This company is the biggest scam
This company is the biggest scam! Be very careful! They wanted us to pay for two dents that have been on the car before. Luckily we took really good pictures and videos of the car which were showing both. They try this with everyone who does not take their premium insurance! Go around the car and make sure to document every single scratch and dent you can find. We had pictures of both dents so they couldn't charge us. But they will charge the next person for the exact same dents. Be very careful with them!
Excellent car rental experience from Noleggiare
Excellent car rental experience from start to finish. The car was clean, comfortable, and in excellent condition, and the whole process was smooth and hassle-free. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout.
Everything was exactly as agreed, with no hidden surprises. I would definitely recommend this car rental company to anyone looking for reliable service and a stress-free experience. I’ll certainly use them again!

Thanks to the team 🌺
Don’t use them in south Italy!
We have rented from Noleggiare twice, and the difference between the two experiences was remarkable. Our first rental in Tuscany was excellent, which is why we confidently chose the company again for our trip to Sicily. Unfortunately, the second experience felt like dealing with a completely different company.
From the beginning, the staff were unfriendly and the security deposit was extremely high. When we returned the car, it was inspected with extraordinary scrutiny, and three tiny marks were identified on the windshield. The staff even acknowledged that the marks may already have been there when we collected the car, but maintained that it was our responsibility because they had not been recorded on the initial damage report.
We had taken photographs of the car and windshield at pickup. However, the marks were so small that they were not visible in photographs showing the full windshield—which gives an idea of how minor they were. Despite this, we were told that the entire windshield needed to be replaced at a cost of approximately €1,000.
Of course, customers should inspect a rental car carefully when collecting it. However, it is unreasonable to expect customers to identify microscopic marks that the company itself failed to document, particularly when those marks cannot be seen in normal photographs. The combination of the unusually high deposit, the extremely detailed return inspection, and the disproportionate replacement charge left us feeling that the process was designed to find something billable—especially for customers who had not purchased the most expensive insurance package.
Based on our experience, I would not rent from this Noleggiare location again. If renting in southern Italy, I would strongly recommend either taking the most comprehensive insurance available or choosing a larger international company such as Hertz or Sixt.
Wrong van, poor maintenance, terrible customer service
We needed a van size due to luggage and 5 people. After much research we booked a Hyundai Staria 9 seater through "Do You Italy" with Noleggiare as the company in Rome (FCO). At the counter we were told we needed extra insurance at E400, even though I paid in advance for their coverage. Then we were told the Hyundai was not available and were given a Ford. When asked about the Hyundai the agent told me there are none and would be none until after November. Now WHY would they sell that option if none available in Italy. On our journey, many warning lights were going off. One about the parking brake needing service, another saying the car was not in "park" when clearly we were driving and lastly this AQUA BLU saying when it runs out the car wont start. Now we are in the remote Sila forest of Calabria when that did in fact run out. Stopping at a gas station, we were told only a mechanic shop would have this solution. I had to google what the heck that solution was as there was no manual in the car. After another 20 miles we found an open garage and they charged us E50 for 2 bottles of the Aqua Blu. This is imperative on a diesel vehicle. Who knew? He put one in filling it half way and we bought a second one as a back up. I wrote the customer service for Noleggiare explaining the poor service on the car and that we were almost stranded on our holiday. The reply was with a receipt we would get a E50 credit. Because it was lunch time for the mechanic and we were clearly distracted, I failed to get a receipt. BTW pretty sure over charged as well. Upon returning the van, I explained and were told no receipt, no credit.....while I had a full bottle to show that we bought some. I sent SEVERAL emails to the same woman who responded and NO reply. Even to another customer service and NO reply. TERRIBLE customer service and terrible maintenance. I filed a dispute with my Citi card and did recover the E50 via that route. Never and I mean Never rent from this company. Clearly they do not rely on repeat business.
A sneaky company that pressure you into…
A sneaky company that pressure you into getting extra insurance, pressure you into giving them good reviews then at the end of the rental they ask to look through any photos of previous damages you have to check if there is some you missed and charge you for those damages again. Person giving car back next to me had the same experience. Not recommended unless you hate money. Anyway the attendant giving us the keys was nice.
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING, WOULD NOT RENT FROM THEM AGAIN. We rented a car from the Bari Central Station:
1) On pick up the car was dirty (in and out) so asked the attendant to have a clean car, he said we need to go back to the office. We asked him to walk around the car with us and note several damages - he refused.
2) As we were short on time, we took pictures of the damages we saw and drove off (big mistake)
3) On return of the car, the same attendant was now eager to walk around the car for damages. He then points to what he calls new damages, we show him that we had that picture on pick up … then he proceeds to find another one. Of course, he points at every small scratch in comparison to the pictures that we have.
4) Now, we’re being charged for this and we’re going through the complaints and claim process.
So they have two techniques - you either buy their insurance because they tell you your own insurance is not good enough OR they catch you with ‘pretend damages’ on return.
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR CAR, THIS PLACE IS NOT RELIABLE.
Scammers
This is not a rental company, it is a scamming company. They use the usual strategy of offering cheap cars and then pressuring the customer to get extremely expensive insurance. If you don't accept it, they will charge you for damages, even if you returned the car in the same condition as you received it.
I had a 10-day rental at Bologna Airport. They lie about the rental conditions, saying that without additional insurance, a 2 mm scratch (yes, 2 mm!!) could turn into a bill more expensive than the €1,100 excess on the car. They tried to sell me extra insurance that was significantly more expensive than the entire rental of the car. I obviously declined.
When returning the car, the guy spent a ridiculously long time looking for scratches. Since he didn't find anything, the best thing he could make up to complete the scam was a barely visible line in the same area of the car that was already documented as damaged in the contract, and he claimed that it was new damage.
When I pointed out that this damage was already in the contract, he showed me a photo taken before my rental. In that photo, the part with the allegedly new scratch is covered by a piece of paper that is supposed to be used as a scale, but it is conveniently hiding the relevant part. I requested a copy of that photo but the request was denied.
As a result of this scam, I was charged €180. I submitted a formal dispute three weeks ago, but I still haven't received any response. I have been renting cars fairly regularly for the last 20 years, and this is by far the worst company I have ever encountered.
normal experience
read a lot of reviews here about everyone getting finessed yet all went smooth for me, just got their insurance (wasnt able to pay with a debit card so had to get it eitherway); still recorded the outside and the inside on pickup thoroughly, fuel on pickup and dropoff, but once i came back i just parked it, handed the keys over and went off to my flight. deposit came back soon and all went smooth. no crazy lines at airports or anything, even if it was mid day. rented in alghero, sardinia, mid of july.
⭐️ 1 star
⭐️ 1 star – Very disappointing experience
I booked and paid for a Premium vehicle, advertised as an Audi A6 or similar, but when I arrived, the booked category was unavailable. Instead, I was given an Alfa Romeo Tonale, which in my opinion is clearly not comparable to an Audi A6 in terms of size, comfort or vehicle class.
I immediately raised my concerns and asked for a suitable replacement or a reduction in the rental price, but neither was offered.
What made the experience even more disappointing was the focus on selling additional insurance. I had already purchased full coverage through Auto Europe, yet I was repeatedly told that my coverage was insufficient and encouraged to buy additional insurance.
Overall, I paid for a premium rental and received a significantly lower category, with no meaningful solution offered.
Very poor customer experience. I would not recommend Noleggiare on this experience.
Liars and thieves
Liars and thieves. They claim we damaged the rear seatbelt buckle of a car we never even used. Everything was fine at drop-off, yet a month later—after we were already back in our home country—they did this. They won't send photos or a report as proof, nor do they reply; they simply raid our account. This has never happened to us in any other country. Thieves!!!!

It's ridiculous the amount of wrong doing of this car rental agency.
Stay away from this place
Stay away from this place! Absolute scammers targeting tourists.
We rented a car for just one single day to drive from Anghiari to Rome. The car was already quite old and used, with plenty of scratches on the body recorded on the pick-up paper. But of course, they marked the undercarriage as 100% pristine—because what tourist can check under a car without a mechanic's lift?
When we returned the vehicle, the employee (Mateo) didn't even do a normal check. He went straight down on his knees to look under the car and instantly claimed the bottom was scratched. We drove very carefully and never hit anything. Then he claimed a rim scratch (thank god we had a timestamped video from pick-up showing the exact same marks were already there!). Next, he pointed at two microscopic specks on the windshield and said the entire glass had to be replaced. When we told him we completely disagreed with this nonsense, he got petty and invented another fake damage on the fender where there was literally nothing.
On the spot, he tried to intimidate us into signing for €1,100. We refused. Later they sent an invoice for €700—suspiciously close to our deposit amount just so they could keep our money.
This is a totally calculated scheme to rob people of their deposits. Take detailed videos of every millimeter if you already made the mistake of booking here, but better yet, avoid them completely!
Made Up Dents to Rip Me Off
Seemed fine until drop off. The lady there made up two dents that you literally cannot see with the naked eye right next to an existing dent they "already recorded but these two were not there". I know for a fact those two "dents" were not me and how I'd noticed them during pick up but they said no worries, but they ignored me and are trying to charge me $300+. Absolutely will not rent from them again, recommend nobody does, there are plenty of other car rental options in Naples to pick from that I have had much better experiences with

Staff is so humble and helpful the finished my process very fast and they upgraded my car to 2026 brand new car. Thank you so much
One star and absolutely not…
One star and absolutely not recommended. The low initial price was outweighed by aggressive upselling, extra charges and very poor customer service.
I booked a large car with Noleggiare through Rentalcars.com for two weeks in Italy for four passengers with large suitcases. The initial price seemed reasonable, but the problems began when our flight changed and we arrived four hours early. Noleggiare offered no assistance and referred us back to the broker.
At pickup, we were charged an additional $30 per day for an “upgrade” and persuaded to buy extra insurance despite already having collision protection. This increased the total cost by around 60%. Although the car was nearly new, it was a basic model with limited luggage space and insufficient power for four people and their luggage.
The return instructions contained an incorrect, non-functional location link. I emailed customer service at 09:15 for clarification but received no response. I followed the available address, arriving at 14:30, only to find a residential property. After calling, I was given the correct location and arrived at 14:50—just 20 minutes late.
Despite the delay being caused by incorrect information and poor communication, I was charged an additional day’s rental. My refund requests have gone unanswered, so I have escalated the matter through Rentalcars.com.
Scam, rude and non transparent
We rented through easy jet. We made doubly sure to have all necessary documentation and cards (physical credit card, driver’s license, ID).
Upon arrival the staff was rude and short answer. She said she can’t give us the car, because the credit card is not valid. I called the bank and everything was OK.
They forced us to take an additional insurance which was the cost of the rental itself before giving us the car.
It’s a huge scam the company is not to be trusted. Do not rent through them the price is not worth the risk of being scammed.
Alghero Airport perfect service.
Rented a car online with pickup at Alghero Airport with 6000 km in it. It was basically brand new. The company does not require to have the full rental fee paid in advance only a reasonable part. You can cancel the booking at the last minute and they promise refund but to be honest 100 EUR is a fair loss if something goes wrong in the small letter section. There were no dodgy insurance policy or extra costs to be covered. All the details were clearly explained and the full coverage was included in the original rental price. 100 EUR deposit was blocked on debit card no credit card needed. The pickup was very convenient even with the late night flight. When returning the car I only handed over the keys there was no inspection due to the full coverage. They said if there was any damage they would need to arrange it with the insurance company anyways. They were very friendly and helpful. Thank you guys it was excellent service.
