This company is HORRIBLE!

This company is HORRIBLE!. Fees are completely out of control, they REQUIRE a bank account be linked for sellers rather than simply adding a Venmo or Paypal. Random charges seem to be charged as well. 2 weeks after an Item was sold, I get a message saying they needed to charge me for additional shipping charges. Ended up losing money on the sale. Never selling on this platform again.

⭐ Extremely disappointing experience…

⭐ Extremely disappointing experience with eBay customer service

I purchased an item on June 19, 2026, specifically as a birthday gift. The parcel arrived in Italy on July 22 but remained in customs for weeks. I never received any notification requesting payment of customs charges during that period.

After opening a case with eBay, I was told that I had failed to pay customs charges and that I had allegedly been notified. However, eBay never provided any evidence of this alleged notification.

I contacted Poste Italiane directly and obtained written confirmation that the parcel was being held for customs clearance. Eventually, I received an official postal notice dated September 3, stating that the parcel could be collected from September 5 and requesting €88.69 in customs charges plus €21 in postal fees.

I submitted this new evidence to eBay during the appeal, but the decision was simply confirmed again. The explanations from eBay were inconsistent: at different stages they referred to customs, an alleged previous payment notification, and eventually a supposed delivery attempt.

The item arrived far too late to be useful as a birthday gift, and despite providing official documentation, I received no meaningful assistance or resolution from eBay.

The most frustrating part was not even the shipping delay, but the way eBay handled the dispute: decisions were repeatedly made against me without properly addressing the evidence I provided.

After years of using eBay, this has been an extremely disappointing experience. Very poor customer support and a serious lack of transparency.

ebay customer service, what a joke

Right now I absolutely hate eBay and their customer service or should I say lack of customer service after I changed my address in the settings and I placed an order it still put the wrong address after going around in circles after circles after circles trying to get hold of eBay customer service ( lol ) I was left so stressed and so frustrated they were absolutely no help at all. I will never ever use eBay ever again for anything.

To the Product and Executive Teams

To the Product and Executive Teams,

I am writing to explicitly state that the introduction of extended bidding is the exact reason I am permanently walking away from eBay.

By removing the definitive hard-close format, you have completely destroyed the platform's core identity. Forcing an open-ended, high-pressure auction model onto everyday second-hand items is a transparent act of corporate greed. It is incredibly obvious that this feature wasn't built to improve the user experience; it was implemented solely to manipulate bidding wars and squeeze every possible cent out of final sale prices to inflate your own commission fees.

This short-sighted greed completely breaks the unwritten contract eBay had with its community for three decades. An auction format where a timer resets repeatedly in the final minute does not create healthy competition; it creates extreme buyer fatigue. Average users do not have the time or the patience to babysit a screen for an extra 20 to 30 minutes while 50-cent increments endlessly delay the sale. This system eliminates the thrill of finding a genuine bargain, drives away casual buyers, and encourages an unsustainable cycle of emotional over-bidding that inevitably leads to unpaid items.

You have turned what used to be a fast, efficient, digital flea market into an exhausting corporate grind. If I wanted to buy items at a heavily inflated premium via a drawn-out live auctioneer, I would use an actual high-end estate house.

Because you value short-term corporate profit over your users' time and the classic ecosystem that built your brand, I am taking my data and my wallet to alternative fixed-price and traditional marketplaces. This update has single-handedly made your auction platform completely unusable.

Anybody can sell anything and call it…

Anybody can sell anything and call it whatever they want on this platform. Specifically my example is vitamin supplements. This particular seller, we'll call them baoboli_85 , sold this counterfeit as a safe product and regardless of if it is contaminated or just straight poison,eBay will just let them sell it , even after it was reported as making the purchaser violently ill, since all their operations are run by AI now it didn't have the common sense to take it off the market. So I would not even dabble with either anymore just for the fact that there is no morality behind their operations.A good rule of thumb is if it's cheap, it's for a reason. In my opinion,It's an F- for eBay. Be diligent about your health and your safety people, it's time to take the power back, it's time to get off the phone, it's time to start making our own. I'll never order from eBay again and I urge you to be safe and do the same.

Zero stars

eBay sucks. Zero stars. eBay discriminates against Buyers by there Payment Methods by NOT allowing them to bid for Sellers holding Auctions. Furthermore eBay discriminates against Buyers Payment Methods when Sellers give the option to "Make Offer" on goods. eBay forces Buyers to pay full price or shop somewhere else instead the "Make Offer" option. Also eBay does NOT honor there Guarantees on shipments. Packages were left discarded on doorstep even though specific delivery instructions were in place. Shipments which were taken/stolen and eBay did NOT offer a Refund or honor there Guarantee. I do NOT recommend eBay to anyone.

Uploaded a graded card for sale and it wasn't taken down as counterfeit? I pulled the card myself and uploaded invoice and receipt of grading said card. Appeal was unsuccessful as they think it's counterfeit....right...
Shambles amongst other things with this company, cheap labour customer service in India, eBay isn't what it used to be and I would highly recommend any other platform to sellers

Selling on eBay is expensive when the customer tells ebay the product is not as described and want massive discount to avoid bad reviews.
All profits and reputation ho down the drain because of a few scammers.

eBay is not a safe place to shop!

I ordered an item on eBay, I waited past it's due date and reached out to the seller who did not reply for another 24hours but through eBay. Basically asking eBay verify a delivery reference number which was not provided to me as the buyer on purchase. With doing an investigation on this delivery, eBay wrote me an email saying that it's been solved as seller has provided the delivery reference number. When I looked into the delivery provider with this reference, it has the delivery at the same city, not even same town which was 20 something minutes away without full address. As a buyer, you loose your hard earned money with unsecure, unsafe online purchases but most importantly so called big firms like eBay who don't care, as long as they're making money they move on. I sent emails to eBay requesting deeper investigation into this delivery with no reply.

Three Customer-Service Calls, Delivered Item, and Still No Funds Released

I contacted eBay customer service regarding a simple issue that still has not been resolved even after speaking with 3 different representatives and spending over 3 hours chatting with the AI bot, waiting on hold, and talking to agents.

Because eBay does not provide a direct customer-service email, I had to use the AI bot before I could reach anyone for assistance. I sold a NWT Lululemon Define Jacket Navy w/ Silver zipper and chose to ship it through USPS Priority Mail rather than use the eBay label purchased by the buyer. Since the item was expensive, I wanted additional protection against it being lost. This also cost me an additional $6 out of pocket.
After shipping the item, I was unable to put the USPS tracking number in the tracking section of the eBay order. I sent the tracking number directly to the buyer so she would know the item had been shipped. I then called eBay customer service on August 29, 2026, to ask how them to alter the order to allow me to enter the tracking information or have them enter it. The representative, Alec, was unable to provide a solution and instructed me to call back once USPS marked the package as delivered.
USPS marked the item as delivered on September 1, 2026, and the buyer also confirmed that she received it. I called eBay again on September 2. That representative told me they would manually mark the item as shipped and delivered, release my funds, and send me an email confirmation. However, I never received confirmation or my funds, and the issue was not resolved, so I had to call for a third time on September 4.
Unfortunately, the September 4 call was the worst customer service experience I have EVER had. The representative refused to help resolve the issue unless I obtained a positive review and additional confirmation from the buyer that the item was received. I explained that I had already spoken with two representatives and that the USPS tracking clearly showed delivery. Instead of addressing the issue, she told me I needed to be kinder.
I said that I felt she was not listening and that this was an expensive item that should have been resolved days earlier. She then told me I needed to follow what she said or eBay would not release my funds from the sale. When I asked whether she was threatening me, she said yes.
At that point, I asked to speak with a manager or another representative because the conversation was no longer productive. She refused and told me to solve the problem myself. She then placed me on hold. I find this especially concerning because the purpose of customer service is to help users resolve issues with the platform.
This entire call was recorded by eBay, and I strongly encourage eBay management to review it. The representative did not provide her name, but the call occurred on September 4, 2026. I plan to contact customer service again tomorrow and hope that this simple issue will finally be resolved and my funds released.

Seller Protection Failed When Buyer Returned a Different Item

I am extremely disappointed with eBay's seller protection after experiencing a return involving an expensive Seagate hard drive.

I sold and shipped a Seagate ST24000NM001H, P/N 3KS133-005, Serial Number ZYD3YQ6S.

The buyer returned a completely different hard drive:

Seagate ST24000NM002H, P/N 3KS133-004, Serial Number ZYDOFS5B.

The model number, part number, and unique serial number were all different from the item I sold.

I contacted the buyer through eBay immediately after receiving the incorrect drive and explained the discrepancy. The buyer never responded. I also reported the buyer to eBay and provided supporting information, including documentation from Seagate regarding the original drive.

Despite this, eBay issued the buyer a full refund.

I appealed the decision and also spoke with eBay Customer Service and a supervisor. The explanation I received was essentially that because eBay does not physically handle the returned merchandise, it cannot determine who caused the problem, and because return tracking showed successful delivery, eBay kept its original decision.

This is the part of eBay's return process that concerns me most as a seller.

Return tracking proves that a package was delivered back to the seller. It does not prove that the buyer returned the same item that was purchased.

Hard drives have unique serial numbers specifically identifying each individual unit. In my case, the serial number of the returned HDD did not match the serial number of the HDD I sold. Even the model and part numbers did not match.

Yet the buyer received a full refund, while I was left with a completely different hard drive and did not get my original item back.

I understand the importance of protecting buyers when an item is defective or not as described. Buyers absolutely need that protection. But sellers also need meaningful protection when objective evidence shows that the item returned is not the item that was sold.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend selling expensive or high-value serialized merchandise on eBay unless you are prepared to accept this risk.

After going through the appeal process and speaking with eBay representatives and a supervisor, I no longer have confidence that eBay's current return process provides adequate protection to sellers in a situation where a buyer returns a different item.

Ebay used to be a good place to sell…

Ebay used to be a good place to sell and buy . Used items and new.
Now eBay protects and earns money from people that openly sell fake goods. But eBay has double standards!
They say that if you have violated their policies you are restricted from selling
Some items like safety equipment! Crash helmets etc ! But I see this as a form of punishment! Because they permit used crash helmets to be sold on their website! So how is that safe ?
They own the website! And are a law unto themselves! I purchased many bottles of whisky on eBay over the years ! Now I wanted to sell them ! They say they have changed policy
And I can’t. Also I’ve come to notice
A lot of eBay sellers are committing online arbitrage . This is supposedly against their policy! Yeh right !
I now find a lot of this done across from amazon to eBay!
So I’ll be selling my unwanted stuff on eBay and buy what I need on amazon
And vinted

eBay allow sellers to commit fraud and then tells consumers "it doesn't warrant immediate action".

eBay allowed a seller to commit fraud, letting them sell me an item that they never actually had, and then refused to release my refund even though the seller canceled the order and there was clear written communication from the seller admitting to this fraud. Now I'm being told by eBay, even though they never released the payment to the seller, that they are going to hold my money for some unknown reason that no one could tell me. Because the refund was pending but no one knew why the refund was pending. I think eBay needs to be looked into if they are allowing fraud to happen on their platform and then telling me that it does not warrant immediate action. As far as I'm concerned, eBay is compliant in fraud and are now holding my money even when the seller admitted to it.

My experience with eBay's customer service.

My experience with eBay's customer support was extremely frustrating. I received a warped item that did not fit as described. Despite providing details and seeking assistance, eBay stated that it could not open a formal return or Item Not as Described case because the transaction was processed through the Philippines site. I ultimately had to seek other avenues for a remedy. Philippine buyers should be clearly informed about these limitations before purchasing.

Unable to contact them

Unable to contact them, when requested a callback they rang once and cut off, I left a negative feedback on a seller because what I ordered arrived in appalling condition, however the seller has left me a negative feedback on my positive feedback page!! A violation of eBay’s policy. I left fair feedback with pictures, to warn other buyers, so a seller shouldn’t even be allowed to get away with this.
