Poor customer service
I rang up Nectar helpline just before 11.00 today, because I was having problem using nectar card on Argos website. I was told by the customer service advisor that the card is not valid. I have been using this card all this time in Sainsbury and the balance I have is £45 plus. I thought maybe it needs updating because numbers were fading. I was on the phone for quite sometime. I was told that I need to call Argos to sort it out. I said why. He insisted I have to speak to Argos helpline and he said he will give me the number. After I got the number from him, I asked him again .Are you sure this is Argos number. He said yes .Straight after. I agreed to take part in survey. I ticked all the boxes and gave him 5 star in everything. I went to call Argos and it was the same number for Nectar. This guy made complete fool of me.I wish I had given him 0 marks . He is not fit for the job. Please ignore my 5 stars and give him o marks.
Ebay and Nectar waste of time
I used the link on 3 occassions following the same process when buying goods on Ebay.
I received points for only one of them...Nectar says i can't jave thebpoints for the transaction even though they accept i made the purchases. It sounds like a scam to me.2nd September
Would give zero star if I could
I rang to explain that I was having problems with the Nectar app because it says I’m using a different email from the email I originally registered with. I rang the Helpline and the agent didn’t listen to what I had to say properly and then said he’d reset the password which was not what I needed and when I repeated my question politely about the emails he cut me off. He also sounded very bored when I first rang and not at all helpful
Nectar Card Account Helpline
This review is specifically related to a call to the Nectar Helpline at approximately 1710h on 31/08/26,
The associate who took my call and helped me was called Syed. The problem I called about was complex. Syed dealt with it with patience, politeness and professionalism. The feedback link he sent me after the call failed due to a technical issue at my end. My only route to saying thanks publicly and rating the customer assistance I experienced highly is, therefore, via this trustpilot review. I am happy to award 5/5 ratings to all the questions I would have been asked on the nectar feedback link, had it not failed! Thanks again, Syed.
This has got to be the worst app going
This has got to be the worst app going. If I was in charge at Sainsburys I would sack immediately anybody connected to this atrocious system. I am annoyed with trustpilot that I can’t give minus stars. Whatever you do you don’t want a Nectar card because that’s the only way to SAVE your sanity.
I purchased a home insurance policy…
I purchased a home insurance policy with the promise of 3500 points roughly £20 in Feb 26 now all of a sudden the points have been deducted saying this purchase does not qualify.
So basically nectar and confused.com have lured me into a deal to take these points from me at a later date.
Surely this is not legs, I purchased this policy in good faith to get these points.
Do Not trust these offers because they will take them back. This is not the first time this has happened.
All nectar can say is contact confused it's nothing to do with us, but I bought it via nectar website.
And I bet these cowboys are doing this everyday and where is thebptotection for my funds in my account. It is in the eye of the law theft.
X points scam wording
X points scam wording.
Got an offer of 3 x points on your shop when spending £20.
I assumed this meant I would get 3 x points on whatever items had an offer on them.
i.e. baked beans - 20 points, so I expected 60 points on that item. No. The offer gives you 3 x points on the amount you’ve spent at the till i.e. spend £20 get 3 times that in points - 60 points.
Absolute scam on the wording.
I wouldn’t have purchased all the items that were on offer to me but I did as it got me 350 points so I was expecting 1050.
No! What I got was 3 times the total my bill was. £20 so all I got was 60 points. Big difference!
False advertising!!!
I've had the exact same experience as…
I've had the exact same experience as described by the 1-star review before mine signed by someone called 'Andrea'. On 12th May I received an email from Nectar telling me I'd have received 500 bonus points straight into my balance for linking my Nectar account with a Marriott Bonvoy account. I created a new Marriott Bonvoy account the same day via the offer and linked them. Received an email from Nectar confirming the two accounts had been linked. I've been chasing those 500 bonus points since then. Reached out 4 times. Each time I shared screenshots of the emails received and was told I'd hear back after 28 days. Never heard back. The third time I reached out, I was told someone would reach out to me within 48 hours. Never heard back from anyone. Today someone told me that the points cannot be added because:
"you linked with the existing Marriot account account." "The point adds when you linked a new account via nectar account."
I'm genuinely copying and pasting from the chat. I don't even know what this is supposed to mean. When I asked for clarification this is the response I received:
"Its showing you did not created a new account." "I am sorry but as I can check the points cannot be add."
Absolutely shameful service and it's completely put me off using Nectar moving forward.
Absolute liars and cheaters
Absolute liars and cheaters! I have signed up to Marriott just for the 1000 bonus points and you have made up every possible fake excuse not to honour the promise of 1000 points. I have all chat transcripts. Fake customer service errors, technical glitches, wait a bit longer and then the results…you haven’t used the nectar app to register hahaha what do you think I used instead? Liars cheaters. Not even a way to complain rather than a postal address. Do not believe anything this company promises. Here are my two cases if you need them CE-202608-4080 and CE-202607-8146. You owe me an apology and 1000 points and many hours of my life back. Criminals
Absolute Con Nectar delete all points £135
Had a nectar card for years, recently went to spend points, all of them deleted, nectar support say they deleted them, opened a case, heard absolutely nothing. £135.00 vanished, total miserable scam
Appalling service
Appalling service. I used points in the petrol station, in person, with a store assistant processing it in the kiosk.
The confirmation email shows points spent ONLINE. The Nectar app correctly shows the points spent at my local store's petrol station.
I thought I had better report the anomaly. Phoned. Was told I could not be put through to the technical team but MUST use Chat.
Chat did not have a clue. "We only deal with points issues". No effort made and pretty incomprehensible at times. They assumed that 15.06 today was a date (in June!) rather than the time of today's email. Very painfully had to clarify.
No effort made to process the issue and not even interested in me uploading a screenshot (which phone support had originally asked me to do).
A pathetic effort. Not even an effort.
They are just going through the motions of assuring us that they care about security of transactions etc. They are not at all interested.
Receiving points
Nectar only gives you points on LOW priced items. I purchase most things online and go through nectar if I can. Usually get the points and always check the emails to go with them.
Expecting points for large items? forget it. I bought an iMac - got 0 points. I spent just under £2k.
Bought a lot of other things over the years worth hundreds and no points. If you go to Nectar chat you're met with A.I reps.
For me, it seems I only get points mainly with Argos and Ebay, all the other sites on their page are a hit n miss.
Giving it 2 stars for this reason and for using A.I and not real people for customer service.
Nectar app is extra admin
Having to unlock bonus and nectar points in the app EACH week is an unnecessary chore and extra admin. Bonus points and nectar prices should be automatically applied to customer accounts.
Low Low Low customer service
The customer service is so poor! I spent GBP1200 at Argos online shopping buying iPhone 17promax. I was told points will be added in 30days. I even had email confirming it. Almost 2 months passed no points were added. When I called them to find out they simply denied helping by saying your account not linked with Argos and points can't be added! They just bounced me to each other. Whats big deal if not linked, its 1200 points, escalate to senior manager and sort it out but they were literally without any solution ideas.
POOR NECTAR CUSTOMER SERVICE
WHAT’S THE POINT OF OFFERING BONUS NECTAR POINTS TO SAINSBURYS CUSTOMERS AND ERECTING HURDLES TO FRUSTRATE CUSTOMERS FROM CLAIMING THE LOYALTY POINTS? I’ve held a nectar card for a very long time but I’ve had lately unhappy moments with attempts to collect outstanding bonus points for recent in store purchases in Sainsburys. I receive weekly email notifications advising me that Bonus Nectar Points are in and reminding me to unlock them in order to receive them when I make in store and online purchases with Sainsburys. WHY AM I REQUIRED TO UNLOCK THEM IN ORDER TO RECEIVE LOYALTY POINTS? I’ve promptly unlocked on my Nectar apps the bonus points before shopping in order to ensure that I can receive promptly any eligible bonus points. The mobile app warns that bonus points should be available for collection within 48 hours of the date of shopping online or in store. I’ve still not received my Nectar bonus points after 48 hours after two recent in store for Sainsburys. WHAT’S THE POINT OF HAVING A CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM BY PHONE AND/OR CHAT LINE WHICH LACKS THE CAPACITY TO LISTEN AND THE COMMITMENT TO RESOLVE CUSTOMER BONUS POINT ISSUES? I’ve complained today to Nectar customer services by the Chat line and by phone and neither customer helpline services team have been able or willing to help with and resolve the outstanding Nectar bonus points issues. I’m quickly reaching the stage when I would be reluctant to recommend subscription for Nectar loyalty points to any family or friends.

Referred here by an Argos rep. Utterly useless automated system which keeps you in a loop while preventing you speaking to an actual human being.
Worst app
Worst app. Deleting my account every second month and I realise it on the till. Of course need to pay twice more as this is their purpose. Avoid using
If you have the patience of a…
If you have the patience of a saint..and lots of time on your hands!! Then just try and link the card to Argos..no wonder Sainsbury is ditching Argos.!!!..absolutely useless.
AO.com were awarding 2 nectar points…
AO.com were awarding 2 nectar points for every £1 on 10th July. I spent £2,222 with them via the Nectar website. Had to wait until 10th Aug to get my points & only received 2,222 as the current offer is 1 point for every £1 spent. I have contacted Nectar several time about not receiving 4,444 points and was asked if I could prove it! I don't take screenshots every time I link to a supplier via their APP!!!!! The result was being advised by Nectar that this problem sat with the 3rd party i.e. AO.com. I have spoken with AO re Nectar points problem and they have no control over this other than verifying the purchase. Therefore this sits with 'Nectar' themselves!
