I cannot fault Ashwell Motors…
I cannot fault Ashwell Motors in Liverpool. They carried out the MOT, explained the failure clearly, and Fixter then sent me a quotation for the required repairs. I decided not to proceed with the work, but this is where my experience with Fixter became extremely frustrating.
Fixter does not allow you to decline repair work online, so you have to phone them. I tried repeatedly on Thursday afternoon and again on Friday morning, but I couldn't get through to anyone. As a result, my vehicle was effectively being held because the garage couldn't release it without authorisation from Fixter.
In the end, I contacted Ashwell Motors directly. They went above and beyond to get hold of Fixter on my behalf so that my car could finally be released. Their professionalism, communication, and willingness to help were outstanding, and I cannot thank the team enough for the way they handled the situation.
Based on this experience, I would happily recommend Ashwell Motors, but I would avoid using Fixter. If you use their service, be aware that declining repair work can become unnecessarily difficult if you are unable to reach their customer service team.
