026. When I arrived, they tried to rip me off—I was supposed to pay an extra £62, but they came up with a figure of £199!Just plain old con artists and thieves!!I didn't agree and resigned.!

The worst experience ever. Avoid using this company by all means. Upon arrival they make you wait for 2 hours in order to formalise contract. All other companies have 2-3 desk officers while Drivalia only has one which makes all their customers wait at check in for over 2 hours. After check in they inform you the the car you have booked is not yet available and you have to wait another 30-40 minutes to pick up the car.
After that they are rushing you to sign the contract, reject to register existing damages in the contract. Upon delivery they claim the preexisting damages as if they were made by the new renter.

The staff acknowledged to us that they greatly understaffed and are screwing their customers by making unjustified damage claims which are proven by the photos before signing the contract.

Drivalia Fiumicino is a scam!

The service was good overall. Everything was explained clearly, and the transaction was handled quickly and efficiently. However, the car’s key and tyre constant warnings added unnecessary stress.
The team was friendly, reachable, and supportive throughout our car rental journey.
However, the car did not appear to be properly checked before collection. About 30 minutes into our journey, we received a key fob battery warning, which caused unnecessary stress during our road trip, and we also had constant tyre pressure warnings throughout the rental despite inflating the tyres and raising the issue at collection. These problems could have been avoided with proper checks before the car was handed over.

I bought Premium car rental insurance via the booking agents however when I got to pick up the car with Divalia they said the insurance was useless and I would struggle to get any money from them if the car got damaged, and I would lose the 1200Eur deposit. They said I needed to take out their insurance for an additional 170Eur, with 250Eur deposit.
I was then expecting the rental car to be immaculate but it turned out to have damage on every panel and every wheel. Total SCAM

Thieves. Be careful before you rent or lease any of their cars. They will always find ways to charge you. They wanted to charge thousands of pounds for a scratch that I couldn’t even see

Unfortunately I am unable to give this company 1 star but there is no option of writing a review without it without it.

My husband is still waiting for his £1500 deposit which is still outstanding. He rented a vehicle in August 2025 and two reviews later we have been informed that the deposit was stuck in the system. Via email they confirmed they will look into this. Couple of days passed and we were informed they had rectified it and released the deposit. We are now in March 2026 and we have still not received the deposit of £1500. Please do not use this company as all they do is take your money and they they don't return it. On chasing this deposit further we were informed it was released but we needed to get legal assistance to get our money back.

I smell a very big rat. Why do we need legal assistance to get our money back. If your an honest company, you should be bending over backwards to resolve this issue of a £1500 deposit. We hired a vehicle and returned it on time with no issues so why haven't we received out money. My next step is reaching out to the ombudsman and taking this further.

I just want people to avoid this company to save themselves the headache of what this company is about.

Arrived on time to collect my hire car and was told they didn’t have the car I had reserved. I pointed out the reservation said “or similar”. They then said the car they did have, had a cracked alloy and cannot be used, I did say I wanted to see the damage and was refused.
They said there was an alternative available but must pay an additional £12 per day on top of the original payment. I have since spoken to branch support, who did confirm, I should have been given a car without the additional payment.
I wasted in excess of 2 hours trying to resolve the issue and, as I had insisted will be taking this much further, they told me I have now been banned and as it was now more than an hour after collection time the reservation has been cancelled.
I had been using the company for a number of years and was even told I was a valued customer prior to this sour end.
I have never experienced such appalling customer service.
I have an open complaint ongoing and will be tacking this further with the directors of the company!!!!!!

Do not rent a car from them!!! This is the worst company in the world for car hire.
Its been 6 months now and still taking money from my credit card. And making stupid excuses.. Drivalia Uk Gatwick, do not rent a car from them!!!!! Or where ever in the world they have open up.

Best car hire I have ever done I used these cars in Manchester and Edinburgh and found them the best I have ever used honest and helpful, don’t mess around with car hire some can take money for stuff you don’t need these boys will not

I rented from Drivalia in Olbia from 16 Sept to 24th 2025. The check in was ok. Although I am not a fan of having to inspect my own vehicle. Car was dirty inside and had existing damages on the exterior. Agent was not helpful to inspect the car with me, too busy on the mobile phone. At check out nobody was there, left the keys in the drop box and took a video of the car. 3 hrs later they informed of damages on the car. Previous damages. That's how they operate, by adding fees and charging damage fees you didn't do. Scammers! Do not rent from this company.

It's quite a walk but I found them very good to deal with

Its a scam , be very careful , don’t book trough easyJet , never ever with this company Drivalia . No show after 1 hour they charge you 4 times the price for the same car . It is a scam , staff seem friendly but they are all in on the scam, easyJet flight was delayed , booking was also though easyJet , best to book directly without easyJet directly with another company like Sixt or Euro car to avoid big issues . Be careful people . Has to be said and reported , I will also be making a police report.

I hired a vehicle from their Lancaster office. The vehicle and price were excellent- but in particular the friendly and helpful service I received (from Michael/Simon) was outstanding. I don’t like the usual procedure of car hire but this was a different class.

Warning: Drivalia Italy = Scam! They made us sign on a tablet without telling us they added an extra insurance we never asked for. Later, they charged us with almost €500 and refused to refund. Dishonest and abusive – avoid them!

Hired a car in Italy and fine for the pick up where I took a video. There was nobody to check this with on pick up.
I then returned it and took another video.
I then received a damage report for €840 and they debited my card.
No damage was done
I then have 5 weeks of emails saying they needed metal data from the video and just blocking
Eventually they asked for JPG which isn’t a video format
They then accepted the video and are still delaying so it’s now nearly 7 weeks and they haven’t refunded.
Totally disreputable and a shambles of a company.
Do not use and AVOID at all costs if you want a decent organisation

We hired a car from Drivalia at Glasgow Airport. Pick up and drop off experience was good and also ferrying us to and from the airport terminal. Drivalia went the extra mile for me when I left my scarf behind by retrieving it and forwarding it to me promptly. Special thank you to Daniel.
