Etsy Reviews 

Most of the things I have ordered from Etsy have been great. Things produced by small businesses in the UK, well made, good communication and worth the money. However things seem to have changed over time. Now there seem to be a lot of people buying cheaply from overseas, repackaging and upping the prices. They also say the goods are from UK sellers. However they import and re sell. Such a shame. Added to that if you want to return things which come from abroad you have to pay postage. If I am sure they are UK sellers I will buy, not otherwise.
As a codicil before Brexit I was able to buy without penalty goods from EU countries, and items bought from Eastern European countries were beautiful and hard wearing as well as being original and hand made.

I bought a momoral bear nearly 2 weeks ago and it haven't arrived i was going to buy 6 of the same now.i needed them for my wedding.so please etsy keep to your promises thank you

Seller advised my order was despatched, giving tracking no. with Royal Mail but the following day I received a message to advise order cancelled without any reason.?? Later I received another email advising from Etsy advising how did I want my refund ??? Either to Etsy account or my method of payment?? Of course I wish my payment paid back to my bank account. First time I have ever experienced this problem with a seller.

I ordered two items from DancwearByJay on Etsy.
The seller charged me £4.40 postage for each item.
Seller send a message regarding one of the items saying it was out of stock whilst still selling the same item on the website.
Despite having paid postage for each item , the seller didn’t sent either, claiming she was waiting for my answer on the out of stock item. I was left without a present on the day I needed it! Seller avoided a negative review on her Etsy site by cancelling the sale. Etsy have been most unhelpful and buyers seem to have very little say! Avoid if you rely on your order and don’t want to get ripped off on postage charges!

Absolutely the most shocking company ever. Please beware about ordering from this company. Ordered rug, kept telling me it’s being delivered tomorrow, 6 days later nothing. Can’t phone and emails bounce back. Reported them to ombudsman, complained to ceo and have advised my bank to reclaim my money. Never again will I order from these incompetence load of losers.

So I ordered some under shelf cup hooks as a guest, 4152237882 . I found the hooks to be too narrow to hold the cups. So I'm wanting to return them.. however as I don't have an account and purchases these as a guest there is no way to contact seller every attempt has led me to the sign in to account page. I even downloaded the app and attempted to open an account but can't seem to find a way to do it .. So here I am £25 down with a useless product and no way to return it...
Safe to say I probably won't be using Etsy again.

Etsy is the worst sales platform in the world; the level of service, support, and assistance offered to sellers is abysmal. This likely affects buyers as well, since sellers often fail to respond to messages or treat customers the same way the platform treats them. I advise anyone just starting out in sales not to waste their time there. The platform’s glory days are long gone, and Etsy favors the sellers who generate the most profit for them. You could upload plenty of photos and videos showcasing a fantastic product, yet low-quality junk—promoted by Etsy at heavily inflated prices—will still outsell your goods. You could spend hundreds of hours perfecting your products, and it still wouldn't translate into sales results.

After paying the £14 shop set-up fee, I was unable to proceed with the subsequent steps. Contacting the help desk has got me nowhere. As I haven’t received a receipt since paying the £14, I haven’t been able to get a refund either.

Do not believe ETSY marketing that they support small businesses. They actually bleed them dry with their refund policy and profit margins. As a result you will ALWAYS be able to buy the product cheaper elsewhere.

Useless Company ordered many days ago and still not got it, we needed fairly quick, so be Warned as you may not get it like us.

Will be looking elsewhere in the future.

Have tried to open a download for a colouring book that seems to be an impossible task - have tried on phone , laptop and computer with no success. Unlike normal sites where you press a download it will straight away open as a pdf this does not and most of the time the download button directs you to general how to download file. Very frustrating as £2.40 investment for my wife has wasted about two hours of my time

I ordered some items on etsy from international sellers in India and my orders were cancelled.
I contacted etsy support which was an absolute joke. They told me my order didn't exist! They ended the chat!
Why has etsy got fraudulent international sellers on their site.

I have bought stuff from Etsy before and it is ok but I have found that a lot of stuff on Etsy is actually on sale on Ebay and other platforrms for a lot cheaper price, and is not vintage or handmade as sometimes made out. Furthermore, I accidentally purchased an item that came from the the USA I tried to cancel the purchase the item before it was despatched several times, the seller refused to cancel the item claiming it was despatched when the tracking on the site said it wasn't, Etsy say they cannot cancel purchases. The item arrived, the item which cost £40 and was advertised as a stained glass lamp was a piece of plastic junk and poorly made, they are saying I need to send the item I tried to cancel back to get a refund which would inconvenience me, I am happy for the seller to collect it but the item is a piece of junk. I have also had other problems on Etsy, I bought a cat tree previously for £600 and the seller was fraudulent, I got my refund back eventually, but it seemed Etsy already had information the seller was fraudulent and did little with it, although I got my refund back they were slow to act and slow to close down the seller's site and I doubt they took legal action.

Most disappointing, it is expensive, with a joining fee, plus selling fees, the process of listing an item is quite complicated, plus, following your first sale, I believe it is 90 days until you receive the payment. I’ve been with them for around a month and have sold one item. I will cancel my account and stick to Vinted and EBay in future.

the item was nothing like it was advertised, i doubt its even genuine. I bought a Malbon top, advertised as loose fitting shirt in a large which is my size in malbon tops, when it arrived (two weeks after ordering) i couldn't do the buttons up and the top was so short it revealed my stomach. I requested a refund but was only offered an exchange. So i paid £27 postage to return the item back to Australia, and another two weeks later the same top in XXL arrived still really short and showing the bottom of my stomach. The packaging was cheap and nothing like all the other malbon gear i've bought, which makes me very much doubt the authenticity of this item which cost £189, and was shipped from a company in Australia that i couldn't find online. Worst clothing purchase experience of my life.

Very bad experience l bought two art wall from two seller salamislamicwallart&breatheislamicart for 170 pounds. They are rubbish no and do not like the photo. This is a fraud website. I could not return one of them. And l paid 15 pound to return one of them

Etsy is def over charging for items hugely, the cost of 1 clothing item that should 5.99 is inflated 3, 4, 5 times that amount. There's a lot of every day items that are the same.You can clearly see is not worth it by miles. Etsy is def far too expensive to shop, I def would avoid etsy in all manners.

I purchased an order from etsy 10 says ago from a company called handmadeshop,i have not recieved my delivery which they say is lost in transit.iv been trying to get a refund for few days to no avail.the service is atrotious i am totally outraged as they keep telling me to do this & that for refund,but still nothing.i do not reccomend anybody to use this company when buyin anything

I ordered a product that said free delivery. On despatch they didn't pay the correct postage and ended up having to pay to get the parcel from the post office. Not impressed because would have paid extra if they had asked me
